ITT: We Have All Become Pokémon

Jack is belowdecks swabbing the floor, having finished cleaning the deck of the ship. The lower decks weren't well lit despite the holes in the ship's exterior, the captain deciding to spare money on lamps. He was in the front section of the lower decks, so hardly anyone was around since the storage was in the back of the ship.

The second mate of the ship walks out of his cabin. The Feraligatr was a dark blue in color. He has a black birthmark on his snout that covers the top jaw. His back scales were painted silver to show his rank as second mate. His yellow eyes gleamed maliciously as he kicked over Jack's bucket and spat at him.

Snaptooth:   The captain may be going easy on you but I won't! I'm not as soft as he is! That's my welcoming gift to the fresh prey!   

Jack clutched his mop in anger. Snaptooth laughed in a mocking tone as he sees Jack's expression.

Snaptooth:   Awwww, that's so cute! The newbie thinks he actually has a chance against me! HAR HAR HAR HAR, as if! Besides, whose word would the captain believe, the new recruit or someone who's been here for years and far outranks you? The captain wouldn't be happy to find out that his new recruit attacked one of his superiors! So if you value your job you should just zip it!   

Jack slightly loosened his grip on his mop, showing pained expression as he knows the Feraligatr was right. Snaptooth grinned wickedly.

Snaptooth:   Heh heh, smell ya later, punk!   

Snaptooth went abovedecks, leaving Jack to clean up the new mess.

Foxfell, Docks

*upon taking in the scars, the young Lillipup can't help but be in vocal awe* Oh wow, things are pretty rough out there aren't they? *then sets whatever she was carrying down and picks up a large box, one of many filled with goods she'll start selling in her store tomorrow. She does give an initial* Urrrggghh... *as the little pup hoists (and balance) the heavy box on her back, but she doesn't complain...somewhat used to this routine*

*as she carries the first of many boxes back to the wagon, she tells the Captain* Same goes for anywhere, huh? Foxfell's pretty safe, but my parents always told me to stick within its borders...the canyons, mountains, that creepy manor by the coast...I've heard mons go there and never come back!

Captain Warfridge: The sea is like that too... some people who set sail on it are never seen again... just another one of the mysteries of the sea...

The arguing of Warfridge's men in the background escalates as they start slugging at each other near the ship's wheel, knocking over a pile of cannonballs in the process. The cannonballs go over the railing through the floor of the main deck, crashing through the rotten timbers all the way though the ship, creating a hole in the ship large enough that the ship noticeably starts sinking.

As the ship begins to arc backwards from the water leak Captain Warfridge immediately takes action.

Captain Warfridge: WINTERTUSK, ICE BEAM!

The Walrein quickly used Ice Beam on the water leak, sealing up the holes in the process. His golden tusks gleamed in the beam's light.

Captain Warfridge: ...and that's why I always keep at least one person who knows an Ice-type move on board.

Foxfell, Docks

Whooooooaaa! *Lilly the Lillipup briefly loses balance as the ship shakes, her legs shaking of a light struggle as she attempts to re-right herself. Pretty used to falling over with heavy loads, though, she manages to stabilize herself on all fours and continues moving goods back and forth, though she can't help but comment* You guys sure live dangerously, huh? Seems kinda cool! Maybe when I get older I could be a traveling merchant!

*on one of her many transits, she looks down in the newly created hole at the ice patch, and says* I'll try to remember that...but what happens if they're not on board? Isn't that gonna melt someday?

Captain Warfridge: Oh, it's just a temporary fix, as we buy replacement boards once we move into port every time that happens.

Snaptooth arrived just in time to see the aftermath of the leak. It didn't take long for him to follow the trail of destruction to the two arguing sailors who started the mess, who are now fighting each other in a good ol' fashioned fistfight. Snaptooth goes up to them and stops their fight by wringing their necks with one claw each before bopping their heads together for doing such a stupid thing, then releases them once they learned their lesson.

Foxfell, Docks

*Lilly the Lillipup stops and stares at Snaptooth's harsh treatment of the staff. This time, she's actually somewhat intimidated by the spectacle, and after it's through, she continues transiting goods back and forth, head down and visibly nervous. She has no words for what she just saw*

Captain Warfridge glared in annoyance at Snaptooth before looking back at Lilly.

Captain Warfridge: Please excuse my second mate's actions. He's a tad rough around the edges, but he's very effective at getting the job done.

He glances at his crew, who are busy removing the excess ice from belowdecks so that the ship can be level again.

