Yer mom? I dunno about dat. She does seem rather overbearin' though, but dat's just me.

(She says about Triss and VA.)

Big Guy? Yeah, I've seen his house in Silversand and everythin', he even is my bro's boat man.

(She looks over at me again.)

But I dunno...Marly's my boyfriend and all dat...and I want him ta stay here...ya know what I mean?

(She asks Tilly.)

"She... she tried to hit you? Finley did? Oh dear lord..."

Mila doesn't wait to hear what else Marlon has to say, already knowing that something is seriously eating at Finley for her to even consider attacking one of the group. Having finished the tart, Mila quickly stands up and returns to where Finley is seated. As she passes by she grabs one of Finley's paws and tries to lead her upstairs, so she can talk to her and try to sort this out. Her voice is tender and caring, and she's careful to be sure that there's no hint of judgement of any sort in it.

"Come on, Finley. I want to talk to you about this."

*Tilly nods to Dieter* Right, we met you right after we left — she is the mayor of Agartha, while also the head of a region-wide fashion business — though we're simply a branch family. *talk of the VA and her family causes her speculate out loud* Now that I think about it, it may be likely that any one of the main Terranport estate could be infected. Their prominence in banking would make them a prime target...

*Tilly then turns to Marsha and remarks* Mother's...methods of upbringing never particularly bothered me, but I am beginning to understand their effects on Lilly — not to mention my own... *looking off to the side with somewhat gritted teeth, Tilly continues* ...foolishness for imposing it on Jani.

*though not the sentimental type, Tilly does latch onto the third statement* Not to mention, her situation more or less robbed her of that option — staying, like Marlon might. I actually do know that she was considering staying before she learned about us...

*"Sarah" nods* Kind of — I heard that if someone weak gets it, they're like...still pretty weak. *and then it actually hits her real time, and she adds* ...though unless this king is like...on his deathbed, it's going to be pretty rough. Kings aren't usually weak, y'know?

Foyer

*Tilly nods to Dieter, remarking* Terranport estate management is about as convoluted as you might think, but even the branches do benefit from the main family's work — which is primarily banking and mining.

*then tackling the question, she adds* Learning that she and my actual sister, Milly, swapped both bodies and worlds. Having had time to think about it, I imagine this is only one of two possible occurrences — given the complications of our species. *with lamentation in her tone, she gives Dieter the short version* Neither she nor Lilly nor I were aware of what happened until approximately two weeks later. Needless to say, all of us have been greatly impacted by the event.

"Ah, yeah... with family, I can bet it would be the case."

[I'm situated against a wall, watching the others, waiting for these two hours to just roll on by. After all that's happened today, I honestly don't really feel all that enthused to go out onto the high seas for the night. I kinda half wish they just could wait on us, go over there in the morning, but apparently, time is money.]

[Money. It's kind of cute that they just expect us to care about money. I mean, I do, I want that cushion, but I'd rather get some actual details rather than some nebulous deal about "saving the king". Like, what are we even supposed to do, aside from obviously finding the vector. Is that just expected of us by this point? That we'll find the vector, or they find us? It's not like we're exactly sleuths here, all of the vectors we've come across, they pretty much found us.]

[I'm particularly interested in Sarah's conversation about VA with James (I muse as I somewhat awkwardly stare at the two)...I'm a little surprised with how knowledgeable she seems to be on it, though she does seem very learned...]

"Y'know," [I call out to Sarah,] "I don't think we ever got t'swappin' stories like ya promised." [I grin.] "And you know, I always try 'n keep a promise." [I don't know how much of a lie that is, but I'm guessing it's not a huge one. ...okay, maybe I'm wearing a broken promise, but it's also in tatters and absolutely curtains, so what?]

*as she notices (somewhat surprised) that Eliot was simply standing there all along, "Sarah" is internally resolute. She figures barring being shooed off to the docks, she won't get out of this one without a challenge* Oh, hey! Yeah, like...I don't mind being the one to start. I mean, compared to yours, my life story is totally mundane...

*putting her researched information and rehearsed backstory to use, she continues* I was born in Lunalis, spent most my life there...then a few years ago just bailed to see the regions — get to know more than my little backwater, y'know? Did that for a bit, saving up for college with odd jobs...went to Crystal U, dropped out, like...traveled more...then I met my idol!! *her voice gets really squealy with that last part along with a surprisingly genuine smile on her face, despite having too little time to really get "an idol"...then with an "ahem" she concludes*

...and she like, introduced me to you guys, then just disappeared when I was talking to someone. What's up with that?

