So I actually had to check that we still have two more episodes. This last episode was giving me season finale vibes. I'm still wondering how all of this is going to end up. Right now Tandy's plot is tied into how they got their powers. Tyrone's seems kind of small time by comparison.

[up] Well, now Tyrone's kicked it up a notch.

Nice that they got him out of jail, even better without Tandy screwing him over even further. And guess Ivan wasn't the Hess we supposed to be worried about, what Mina did to that bee had me concerned. Guess we wait for the final, but until then wild mass guessThis season ends with with the Divine Pairing on the run where they meet another group of Runawayswild mass guess.

Wow...this last episode was really meta...I approve. It's strange, this could have easily felt like overexplaining. But it really worked.

[up] I think what Mina did was just supposed to illustrate what Tandy did to her.

Looking in from the outside this show seems to do a much better job talking about the relationship between black people and the police then Luke Cage has managed to.

[up][up] I know, but the bee wasn't the only thing she could have lashed out at.

[up][up] It really does. I think mostly because of the different perspective.

This episode was certainly interesting. I'm not entirely sure how Tandy's power works. Is she making them forget their hopes or is she just removing the positive feelings they give? I wonder how they're going to wrap things up in one episode.

I don't think that they will...based on this episode the next one will be the one in which Cloak and Dagger decide to become heroes and Mayham slips down a slippery path.

This show has low ratings? There is no justice in TV sometimes...

[up] Well, but apparently it did something right...after all, Freeform didn't just decide to give it a second season, it will move out of the summer next year. Maybe the good Wo M helped. Or freeform registered an uptick of subscribers. Who knows.

I'm glad this show got renewed. It's certainly interesting. I hope they don't take so long on getting things going next year.

Caught up. Episode 8 had me annoyed and depressed, but the last two were good. I mean, 8 was good, it was just a depressing kind of good.

Is that thing where Ty's powers ate Connors a thing he can do in the comics? Because my first thought was some sort of Cannibalism Superpower, but Ty definitely didn't act like he just killed a man. He even said he would have liked to kill him with a light dagger. Also, fuck you Connors, in the middle of a zombie apocalypse is not the time for your revenge bullshit.

I presume that O'Reilly is now a character from the comics. I wonder if her gaining powers and going crazy is fate screwing Ty and Tandy over for refusing to just let one of them die. I hope not, though, because that wouldn't make sense; he tried to die and that didn't work.

Speaking of the Divine Pairing, I find it interesting that none of the previous pairings had powers. I had assumed that they did. That puts things in a new and interesting context. I'm thinking that Ty and Tandy were always the Divine Pairing, but fate gave them superpowers on top of that to let them escape the cycle. We'll see.

I kinda got the weird sense at the end that Ty and Tandy had lost their powers. I dunno, just something about the way the scenes were framed, and how they'd done their jobs, all that. But I doubt it, if for no other reason than there's a second season on the way.

Also liked how the cops were ultimately portrayed. Yes they were corrupt, but most of them thought they were meting out justice to a cop-killer. And obviously it's okay to bend the rules to get rid of a cop-killer, right? It was more subtle than most of the aesops in the show, but it still made it clear that this is why the rule of law is important.

Ty's powers are basically a fate worse than death in the comics. I think it applies here too.

Nah, I think the difference was simply that society had put certain expectations and restrictions on the earlier pairs which lead to them not fighting together.

The divine pairing stuff kind of bugged me. Not because it exists but because it was such a big info dump that took up a lot of the episode. I think I would have preferred an American Gods style thing where each episode opens with a story.

[up][up][up][up] O'Reilly is the TV show version of Mayhem. In the comics she produces a venom that paralyzes people and forces them to tell the truth when she scratches them. She's kind of a Punisher-style antihero but specifically targets corrupt cops.

In the comics, Ty's powers transport the victim to a fear dimension. He can either eat them or spit them out later but I feel like he doesn't have control over that here?

[up]I agree, I think the extra Divine Pairing stories made the episode feel kind of cluttered, and there was already a lot going on.

I suspected that Ty transported the cop into a fear dimension.

I wonder whg Connors never considered using Diane's death against O'reilly in some way. She was the one who shot him after all.

Also, surprised I never noticed til now that Connors shares a last man's with Curt Connors aka the Lizard.

the stories were good, but goddess yes, they needed to have been spread öut across the season, because at the end there I was just going.. "Enough already"

Finished Episode 3 now, and I've gotta say that they are really overdoing it with the dream vision stuff.

Seems like they were inspired by Legion on that one, but they are doing it nowhere as good.

And they're very different than Legion. Legion was trippy as hell, here the dreams are simpler, albeit filled with symbolism. I highly doubt they were making any attempt to ape Legion.

Yeah, crazier isn't always better. The dreams in Cloak and Dagger are about character development, we are supposed to understand them. They are also not just random dream sequences, they are a manifestation of their power, of hope and fear.