Captain Warfridge: Well this is my last stop for a few days as me and my crew will take a well-deserved break, so do you happen to know any local going-ons I should be aware of as we spend our relaxation time here?

Foxfell, Docks

*it just so happens that the goods exchange is more or less done by then, Lilly the Lillipup calls back her Tauros friend and he gets hooked back up to the wagon...all the while, Lilly responds to Warfridge's question* Not that I know of...the parades aren't for another few days, and there aren't any festivals or anything going on at the moment...

*as if having an "aha" moment, Lilly pulls out a pad and pencil and starts writing stuff down, telling the captain* I DO know of a nice inn, though, Timmy's cousin's son's uncle works there — maybe they can give you a discount! It's in the nicer part of town, too...

*Lilly hands Captain Warfridge a piece of paper, and by pure coincidence I assure you, it contains directions to the inn the humanmons are staying at* Oh, and they've added checkpoints recently...something about a "failed coo"? Isn't a "coo" what babies do? *the young Lillipup seems completely unconcerned (or at least unaware) about the implications of what she mentioned*

Captain Warfridge takes the piece of paper in gratitude. He turns to his crew.

Captain Warfridge: Well my humble crew, it seems like we're done for the day...

His eyes lay upon the frozen hole in the ship.

...aside from some minor repair work, which I'll leave to those skilled in that area. As for the rest of us, we shall be staying at a local inn. I'll send a scout to check on you soon after we get our rooms. Now, gather your belongings as we prepare to head into town!

As the crew head belowdecks to get ready, Warfridge turns his attention to his second mate.

Captain Warfridge: Snaptooth, come here please.

Snaptooth lumbers over, showing a small mixture of annoyance and nervousness.

Snaptooth:'   Yes Captain?   

Warfridge hands Snaptooth the piece of paper.

Captain Warfridge: I'd like you to be the one to lead us to the inn. I had my turn to lead a party to a destination and Wintertusk had his, so now it's your turn. You're the third in command, so as a leader your sense of direction better not be rusty!

Snaptooth does a slight smirk, subtle enough that the Warfridge doesn't notice it.

Snaptooth:   It would be my pleasure. I won't let you down!   

Captain Warfridge: Now that's the spirit! Now come on, we have things to be packing!

Belowdecks Jack entered his cabin. He opened the cabinet that was in the room, revealing his clothes and accessories that he hasn't worn ever since he got his new job. He changed out of his work clothes and put his old clothes on. How he missed the feel of them.

Marlon > Party, restaurant

(I sit down and again note that noise Goobert made. Nevertheless I try to drum up conversation:)

Well...how do you guys see this mess ending up?

Arcanìn > Party, restaurant

I will return shortly with your menus, mes amis!

(And with that he goes off to do so.)

Stellan > Delara, Sammy, Road to Treasure

(As he rolls forward Stellan again explains his rationale.)

Simply put..once we get there we'll need to find a way back out with the treasure as soon as we can.

So thanks again — this stuff is sure to sell for lots! *showing no business tact whatsoever with her trading partner, Lilly the young Lillipup waves to Captain Warfridge and starts heading down the ramp, her Tauros friend towing everything — she bids the Captain one last* Hope you guys have fun in Foxfell! *before heading back towards her store*

*well, after a somewhat time consuming stop at the checkpoint, anyway...*

But boss, dey looked pretty tough ta me... *Sammy pleads to Stellian, adding* ...how are we gonna get past 'em once they finds the treasure?

Jack joins the rest of the crew as they gather on deck after they've finished packing their things to bring into town.

Captain Warfridge: So you're all ready then. Well in that case, Snaptooth, lead the way!

Snaptooth leads the group off the ship, with Jack following at the rear.

The crew members staying behind then leave the boat in search of wooden planks to patch up the hole, with one of them remaining at the hole to keep it frozen with Ice-type moves.

Restaurant

I sure hope it'll just be either the best case or, at the very least, the expected case. (I say to Salty.) Definitely not the worst case, whatever that'll be...

Marlon > Restaurant Party

Yeah, hopefully things go well...but it still bothers me that they didn't have at least more guards to help stop her from escaping.

(As I say this, our host returns with some menus:)

(He hands out menus to everyone at the table. I've gotten bad at coming up with food, assume that this is a variety restaurant.)

(He awaits orders.)

Salty looks over the options.

"Hmm... could I try some fougasse, matey?"

Stellan's Group, Road to Treasure

"The size of the treasure could also be an issue...what if it's too big to carry? In that case, we could take pieces of it..." She won't expect Stellan to accept only taking part of the treasure...and frankly, neither can she, if they can manage that.