*with a smile, she asks Eliot* So what about you? Or are you like...one of those amnesia humans?

She wonders, especially after Finley and Marlon's reactions earlier, that some of them still harbor the "agent of Serris" theory...figuring it best to not push it, she turns to James and asks him* Is something on your mind? All this talk about the past and junk?

"Just wondering what this king will look like. I mean the long lost son is a wailord so I'm now picturing a big one just floating around in the sea with a crown and a big beard " I say to Sarah.

*"Sarah" can't help but burst out in another cat-like (nya-nya-nya) type laugh at the prospect. She then follows it up with an* Oh mon...if I've ever heard of absurd pairings, that like totally takes it... *but then she just guesses* I've never been there, so like...I guess if it's called Slak Rock, it's another Slaking — like the guy's brother...

I mean, I've read about those sorts of mixes... *100% lies lies lies* ...but, like it still totally raises questions, y'know?

*"Sarah" is somewhat taken aback by James' question and the many layers it presents, enough so that she doesn't notice her tics being contagious. She didn't really go much into detail of a rehearsed fake childhood, with "gramps" earlier having been invented on the fly. She knows straight up she sucks as a Purrloin, so no sense in going overboard...and then there's a certain familiar feeling she's been getting. The same one that essentially turned her into Leeroy Jenkins twice so far*

*her "thinking/reminiscing" eventually spits out the following spiel* Well, depends on what counts...y'know? Learning the basics from my folks, but like...I know they went easy on me so that didn't count. Almost getting killed by ferals doesn't count...I just ran...like, it was a rush but...

I mean, I totally didn't get all that into it until recently. Usually just standing up for yourself in a big group is enough to scare off ferals and bandits... *having suddenly realized she needs more civilized fictional enemies* My first real battle, where it was fair and like...totally mattered, was...

Exhilarating...

"...huh..." [...wait...she could have VA...that...could explain her...bountiful knowledge on it...with that, her leaping into the fray when we fought that Ditto, and her gearing up to fight those guys from the carnival...maybe I'm jumping the gun here. I just...kinda got that vibe when she said it...though there's really no need for that kind of speculating at this point...plus if VA is relatively recent, like a month or two at most recent...]

I could have told her for a moment that the shaking of my rock body against what we were sitting on making a constant tapping noise was of excitement for hearing how a battle could bring that out of you. Even though there wasn't the feeling of goosbumbs, that chill going down the spine thing, or even my stomach ready to tie into a million knots at once. But instead... I was scared for that moment and the reason comes out of my non-existant mouth...

"Killed..." I question, and I make sure it was lpoud enough for her to hear. "Like,not just knocked out after battling and that's it? We could actually die? No revives? No pokemon centers... Nothing?"

*"Sarah" realizes it happened again...shit. Why's she suddenly acting this way she wonders...she knows she has to backtrack and fast, plus Eliot's getting on her case. It's a good thing she has the perfect detail to work with in her phony backstory for this...a nugget she picked up from a book about Crystal City. She starts with Eliot's query* Well over a year ago, like...when I was at the university. Some Pawniard gang member — at least I think he was a gang member — totally tried to mug me at the worst possible time. If they weren't like slow, or high or drunk or something, I'd have totally lost. Left a scar around my shoulder...

*"Sarah" lifts some fur around that area, which indeed is a scar. Apparently, the transfer orb moved all of Jani's scars around with "Sarah". She then mentions* Want to know what's totally insane? Those guys just...suddenly disappeared one day. My friends at the time say they got rushed out of town... *she then turns to James to add* ...but that army I told you about? They're the same as that gang! I still write my old friends y'know... *aka, she got lucky with a history book* ...small world, huh?

*she then tackles James' query by saying* ...but, yeah...people totally die. They're born, grow up, and die...I've never heard of revives or "pokemon centers", but I didn't like...kill that Pawniard when I won. They just got up and slinked back to their gang.

*Tilly starts to explain to Marsha about her mother's methods* Her methods were intended to educate us as best as possible, using our species' innate advantages. Each of us were taught a specific subset of skills — though her intent was for us to succeed her, in both business and politics. I think the humans refer to it as her being a Tiger Mom. *she then elaborates about the "friends" part* Of course, we were allowed to socialize...I just happened to prefer reading — Lilly has a number of friends in Agartha, but one must always question just why someone befriends one of a wealthy family...
