I had no idea that this was a film about Silver Sable and Black Cat.
There's something charming about that little fact. I think the title should stay. (unless you meant the thread itself)
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!That's a really terrible title for a film released in America, unless one assumes that there's no overlap between comic book enthusiasts and NFL fans. But then again, comics are so omnipresent in our entertainment, maybe it won't matter.
It's not like we have anything else to call it aside from "Team-up movie of Black Cat & Silver Sable."
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Another Sony Spider-Man movie without Spider-Man.
Mileena MadnessThe Cat and the Sword.
Wake me up at your own risk.Maybe they're waiting to see who actually cares about a Spider-Man-free Spider-Man cinematic universe.
Yikes, this doesn't sound good for the movie.
Mileena MadnessWelp. This got cancelled.
Mileena MadnessActually, it's just starting over.
...then again, that's probably just spin they came up with because they don't want to say "it's not working, we're killing it."
...Right?
I don't know where I'm getting this idea or even if the source that had it was reputable, but I "think" there was some mention of their being a femme fatale character in the next Spider-Man movie, and it's supposed to take place in Europe. So, it wouldn't really surprise me if Black Cat and/or Silver Sable are instead characters in a Spider-Man movie. At least before being in a standalone. Which kind of makes more sense anyway.
Does seem unfair though if this movie gets canceled and the Venom movie doesn't.
One site suggested Jessica Drew.
Mileena MadnessVenom is too far ahead to be cancelled, don't think Silver and Black even got a proper trailer
New theme music also a boxI think this is just PR spin. The movie is probably going to be cancelled unless Venom performs really well.
Would Venom doing as badly as Solo force Sony to fully surrender the rights?
Mileena MadnessDepends on how much Venom costs I'd imagine. They'd probably abandon any plans for their own franchise and just continue to partner with Marvel.
Yeah, the whole Sony Marvel Universe plan sounded shaky to begin with and on the off-chance Venom does "fine," but not "OMG THIS EXCEEDS OUR EXPECTATIONS," then I guess I can see some kind of retconning establishing that the events of Venom were happening during the time everyone was panicking over the you-know-what in Infinity War.
So now Sony can have two bombs instead of one. Hooray...?

Must say that I was more interested in seeing two buddies bouncing off each other than a solo each they’d have to carry all by themselves.
Black cat is well known and lends herself to genre really well, I'm surprised she wasn't Sony's first choice for launching this venom-verse, given that logically a black cat film would be a lot cheeper than standard superhero films.
I feel like that has the same issues as Venom though. Some of these characters don't work too well unless they have Spider-Man to play off of. Not everyone can be the headliner of a movie.
Silver and Black...maybe coming out?
