He tries to turn his head to watch out for his pursuers or incoming attacks, but he’s caught by Grigori’s Spirit Shackle. The spectral chains are tugged by his momentum and he falls over, onto his face. ”Urgh!” The stumble also causes him to be hit by the Flamethrower, which wouldn’t do much under most circumstances, but considering the damage he’s already taken… He still manages to retain consciousness, but he’s definitely not in good shape.
If I don't clash, I don't change. The world ends at my borders, and the best moments slip away.

That would probably be best... (I agree. I don't want to risk making the argument any more volatile than it's already appearing to be becoming. Noticing that Marlon had wandered back over in our direction at some point, I motion for him to do the same if he wants to.)
Fight scene
(Marsha stumbles back to everyone else still around the alley.) Well...dis is happenin'...? (She says, looking back at the fleeing Nyquil for a bit before turning back.) Da rest 'a yas okay?
(Cole gets back up to his feet with assistance from Gene and Dodie. Aside from a small scrape on his belly where Niles struck him and being rather wet, he doesn't seem worse for wear. The three of them trudge back toward the others, occasionally looking back at the fleeing Quilava and everyone chasing him.)
Whoa! They got 'im! (Dodie says once Niles ends up restrained.)
Oh, indeed... (Gene also notices.)

Noriaki seems speechless. For a fraction of a moment his eyes flash with anger which Autumn may see some hellish imagery in for a moment, but he breathes out and composes himself.
Notte comes close, looking more offended than Noriaki, but the Decidueye holds out his wing.
"Let it be, Notte", he said, "She has been through a lot... And besides, she has made it plenty clear that Niles is the most important one here. Not what L'Arachel had done to me, not her constant predatory nature, not her ambition to turn the world in a mindless, unified choir of supplication towards her... No, rather it is that L'Arachel did something to Niles that truly is what she cares for. Never for my pain, my trauma, especially not yours or Montresor's. Those poor souls also under her... I imagine must also be irrelevant. I understand. I know truly few here would give their allegiance to me for this cause if not for Niles. I acknowledge that."
Notte backs away humbly, still close behind Noriaki. Montresor has come as well.
"... We are not special", said Montresor, "Rather, Nyquil is. His heart is sealed tightly shut in an extremely potent manner and all he cares for currently is carrying out orders. Orders which are lethal to us. Also, we do have ideas on how to purge this hex from his heart. But it is not as simple as Dorian and Hector's previous cases. This is why we either wish to seek out Hikari or allow Noriaki to incapacitate and try to tear it out by force if he can. In both of these cases, Nyquil will attempt to hamper us, and we must fight back."
Nephenee approached, seeming a bit fiery, "And how dare you talk to Nori like that? You realize how much it's taking out of him to go through with this? To face this wench that's abused him in practically every way? And you talk to him like that? Maybe you'd have more of a right to boss us around if you did more than just bitch and moan about us using combat against VIOLENT enemies, at least try and Protect some of us or something, don't just sit on your high-Horsea and talk down to all of us while you clearly don't seem to be f-"
"No need for such coarse words, please", said Noriaki, "Autumn has made herself clear. I will simply continue to fight my own war, as well as hers as she refuses to despite wishing it to be resolved. Nyquil will be returned and she can go live peacefully and quietly with Mila while those outside their walled garden to none her concern. It is almost funny... Her eyes reminded me of Hikari at first, and some of the care she displayed, but as of late she seems more like L'Arachel, almost. I suppose I was just nostalgic all around, then..."
Noriaki turns and steps forward. He tips the front of his hat over his eyes, but he notices Nyquil got hit by the Spirit Shackle.
"... He is restrained."

Wait! That must mean that the Flamethrower mi- nope. No, it hit. "Shit!" She quickly takes advantage of the opportunity to run over to him, hoping to high hell it didn't knock him out.

The Food Stand alleyway
Kevin had gone back toward the food stand and is trying to explain the situation to Tom, with Timmy having now come back unharmed.
So...he's under L'Arachel's influence and the group you chose to ally yourself with has to snap him out of it and stop her?
Yes, sir, and that missing Teddiursa child you may have seen missing posters floating around for.
Tom thinks. Should he serve a group that now comes off to him as dangerous? ...Yeah, they're dangerous, but they're putting an end to the reign of terror of a very dangerous woman who's been terrorizing many a mon on Harnicara.
W-well...if you all have to leave soon, I can provide a bag full of assorted poffins and mini-pancakes from our stacks for you all to chow down on wile you go to wherever you have to go next.

