I suppose so. (Delilah says. I'm surprised she is't offering to fly around to scout the island herself since she's the only other person in our group right now aside from Grigori and Eliot who can fly. But before I can say anything about that, Ozell begins giving us directions.)
Oh, no problem! (I say to Ozell. Which Guildies usually stick around here now, though? It's been ages since we've heard from Voxno.)

I hear yas, Marly. (Marsha nods.) Least acknowledgin' the problem is the first step toward fixin' it, eh?
(Marsha looks around the beach again and notices her old lifeguard's chair a short ways up the beach, sitting there empty. She thinks about how long she's been away with everyone else and can't help but wonder what's been going on without her there to keep her eyes on things.) Gosh, I wondah how long my old chair on the beach has been sittin' empty 'cause I wasn't heres. Hope no one's had any trouble since I've been away from it.
(She stands up and faces in the chair's direction.)

Yeah...just wondering what I've gotta do first. I mean, as long as my leg is messed up like it is I can't use Physical-based moves so I think the first thing to do is learn status moves or something. From dair...who knows.
My attention is also drawn to Marsha's old chair as I go to carefully stand up with her and see what's occurring with it....if anything is, of course.
I don't think anything has necessarily happened since we've started running around. Why don't we check it out?

God; they can't afford electric lights or running water but they sure can bust out their most advanced technology so that everyone can have a go on the ferris wheel. Scarlett steps onto the dock, looking up at it skeptically.
"What's with the ferris wheel? I thought this place was still in the stone age."
She discreetly stretches. Several hours of being cooped up on more than one boat do not agree with her well.

Ripley paused once again. About three times she looked she was about to open her mouth, but stopped just short of actually doing so. She did everything she could to delay giving an answer, pacing, scratching her ruff, scratching her chin, running a claw along the edge of her huge scar, fiddling with papers on her desk...
"Well... I can't tell, when you say 'bring him to justice', if you mean that literally or with inverted commas..." she says, performing the best approximation of that gesture that she can. "Well, in any event, it's not something I want going around, least of all until he's been dealt with. It was thanks to him and his charming little way with words that I've been exiled from Denalsi. He's tricked the residents of Silversand into thinking that it was me who doomed Hoard. ...You try to fix something and that's what you get..."

(Looks like she's not willing to give me a clear answer. Figures. Still, that's another body that could be anywhere in the world. And considering he managed to convince a town to shift the blame away, he might also convince a few others to hide his location. Doubtful they would have enough resources to comb the island, either this one or Denalsi.)
(With all that on the table, I might as well wrap this up.) I won't make any promises on finding him. But dead or alive, I'll make sure he pays for every last Poké. That much I can promise. For the right price, of course.

"It's more, uhh, premodern than neolithic here." [Ozell looks at the two of us strangely while I pass by her and move onto the dock, stretching my nimble frame out on the warm...concrete? Asphalt? Would either of those be premodern or...you know what, half willing to bet it's some slab of stone dug out of the earth by some random Ground-type. When in doubt, blame magic, I guess.]

Royal, deciding to test something, got a running start and sprung up. He was able to jump notably high in this body, as noted by his slight flailing in the air before he was able to re-stabilize his position.
The Raboot landed on the dock and hoped a bit upon landing again for falling into a proud pose.
"Mission successful! Nice to know I'm now a rabbit Mario."

Yeah, it's not like we're in Bedrock now. (I say to Scarlett as we step off the boat.) It's like we're in...uh...
(Before I can think of a suitable comparison, I'm caught a bit off guard when I see someone flying above my head, though I quickly realize it's Royal literally hopping off the boat.) Whoa! Man, Raboot jumps pretty high.
(I still can't help but find it pretty cool to discover Pokémon we never learned about back in our old world.)

(Marsha finds Marlon's decision to look into learning how to do status moves a bit odd given how atypical for a Gallade that is, but, eh, Marlon's a determined guy. She figures he could make something like that work somehow.) Status moves, eh? Well, if that's what yas are gonna start out with... (She says with a shrug.)
(Marsha turns her attention back to her lifeguard chair and walks over to it. Upon reaching it, Marsha climbs into it and sits down.) Ahh, just like old times. (She says.)
(However, what Marsha failed to notice before climbing up to sit in it was someone else's belongings (a pink and flowery satchel and a pair of sunglasses) and a shiny new life ring sitting on the other side of the chair.)

I dunno, Marsha, that in of itself might be something I need to think about because this thing's coming along much better than I thought. It's almost like the infection wasn't anywhere near as bad as that doctor thought—
Uh. She sat down in that chair. Her old chair. And someone else's possessions are in there. That pretty much means that someone else became the lifeguard around here while she was gone.

The twins, with the help of their father, managed to borrow a boat from the harbormaster in Becchel. As of now they've been out on the open ocean for several hours but they'll soon land on Denalsi.

Um, they're mine. (Marsha snaps her head up to see a shiny Inteleon coming their direction. Given the remnants of a sandwich in her hand, it appears that she has just come back from Malcolm's deli.) Ma'am, I'm going to have to ask you to leave my lifeguard chair.
YOUR chair? Who are you? (Marsha asks.)
My name is Madeline and I'm the lifeguard on this beach. You're in my seat, so please get down, ma'am. (The Inteleon says, walking past Marlon to the bottom of the lifeguard chair. Marsha sits up on the chair sputtering for a moment before starting to climb back down, grumbling all the way.)

