Rachael would flat out eat Mido for one, so she's already worse as a threat to the world.
Watch SymphogearI'm really hoping that this becomes just a reference in case they want to do more of this and not "the game is coupled to a different series in a different genre that's mostly on a bunch of dead handholds". It just makes for awful writing because hey, great, literally the entire plot is pointless and means nothing, why even bother having it?
Avatar SourceThe entire series is on the PS 4 now, so its still relevant enough. Hell, Its more then Likely Code Vein 2 will feature aragami much more as enemies.
Watch SymphogearYea...That's what I thought.
I'll be honest that I thought the director and the producer said that this game is a unique IP that could stand on its own a.k.a. not being related to GE universe at all. But given we saw Aragami...Yea
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."If they said that, then jumping right to "they reused one fairly generic design it must be the exact same setting" is one hell of a logical jump.

Avatar SourceErrrr... What do you mean by that tho? I'm confused
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."Because it's already a really sketchy rationale for saying that it's clearly the same series (and nobody can agree if it's a prequel or sequel so it only gets more random): one monster. And the part where apparently there were such things inside the mist at the beginning but they were killed but if this is the same universe that's not supposed to be possible so... who the hell knows. But if there's something saying it's supposed to be a different IP then it's an even bigger stretch.
And the interview that seems to involve this has the vague "When asked if there are any connections to God Eater, Tomizawa says they’re advancing through its development to make it into a new title that can offer a new gaming experience."
Avatar Sourceso you're saying that Code Vein is not a Stealth Sequel for God Eater at all?
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I didn't even know God Eater was a series until I heard it discussed in relation to this game. And I have zero interest in it, so no, I'm not going to buy your Not!Monster Hunter, no matter how much you want this game to make me think its cool.
Yea... Honestly, the Stealth Sequel part on some entries in Code Vein needs some huge clarification tbh given Word of God can be confusing as hell sometimes. It's true that there are Aragamis roaming around beyond the mist. But who knows that it was soon revealed that Code Vein is a self contained story and doesn't connect to God Eater and the similarities are just coincidental as hell
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."I'm saying that the logic for calling it a Stealth Sequel or Stealth Prequel is extremely flimsy and can also be equally attributed to the man in charge of the project also being in charge of the God Eater stuff going on at the same time. Add in that it's a separate IP with some things that don't mesh properly and a completely different style of gameplay... eh.
What we know is there is at least one thing outside the Mist that looks like an Aragami but that the Horrors that were inside the Gaol have been defeated; which by the logic of how God Eater functions and God Eaters are God Eaters shouldn't be possible. Also this would fully tie the thorns to the Great Collapse but we also know that the Queen was able to create them and the Successors manipulate the things, so that doesn't seem like an accurate explanation either.

Avatar SourceHmmmm...You may have a point
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."One thing I've noticed is that the weapons with any sort of elemental damage component are all shockingly bad. Worse than Dark Souls split damage, even, as the damage seems to be fixed and tiny.
Which is annoying because some of those weapons are really, really nice looking.
Avatar SourceJust got my first ending in the game. I went with the bad ending first just to get the achievement out of the way.
Now for my second playthrough.
Clearly the process of making Queen into well...an immortal revenant clearly meant they found a way to at the very least neutralize the Aragami, since it's potentially possible she could infect and take over an Aragami since she's immortal like they are, and Mido notes the Aragami weren't as dangerous originally so the Revenants were able to match them, but beyond the Red Mist they kept evolving and growing beyond what they would be able to handle.
So potentially Alternate Universe if it isn't a Stealth Anything.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The Low Ranking Kongou and Ogretails I could see the revenants not having much trouble with, but anything from Vajra and up, like the Dyaus Pita shown in the cutscene, would probably wipe out all of them easily.
Watch SymphogearThat is why Mido rants after all, they could have kept pace with the Aragami as they evolved, but its been years, and any chance of standing against them as is makes Mido look crazier than he already is.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. From Bugarally to the sounds the "horrors" make in Riki's vestiges being that of the Vajra (or were they Ogretail sounds. I forget what my friend who's played all of the God Eater games and this one said). To Louis and Karen having a similar appearance to, and the same last name as, Lindow. There are blatant shoutouts and ties to GE all over the game. Alternate universe my ass. Anyone who thinks it isn't directly tied to God Eater is in denial and needs to wake up.

If anything Wouldn't Louis and Karen having the same last name as Lindow be a point more towards the AU or distant future theory since Lindow and his sister clearly aren't Revenants?
"I'll show you fear, there is no hell, only darkness." My twitterRandom food for thought:
I honestly got a Fullmetal Alchemist flashbacks when seeing both Karnstein siblings
"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."its very obvious that the Karnstein siblings were meant to be in an entirely different game by how so fucking cute they are.
Watch SymphogearAnyone who doesn't think Nicola is the best boy in the game needs to just accept that they are wrong, kid is way too cute for what happens to him.
x5 I'm going to deny it until it becomes explicit because people like ruining all the good things they do.
Though really, really, you're going to use sound effects as an argument? That's hilarious.
Avatar SourceJust got this, loving it so far. I'm on PC, and a few of the keybindings are a little odd (who the hell uses right shift for anything?), but they can be rebound, so it's good. I just beat the first boss, and I'm considering upping the difficulty because it might actually be too easy. But we'll see.
Oh, and when I got that Lost Memory, my frame rate dropped from consistently 60 to 8. Even walking through that area for two minutes was difficult. Is that a known glitch?
I'm wondering if Mido is thousand times worse than Rachel from God Eater 2 or just being a bootleg version of her given that this is a stealth sequel of God Eater after all.