Autumn stops herself and reconsiders what she's about to say. The hypocrisy burns inside her and she just wants to scream, but something she'd been taught rings inside her head. Anger won't get her further. Summer had told her that as a kid, after a young screaming match. Why'd it taken so long to pop back up? She could have used that advice.
"... do you really think I don't care? I'm sorry, but I care for everyone, that's why I did all this. I could have stayed in Foxfell, but I didn't. I could have stayed back, but I went with you. I did protect others, Eliot and Dinah when they were trapped by this. I'm worried for everyone, and of course I worry a lot about Niles. You should get it. This is supposed to be about helping people, not revenge. Clearly it is revenge for you, though, if you think that L'arachel is the real goal here."
Autumn pauses for a bit, but the Decidueye's final comment deserves note as well.
"You hurt me, Noriaki. And you meant it too, didn't you? Am I really as bad as her for wanting to keep everyone safe? I know I hurt Mila, I shouldn't have, but she's her own person. I deserve that."
As the Quilava falls over, Mila rushes in towards him and tries to cover him, protecting him from the attacks that may be aimed towards him. It's frustrating to see all this, but she has to do what she can in this chaos.
"Hey, are you okay? I don't want you to get hurt."
Mila puts a paw on Niles' shoulder, fearing for what has happened to him in the time that they'd been separated. Was this what Autumn felt like last night? She'd done a terrible thing, then.

He doesn’t say anything to Mila or the Growlithe. He snarls and tries to free himself from the shackles, but to no avail. He sighs and lies down in the ground, defeated. Unless Grigori makes a fatal mistake, then it’s no use. He’s lost.

"He's okay!!" Whitney says, almost bursting with excitement... Before she quickly corrects herself. "I mean, he's okay."
She refrains from touching him, he almost looks feral. Instead, she turns to Mila. "What do we do now? Do we bring him back to the inn maybe?"

(Upon seeing the Quilava stop dead in his tracks, I moved in closer, knowing the Shackle managed to hit. On a nearby building, I perched and responded to the renegade Niles.) You're only making this worse for yourself. No shame in quitting while you still can. (I still kept a close look out for any Combee drones looking to save him.)
(Zelda moved in, but still kept her distance, waiting for any sudden moves. Eliza noticed the Quilava being stopped and ran faster to help out.)
(Meanwhile, Arsene is trying his best not to reprimand the Braixen for her entirely naïve worldview. Unfortunately, due to the constant arguments, he looked to the princess and glared at her, keeping his voice down against the anger in his words.) So you want things to get better but you just aren't willing to do something about it? Go ahead. Do what you want. Just don't drag the rest of us with you. Unless you're willing to grow up and actually-
(Claude got between the group and the princess, frustrated at the situation.) Enough! This is not the place to argue! We are a team! And we must not let all this divide us and make her job easier! I understand that you do not want to hurt others, and I understand that we cannot let her win, but we cannot get anywhere by fighting now. (Arsene wanted to scold the Aegislash in that they're not a team, but he decided that all this is getting us nowhere. He didn't want to say anymore to the Braixen.)

(Gene eyes the fruit stand again and looks to Cole's scrape.) Cole, Dodie, go to Tom's food stand and get a good Berry for that abrasion. I will see if there's anything I can help with over there. (He says, motioning to the restrained Niles.)
Sure, Gene. (Dodie says. She and Cole head towards Tom's stand.)
(Gene heads over to where Mila, Whitney, Woodruff, and Grigori stand over Niles.) Is there anything I may help with? (He asks.)