I stand there almost completely stunned by this development. Who in their right mind let this girl become the lifeguard in Silversand while Marsha went with the rest of us on the adventures we had been on??? With a bit of my confrontational blood bubbling back to the surface I approach the chair and confront this Inteleon.
Um, yes, hello, but who let you take charge of watching over this beach? Just because Marsha has been gone for over three weeks doesn't just mean they could easily replace her. As her boyfriend I want to know when that happened and why.

Mila and Autumn file off of the boat, with the former looking to the path ahead while the latter takes another glance at the ferris wheel and the lonely carnival. It reminded her of a brief moment of levity between their early adventures, and for that she was thankful... even if the rest wasn't something she wished to return to.
"I guess we should get ready for a hike, huh? I hope everyone's been keeping in shape."
"Honey, I'm still barely rested after a week away from all this chaos. I don't think you need to worry about me not being in shape."
"Right, well... everyone here?"
Mila takes a look around, her tail swishing as she waits on the mons to disembark and for their search to begin. Something about the relative silence of the place has helped calm her down and see the island in a new light. It almost seems nice now, with its clustered forests and rocky shores. Were it only not the beginning of so much concern and fear for many of the mons gathered here.
"... We should really go back and explore the ruins some time. The ones we discovered by Orichalcum."

Ripley put her wings together once again, taking a minute to turn around and glance out the window as she thought about something. She sighed and shook her head, turning back to face Grigori.
"...Dead. I want him dead."
Having said that, she stepped even further in, leaning over slightly as if trying to emphasize their height difference.

They told me there was an open position for lifeguard because they hadn't heard from the old one in almost a month, so I took the job. (Madeline explains.)
But I always meant ta come back! (Marsha protests.)
Hey, they told me that you told them that you would only be gone for a couple of days, and then they never heard from you again. (The Inteleon says, getting visibly annoyed.) Can you really blame them for looking for someone else?
Well-! Well...! (Marsha tries to think of something else to say, but cannot, feeling that Madeline has a point. She audibly groans and kicks at the sand, arms crossed.) Dang it, I guess it did look like I just dropped off the face of the earth to them, didn't I? I nevah even thought about tellin' them I'd be gone longer than that the whole time.

I...well, yeah, believe us when we say that she didn't think that she'd be gone for more than a few days.
I take a deep breath and step back from trying to push it any further with this girl and try to push it in a different direction.
Listen, girls, this is really nobody's fault. After those few days things kinda continued to compound further on themselves, and it wasn't just like at any point we could just take a break...until basically now. Trust me, we'd like to tell you more.

On the dock, an Alolan Marowak watches as a bunch of guys arrive. He looks down at the little note he was given and looks up to compare it with the newcomers. Raboot, Raichu, two Braixens, an Inteleon, Goodra, Dragonite, and an Absol. Yeah, it all checks out. He approaches them and calls out."Hey! Are you guys the, uh..." He looks down at his list and makes a confused scowl. "Ex... humans?" If I don't clash, I don't change. The world ends at my borders, and the best moments slip away.

(I notice Daniel wandering off. I wonder where he's going? Before I can ask him, though, I hear someone calling out to us and see an Alolan Marowak standing nearby. For a brief moment I think it's that Raumati guy until I realize this guy looks different from him.)

(Madeline seems a bit intrigued, but before she can say anything else, there is a sudden commotion from behind them.)

(Marsha looks up at her old lifeguard chair and sighs.) Now what am I gonna do? I know I shoulda said somethin' but...it feels kinda unfair since THEY didn't tell me I had been replaced either. I'm beginnin' ta wish I nevah left heres...

Shit, I've gotta come up with some way to comfort Marsha here. Taking to one side of her I try to justify what we essentially went through.
Hey, it wasn't all bad, you know? After all, you've gotten to travel around multiple different islands, seeing places you probably wouldn't have seen otherwise, feeling some kind of gratification for stopping all of the psychos we've met—and after all, we probably wouldn't have fallen in love with each other if you never left here.
After giving her a brief peck on the forehead I make one last question.
Am I not right? We can still go on these adventures, because we've got each other, and all of our friends have got our backs, too.

(She looks in the direction of Silversand's town hall.) Still, though, I feel like I should go ovah there and apologize for not at least sayin' somethin'.

Nearing the Docks
"I think so...man, it's really been this long, hasn't it..." [Andy's presence in the group feels almost like a distant memory at this point; are we sure he wasn't just a figment of everyone's imagination like that Zangoose or Cyk? No, wait, Cyk was real, too...wonder what she's up to?] "I guess if he's not there, we just, uhh...find another inn? Circle around the island tomorrow? I guess I could fly around if that's what we need..."
[Ozell sits towards the cabin.] "Well, hope ya get yerself that dough! We're approachin' the dock now, so just sit tight. The only other thing Lihn asked me to tell ya is to, ahhh, notify the guildies here on the island once ya find yer mark, she said."
The boat circles around to line itself up parallel with the slab of a dock ahead, the light early-evening wind doing nothing to hinder its forward progress. Eventually, the boat runs near flush with the dock, the Aipom as before jumping off onto it to leash the boat while Ozell thrusts a lever down with her paw, the sploosh of the anchor dropping behind the group. With that, the boat comes to enough of a full stop, and the captain herself then moseys around the cabin to push down the plank.
