Which, Ironically, is one of the big reasons he's one of the best characters introduced in this game.

tbh I kind of low-key actually ship Fjorm x Laevatein (post-Book Two, of course).

Speaking of Laevatein and Lancers, I've managed to pull her and B!Hector from the legendary banner.

Did my Arena Assault run and Surtr is pretty much a non-threat. As predicted, his inability to counter at range is crippling, since he can easily be kited to death by a mage and Reposition. I did see one trade out Steady Stance 4 for Distant Counter and it really didn't end well for him. That thing giving him Guard and a stupid amount of Def is why even swords need to be wary of him. Taking that away makes ganking him little different than taking down a Hector.

A!Tiki can take Surtr on pretty well, though that 20 AOE damage always leaves me worried. But overall he's another reason why I tend to fear Wary Fighter over Vengeful or even Bold most of the time.

Out of curiosity, am I the only one who mostly ignored the support system for the better part of last year?

With how volatile my teams can get, I don't really see the point anymore.

But Lyn and Black Knight wield Swords too.

That's why people would've complain about them & I will always give them crap for that piss poor argument.

Reverse the sisters pairing & that's exactly who I ship as well. That's right I'm a filthy shipper! Also pairig Bruno & Al when that's possible.

Times like these are the reasons why I wish I could trade my units since they're clearly people who actually genuinely like these units. And then I realize I'm a hoarder.

I personally think he's the best Heroe's OC because how many tropes he defies. Granted, that doesn't & shouldn't make you a good character but it's a breath of fresh air to say the least. Which is why it's so damn disappointing to see him doing the worst in the gauntlet.

I too love using her to counter Surtr. I also love using Ax Breaker Tobin to kill him & they say you wouldn't accomplish anything Tobin.

Guilty as charged. I only pair anyone up unless it's canon or because they're the 3DS era. Nino & Eirika were the exception to this.

So going through the recent Heroes reddit survey (search for ~ opinion ~) apparently people rather have their favorite units be summonable instead of a free unit. I know there's a good chance something as stupid as Canas could happen but I'm surprise people rather take that much of a chance rather than something guarantee

I think it's mainly because the free units usually have subpar to above average kits. Also I think they all use existing skills for their kits, plus even with grails it'll take a while to merge them.

Not all of them use existing skills. Black Knight brought in Steady Stance 3 and Black Luna when they previously didn't exist. F!Robin is still the only source of B Tomebreaker. Ursula is the only source of Blarwolf. A number of free units also bring their own prf weaponry to the table.

I still utilize the support system for my established teams: my old Arena core (which is also my infantry core and Aether Raids core), my current Arena core (armour core), flier core and cavalry core. The rest find such mercurial placement that I don't usually bother unless I'm looking for that last tiny boost for something like Abyssal maps. This has just been how it is since Arena Assault became a bit of a focus for me. Sometimes I do set temporary supports up for my Tempest teams, though (if I remember).

There's still were good units being TT & GH like Masked Marth & Black Knight. I guess IV's really are that appealing

I don't think it's IVs so much as being able to merge to +10 (and up until recently that wasnt possible with any TT or GHB units) as well as the feeling of having something special.

With a freebie unit everyone gets them. With a banner unit you have to be lucky, and it's sort of like a treasure. Plus nowadays banner units are rarely going to be bad.

So the answer is dopamine addiction.

Sometimes it feels like people forget you can't get your favorite unit on a whim like some posts makes them out to be.

Of course. That's all part of the gacha model and chasing the high.

Anything is possible with a deep enough wallet.

It took me forever to get any sort of Camilla when I started, and now I got her at 5* with Distant Counter and a few merges.

Took a while, and +10ing her will take even longer, but it's a gradual process that luck allowed.

Of course between that I had to watch people that hate her keep getting her by accident and sending her home as a joke.

FEH is reasonably generous with the free orbs, it's not too hard to save up a stockpile, and the gacha is more forgiving than some others I could mention.

And some people are just lucky.

Yeah, say what you will about story, power-creep and really unfitting rythm games, but FEH is actually one of the least exploitative gachas in the market. Getting fre orbs is really easy, there's no "premium currency" that makes game modes or special summoning banners unnaccessible. You have access to 3 5* units from normal gameplay, and upgrading 3 and 4* units is not a waste of time. Not to mention, the 5* rates are downright generous compared to the 1% or less you get in other games like this.

And to undermine my praise, I'll just say the Legendary banner left me with nothing but regret, 2 orbs and a 12.5% rate I can do nothing about

But then you add in Skill Inheritance and I Vs, and suddenly, the gacha doesn't seem quite that generous. The former is a particular stickler because, without the right skills, you'll have gimped units.

Granted, units nowadays are more synergistic, but not all of them.

Ylgr talks in Forging Bonds about liking to be warm and see the sun. Guess we know who's getting a seasonal unit next summer!

Some units having lousy kits that they can be upgraded out of beats some units having lousy kits that they're stuck with, as is the case with the whole two other unit-gacha games I've played and also early FE. So, uh, I'm not sure why Skill Inheritance is supposed to be a bad thing.

Maybe when I'm trying to play more high tier that'll be the issue, but so far barely any complaints from my end & I'm not some blind ass kisser when IS comes to their BS & how they've been handling some of these units. I don't even got a problem L!Tiki & IS's hard on for Surtr like everyone else does. Powerful, yes, but still very much beatable at the end of the day. I've seen plenty of greedy crap before & when it comes to Heroes it just not up there like some people are making it out to be.

While I'm being frank on the matter I really do hope that when Book 3 finally drops by people stop riding the band wagon & find a better game to play. I'm not saying don't express yourself but there's only so much time you can be piss off about a game before moving on & play a much better game than Heroes.

People will complain about a game because they like it. If they didn't like it they'd ignore it and move on with their lives. I can understand if that annoys you a little, but frankly complaining about the complainers is equally annoying behavior?