Oh, they did actually take care of it before he got there. But they've subdued him! And he looks to be simply resting on his haunches right now. Woodruff bounds over towards the ones who were pursuing him and skids to a stop.
"Everyone okay," he asks the others. "And Nyquil...yea, Nyquil. He'll be okay?" He looks down at the Quilava, and yep, he's still conscious. He follows up Whitney's question, "That's fine. Maybe we stop by that family's stand 'n get food for everyone first."
As Woodruff says this, another Neyad swoops in on the scene: the Swanna that saw Woodruff and half the group into town last night.
"What sort of ruckus is this?" The Swanna then looks down at the dormant Quilava. "I didn't see him enter...and who the hell called for a flyer, this could've gotten sorted out without dragging me into—" He notices the other Neyad in the distance. She gives him a brief wave, and he simply groans in response. "Of course she couldn't be bothered to handle this on her own."
"What?! No, it's-—" I scoff and shake my head. "My form slipped my mind and I tried to Sketch Water Gun from that guard, but...this is rich..." I do my best to hide those formerly-pink molten parts of me. "Look, it's not important. I still need food, and Niles needs to be...I dunno, properly restrained, put to sleep, something. We can't exactly tote him around when he's like this..."
Whitney thinks about Woodruff's suggestion.
"Well we can't just leave him here. He's too dangerous right now. But I feel like something bad would happen if we try to take him back to the inn. Well, while he's still conscious anyway."
She tinkers around in her head for a bit before finally speaking again. "What if, while everyone was getting food, someone stood guard of him here? Or two people if you prefer. Would that work, maybe?"

(She begins heading back to Tom's stand. After a moment, I begin heading that way myself, looking back to see if Marlon and Eliot are following.)
If it is not too much trouble, I could help keep guard over him while everyone eats. (Gene offers after hearing Whitney's suggestion.)

"You don't look like a royal guard of either side, Furret," the Swanna snaps back at Woodruff. "I'll concede to the Growlithe's suggestion, if I shall be the one to watch over the Quilava...but, having one of you stand guard as well would be splendid." He gestures towards Gene when he suggests guarding Niles. "Like him, yes," he blurts out eagerly. "Oh, and perhaps one more as well...anyone at all, I don't mind!"

Since it would seem that the party wants to eat now, they would head down the now-reopened gate to find Timmy and Linda setting tables and plates, four pancakes high, in conjunction to a myriad of other poffin rolls and juices. There's also a container of straight berries for those who'd need their effects-hints of Linda's past as a medic.

Mila looks over at the others w(e)arily. They seem fine with Niles for now, but their actions were still clear earlier. She's not going to let the Quilava out of her sight if it means risking him sustaining more wounds. She does wonder, though, about where that burst of energy had come from during the chase.
"Hey, Woodruff. Could you bring some food to us here when you're done?"
"Ah'll take care a' that. Ah got more ways ta carry things anyhow."
Koss finally catches up with the group, having slowed down his hovering speed once the chase had finished. He's glad to see that everything's wound down, though as he'd left he'd caught a trace amount of the argument back at the inn and isn't looking forwards to returning to it.
"So, shall we go? The food was smellin' good an' y'all seem famished."

The hunger, the adrenaline rush of Nyquil's sudden assault, and the stirring emotions of this entire quest led me to lose my temper and speak entirely out of line", said Noriaki, pulling the front rim of his hat more over he face, "Whatever your intentions, wherever your care is placed, is not mine to judge. I will accept and even support whatever those may be, and in the end, we are in fact on the same side and should act as such. And right now, there is an important matter to attend to."
The Decidueye began making his way to Niles.
On his way there, he whispered to himself once he was out of earshot. Or so he thought.
"Do not worry. You all need only put up with me for one last day, and then you shall all be rid of me. And I will express gratitude for your patience before gratefully vanishing."
Montresor was already flying near him, unbeknownst to him.
"Noriaki..."
"I must apologize as well", said Notte with a bow, "I had not said much, but I clearly expressed my loss of temper. It was not appropriate at all and I do wish to carry myself with more dignity if I am to be an ally of yours."
With that, he followed Noriaki as well.
"Yeah I guess... I got way too heated", Nephenee sighed, "I just got really annoyed with how things were getting."
"The Aegislash is right", said Achilles, "Regardless of whoever thinks they're in the right for this debate, we're all in this together against that tyrannical madwoman. We shouldn't be tearing each other apart, that'll just make things easier for her."

(As we get there, I notice the Emboar and Venusaur already seated. The Emboar seems to be eating some berries for a noticeable scrape that he must have gotten during the fight with Nyquil.)
(I look back at Niles and everyone still surrounding him for a moment before I have a seat. Oh, this food looks and smells very good...)
(Gene remains seated by Niles and the others still around him.) This whole incident has made it all the more important that none of us end up brainwashed by the witch...we do not want something like this happening again. (He remarks.)