Chez Arcanin-Ami

[Having sat down and taken a menu, I start looking it over, my mouth beginning to water just from skimming through the initial options. Reading over the description of "gratin delphonois", I can easily imagine the warm, creamy broth the potatoes sit in sliding down my throat. The "ravioles du Auffrac" almost make me jump out of my seat: eggs! There's eggs in it, some actual honest-to-god protein! The "bourride du noix"...yea, no, there's no contest, I know what I'm going with. I put down the menu decidedly and look to the Arcanine chef.]

"Can I have the..." [I have to read it over, I wanna get the name right...] "..ravio-loos dooh Ah-frrac?" [I grin somewhat nervously at my failed attempt at saying the name of the dish, letting out a few chuckles...I glance over at Lucy.] "So, uhh, what strikes your fancy on there, champ?"

Restaurant

(Looking over the menu, I can't help but wonder if they would serve some Pokémon version of ratatouille here. I mean, this place is so much like France back home, after all. However, I ultimately decide to play it safe and just order some spaghetti.)

Uh, I think I'll have the spaghetti in Tamato sauce, please. (I say.)

I'll have the ravioles du Auffracan with an Iapapa salad. (Delilah says.)

Think I'm leanin' towards gettin' dis...however you pronounce da name of dis pie... (Marsha says, pointing to the Maroilles tart.)

(After looking at the menu a bit, Dinah speaks up.) Benji and I will split a large helping of the ravioles, too.

Umm... (Lucy flips through her menu. Her first instinct is to just order a Wiki Berry sandwich, but then she finds herself drawn to the gratin dauphinois.) I want to get the gratin da...daphioys? Looks really good!

Feeling somehow suddenly lost looking at the menu, Mila turns to look at Autumn for support. Still, she feels sick while doing it, realizing that for everything she has to deal with she's just been adding even more.

"You know the food better here, what would you suggest?"

I'm staring at the menu, not knowing what most of these things are.

Marlon < > Arcanìn, Party

Ouí, ouí...

(Arcanìn marks down some of the orders. When asked about the specific way to say the name of the pie, he motions this:)

Ah, yes, the Maroilles tart. Ma-ro-ílles.

I'll have what Marsha is having.

(I note. Arcanìn marks down my order and then turns to anyone who's still undecided:)

And what would you like?]

(After stating this he looks around for a moment. He's looking for Riley, an employee of this restaurant.)

Moniseur Riley! Start on these Pokémon's drinks! Allons-y!

(He also sends initial orders in to the kitchen.)

Stellan > Sammy, Delara

We will think of that when we get there, aye?

(Stellan tells his lackeys. He looks back toward the treasure hunters and taunts them slightly.)

Inside the kitchen, a shiny Shuckle hears the order. "You got it, boss man!" he replies. He finds a stack of glasses and carefully tilts himself so that the juice within his shell pours into them, one by one. Once each cup is filled, he carefully arranges them on a plate to be served. Afterwards, he takes an assortment of berries and eats all of it so that he can refuel.

(I look at the menu and I tried to decipher the French names before noticing the ingredients. I decided on Ratatouille niçoise since it's got plenty of ingredients and I don't have to run the risk of spotting potential cannibals. I spoke to the chef.) I'll take the Ratatou-ill niko-ice. (I sigh inwardly of my butchering of the French language, but seeing as some of us already did so, at least it's not as embarrassing.)

Snaptooth leads the party through narrow streets and alleyways, the crew looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings.

Snaptooth:   C'mon crew, my senses say that the inn is just over these stairs!   

Wintertusk: You'd better be right this time, I'm still not happy that your "senses" lead us into an art studio that had someone singing way out of tune in it! Ugh, I won't be unhearing that anytime soon...

He goes up the stairs and onto a wooden platform that's just outside the Chez Arcanin-Amié, with Wintertusk and Captain Warfridge following close behind. The wooden platform, not being built to withstand three heavy muscular Pokemon all at once, suddenly collapses, sending the three leaders down two stories to the ground.

They crash-land into a pile of crates containing decorative pottery, cushioning their fall and creating such a large amount of noise that those inside the restaurant could hear it.

Arcanin, Símone > Party, ???

(Another server, Sìmone the Houndoom, comes out with the initial wave of food and drinks made from Riley and placed them on the table. As she left (and I grabbed my pie, Arcanin then says whilst scribbling down Grigori's order:)
