*to Finley* Milklett was a farming village and one of the earliest affected by the plague. Trade stopped a couple weeks ago and an expedition sent there was lost.

*meanwhile, Jani reaches the beach and gets a taste of digging in sand...and more or less right at the water table, no less. she can't dig for too long as the tunnels easily collapse in on themselves, and she can't dig deep due to reaching wet sand. She doesn't really like it much, aside from the view.*

I see within Delcatty's mind and pick up on an awful sight. I flash back out of it.

Wait, are any of us supposed to be seeing the Delcatty at this point yet?

(I'm a bit relieved that we may get some time to chill. It's been a long day, and that water looks really nice.)

He's supposed to be mostly hidden, however Larson gets a pass, considering he's psychic.

The cat stops. Suddenly feeling himself searched. He looks back to the group, looking for the source. "How annoying. I'll find them later..." and he begins moving again.

"Oh jeez..." Almost immediately, Finley realizes what happened.

"I... I see."

"Well," [I address Marlon, patting him against the shoulder, a little awkward from my height,] "if you really want to, we could...take another random detour, relax a little...we don't have to fling ourselves headlong into this...thing just yet..." [...and hopefully, we won't cause any trouble. Yea, I stuck outside of the restaurant while the others ate, I was good on the berries the others had gathered...plus all that commotion that was going on inside, going in to deal with it, especially when I'm just continuing to feel like shit, was a bit of a turn-off...plus more bolts of lightning sparked off me while I was waiting, though that was a bit of a constant during our trek, and I had to stay a ways behind the group because of it for most of it.]

[I look around and see Jani heading off towards the beach.] "See?" [I smirk.] "She's got the right idea."

"We need to take a brief breather, so I'd like to have some Rn R", I say to Eliot.

Meanwhile, on the beach, a Froslass is floating behind some kind of stand, emitting an icy aura that does well to counteract the extreme heat getting beaten down on everyone. Behind her are a number of crates stacked with various items, most of them bottles of assorted liquids.

"You'd do well to stock up on ice! Cold, cold, ice!" she said, addressing anyone who would listen. "Alas, the weather is heatstroke-inducing today! We wouldn't want anyone to be burning up in the sun, would we? Of course not! Nobody likes that! That's why you want ice! To prevent sudden death!"

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."

Noriaki looks down upon hearing about Milklett.

"... That is rather unfortunate", he comments quietley, "But all the more reason we need to find out about this dilemma and hopefully find a way to fix it."

I notice the froslass. Even getting near it has me feeling cooler.

"Wow, you're basically the pokemon air conditioner!" I say to Froslass.

*Jani takes the bait, given her sheer ignorance of her own body* H-heat stroke you say? *she slogs through the sand over to the nameless Froslass, seeking shade in the process* I haven't been in this kind of heat before...I'm pretty new at... *think carefully, Jani!* ...new to places like this. I usually spend most of my time underground with the other Digletts.

"Looks like I made it here in time for the beach episode," a voice spoke up from the beach.

"Hm?" I see what appears to be another bird pokemon landing with our favorite bug, Andy.

(As I follow the others to the Froslass, I walk by the sunglasses-clad Swampert lifeguard. She seems to be asleep and sitting on an ice block, which I figure she got from the Froslass.)

What? Have you never seen a Swampert before? Much less one that was a lifeguard? Quit your starin'.

(Oh, if only she knew how right she was. I sheepishly move along, embarassed for standing there staring at her while not realizing she wasn't asleep.)

The Froslass chuckles at the Gallade's comparison, holding a hand to her mouth. "Well, I've never heard it put like that before. But yes, I do condition the air. Of course, I work at this stand, so I couldn't follow you around. That's why you want ice! Like this," she says, conjuring a chunk of ice by freezing the moisture in the air, before dropping it into a half-empty cup of water somebody had left on the counter. "See, ice is very useful, and not just for preventing sudden, unexpected spontaneous combustion!"

She turns to address the Diglett that has approached her. "A-ha! Perfect example. As I understand it, underground-dwelling Pokemon are especially prone to the overheating of internal organs, and so have an additional need for ice. I presume you'd be interested in some, no? Or perhaps a chilled liquid? That way the ice will reside in your body for longer, with added... 'hydration points', shall we say!"

The Froslass catches Dana's eye. She hadn't really noticed it before, but it was kinda hot here, wasn't it... It wouldn't hurt to check the ice out.

She walks over and notices Jani and Marlon already there. "Oh, hi Jani. And... I don't think I caught your name before."

"Hey Vox, would this ice count as one of our paid expenses?"

I then see Dana approach.

"Name's Marlon, yes."

[My stomach growls. ...maybe I should've went into the... Oh, forget that, there is cooling food and nourishment here, no time for dwelling in regert. I walk up to the Froslass, noticing the bottled liquids behind the stand, my mouth watering.] "Um, 'scuce me, you, um...you do slushies—" [Another spark of electricity erupts from me, thankfully only striking against the sand. I gaze over at the spot of impact, gritting my teeth as a feeling of embarrassment hits me as hard as that soothing, soothing coolness.]

(I'm surprised to see Andy show up, and also a little nervous since thanks to we learned at the restaurant earlier.)

Uh...just fine. (I say.) Hey, gang, I'm going for a swim. Anyone else game?

(I hastily leave for the ocean.)

However, she soon snaps her gaze to the Smeargle that comes rushing up to her, now dutifully clasping her hands in front of her. "Ah yes, that we do! Custom-made, as well, as all I have to do is half-freeze 'em and shake 'em up a bit! Maybe you'd even be interested in our brand new R-Soda slushies?"

"Let me see what I can do for you Jani,", I say whilst beginning to scan the beach for some form of shade.