Dana quietly worked her way back to the others who'd stayed behind. Normally she'd be all for trying to get Niles back, but this recent incident has her.. shaken. She listens to the others for a while, all the while thoughts stew in her mind.
... What would've happened if the others hadn't come? I'm glad they came, but..
She gives Autumn a somewhat irritated glance, but none of her other thoughts leave her lips.
If.. Would she have preferred people didn't come after him? Or if they'd tried to talk to him first? He was shooting Flamethrowers at me, what was I supposed to do..?
She shakes her head.
I'm probably projecting or something.. That's not what she meant by the things she said, right? I guess I'll just.. ignore this feeling. Like I usually do...
To anyone looking at her, it doesn't seem like she's really been thinking about this at all.

Autumn turns away from the crowd and walks over towards Eliot, Dinah, and Marlon. She gets the feeling all this did more harm than good, and with events so far that's something she was hoping to avoid. Even then, it was always the heat of the moment that caused problems. That it always seemed to come down to the fact that she refused to fight. How could she try to find common ground when that was always thrown in her face? She wasn't about to just give it up because someone was going to yell at her, that much was clear. She hadn't in the face of L'arachel and the chaos yesterday, after all.
"Am I wrong, Eliot? You heard all that, what do you have to tell me?"
Hopefully it'd at least be a reasonable response talking to just one individual.

Oh wow, what the fuck has happened? Ok, ok, lemme process this:
So Grigori shot an arrow. Nyquil got trapped into the arrow. Noriaki tries to explain. Angry Braixen is angry at Noriaki. Noriaki's girlfri—I mean...comrade?...is angry at Angry Braixen. Eliot's tail's dripping blue. Bouncers are happy because of Nyquil getting caught. The owner of the food stand is aware about L'Arry. The owner is going to give us lots of pancakes...ugh. Angry Braixen is hurt and stops being angry...finally. Mila tried to warm up to Nyquil. Nyquil growls and accepts his defeat. Claude tries to end the argument. Bouncers (except the Infernape) go to take Berries. Then the Swanna guard (that I called a damsel a day ago) arrived. The Swampert is hungry. The guard will watch over Nyquil. Yadda yadda, everyone's hungry, explaining how that Sketch thing works, yadda yadda, everyone apologized (and so I did), Gene hopes nobody will get brainwashed. Then that Alolan Vulpix starts to follow us....and...and...that happened....
What. The. Fuck.
That's so weird, but at the same time it's so awesome!! If these things will happen again, and I'm sure they will, then I've got to stay tuned for that, hehehe.

Tom's Food Stand
Indeed, as the party continues to file in to the stand there are nine tables, each having been set by Linda and the two boys, in a 3x3 grid. The Emboar and Venusaur currently occupy the middle table in the middle row. Dinah finds herself in the middle table on the bottom row. At the same time, food is slowly beginning to be brought out; one meal will be pancakes with some berry juice and a poffin roll.
Oh, good to see you've all decided to come here after...all of whatever that just was. Come, come! Your food is beginning to be brought out!
What did he just say? He's going to just vanish from our lives? He can't, won't, and shouldn't, he's probably one of the biggest reasons we've been able to keep so steady in the face of everything having gone so wrong. As I arrive at a random table (top-right) and before I can even think again I've got Rainmaker breathing down my throat.

"Autumn..." I want to speak further, but I don't feel the need. Both her and Noriaki have a point here, but...
Dinah then catches my attention. "What?" I then look down at...oh. That's...blue? And it's sticking...and it's not melting anything. I pick up my tail and drag the tip of it across my finger...it's paint. I look at the patch of molten on my palm, it's as blue as the paint on my finger.
"..." I let my tail fall to the ground—I shift it until it's fully under me—and cross my arms inside my shawl. I didn't think of this when I was shifting...what the hell, brain? This feels perverse...it could be useful, but it's still perverse.
"...Dinah, I say we should have these three sort this out in their own." I then go over and try and pull away Dinah from the current conversation. This tail thing and the uncomfortable silence that Autumn rendered, nothing productive can come of those two occupying my mind at the same time.
Woodruff continues to run towards Nyquil. He's not really doing a good job gaining on them, but he knows he could try and lend a Helping Hand. A small ball of electricity forms in front of him, and bringing his head and neck around, he swings his upper body as the spark sails and spins and arcs straight for Mila.
Drat! There's too many people in the way, and the assailant is gaining distance. The Neyad procures a small whistle and blows into it. Two short blasts: need backup. One long tone: one guard necessary. Another long tone that trails upward towards the end: a flyer needed.
