It sure looked as though the Balrog had wings, didn't it?!
I hope they make it so that orcs come back from the dead more often. I love it when they do that - it makes it more personal.
Oh God! Natural light!Oh, you.
What I really want to see is the Nemesis system be even more intricate and detailed. More interaction with them. More Developer's Foresight. Just make it seem even more personal.
"The game will also feature an expanded version of the Nemesis system. In Shadow of Mordor, the game dynamically created orcish officers that reacted to their encounters with Talion. In Shadow of War, Warner Bros. promises that the world's environment itself will also be shaped by your play, as well as a new kind of reactive NPC, Followers."
Well okay then.

Holy fucking shit!
This looks absolutely amazing! They did exactly what I wanted them to do, increase the scope and build on the fantastic and incredibly innovative Nemesis system that made the first game so unique. I didn't expect them to add strategic/army-building elements as well!
yeyA bunch of places like Polygon, Giant Bomb, IGN etc have played it as well and have articles and videos up. Can't link currently.
...Holy.
Shit.
THAT LOOKED AWESOME! Seriously, this is what the last game was missing in the endgame, huge armies of orcs battling it out with one another! Plus sieges! New powers! Your thralls help you in fights! Cool new bosses! New locations!
ARGH, I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL AUGUST!
Oh.
My.
GOD.
That... that.... THAT is how you do a sequel.
If that all works as advertised then WOW. And what a way to create interesting dynamic "bro-ships". That Sniper was awesome. AND THE Cavalry was awesome.
Oh wow.
Is this XBOX / Win 10 only then? That may break my PS only streak (Though I could get it on PC....)
Playstation(with Pro support) and Xbox(with future Scorpio support planned). Microsoft looks to have the marketing deal so expect all trailers from the official channel to have Xbox branding.

By the Emperor that was goddamn amazing.
Just don't suck. I'll accept if it's Shadow of Mordor Plus (tho it looks more involved.)
So, the question is Cerebrimbor. It looked like he was kidnapped in the cinematic trailer, but he's still your wraith half in the gameplay vid.
Also, Talion is getting pretty chummy with his minions. He's becoming Saruman 2.0, methinks.

It'll be Xbox live Anywhere, so the PC version will be 4K.

I think the first part of the game is getting him back. Though with that in mind I'm somewhat confused with how Talion is able to live without him. The finale of the last game had his throat open up again when Sauron tore Celebrimbor out.
I wonder if this game will end with some sort of epic siege of Barad-dur with you fighting multiple Overlords as you storm your way to the top.
Certainly seems like they took the change in subtitle seriously, eh.
And now I'm also wondering if you'll also have to defend fortresses from time to time, or fight set piece, open-field battles with other Overlords.
Oh man, I played and beat the first game a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it but this completely destroys it. Can't wait.

This song needs more love.I'm just Achievement hunting in Shadow of Mordor right now. 8/22 is a long, long, long time away (sigh)
If it makes its promises work, GOTY material.
I'm actually kind of reminded of Viking Battle For Asgard with this. You run around the map building armies that you use to conquer fortresses in huge set pieces and have the blessings of one sort-of-ethereal figure.
Maybe it has something to do with forging the new Ring. Or the connection isn't severed so much as stretched; Celebrimbor can't give him most of his powers, but he can keep him alive.
Oh, and one question: Is the game going to be just fortresses, or is there still going to be an overworld with normal collectibles and challenges and whatnot?

And it has been mentioned to be an open-world thing. I'd imagine that Talion will do his Shadow of Mordor thing in various regions of Mordor, and when he gets enough strength together to assault a fortress then it goes into the siege mode.
Pour one out for the Demolisher guy, by the way.
Do Orcs believe in hell when they basically live in one
Worried about them opening up the map, but optimistic.
TBH, my first reaction was "This is amazing!"
I do like the idea of announcing games six months before they're out as opposed to 3 years.
