Needs moar structures.
We're all in agreement that the auto-battle ai isn't Kiran, but Feh right?
Perhaps some additional pylons?
No, Feh. You are the anime.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiI dunno about you guys. But lately, I had some sort of urge to write up something like an analysis on Fire Emblem Heroes and its rather... weak storytelling element. Or how it could be improved. As someone who liked FEH, I am very concerned that the story is structured as it is right now and not taking advantage of the vast storage of heroes available in the FE history.
Luckily, there's another gacha game based on existing series that I know and play. Fate/Grand Order. The gacha may be stingy as hell, but I know they utilize the cast very well into the story. I wonder, what can FEH learn from FGO to improve? Without suddenly getting called a blatant copycat?
So yeah, what are your opinions on FEH's storytelling and how they utilized their heroes in story, and how to fix them if they're flawed?
heres a fix: actually write a story instead of a few sentences every couple weeks
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaThe preview of Book 3 is easily the most interesting bit of story I've seen so far. I'll withhold any criticisms until we get into that.
This song needs more love.Sticking to their trailer content might help. Book II had that really cool FMV that ultimately had nothing that actually related to the story. This had the effect of essentially bait-and-switching people, which, of course, resulted in backlash.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiNeeded more Frost Giants vs Fire Giants.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Try letting characters on Askr's side actually do something. Might help a bit with character development and making people not named Alfonse have a reason to be here.
On a related note, do you think IS regrets making Xander Veronica's best bud instead of Reinhardt? The way things have gone Rein is basically a Heroes OC anyway, so it'd be less odd having him as the one mainline character with a recurring story presence.
@Meta: Oh I'm sorry, can you elaborate that further? It doesn't look like something I can digest to write up something.
If I have to say one thing... they have to be fearless in utilizing the existing heroes. When I look at Order of Heroes, it looked a little... DEAD. Let other existing heroes participate in stories, make it like they've been there all along. At this point, the Order of Heroes looked like it only consisted of Kiran, Alfonse, Sharena, Anna and just recently, Fjorm. Hell, Veronica beat them to a punch by including Xander, who's from Fates, into her crews.
Compare this to at least Chaldea. Even if you haven't summoned the Servant, the story treats it like they're already part of Chaldea... like, for example, EMIYA being treated like he's been taking care of the kitchen whenever there's an event, even if you haven't summoned him. Or how Chaldea exactly called in Waver/Zhuge Liang to go to the Accel Zero Order Fuyuki to assist you, instead of summoning him just abruptly.
In a way, Chaldea felt more alive than Order of Heroes. The Book III trailer seemed to make it like it's going on a more serious story, but if the Order of Heroes is like this, it gets a bit hard to care when the Order fell into hard times... when compared to how when the Lostbelts started, most FGO players were in rage at the enemy for doing those bad things to their Chaldea.
So if IS can make the Order of Heroes look more alive, it'll be great, I think.

I think Forging Bonds has more or less been their response to that.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiForging Bonds and some of the Tempest Trials show that they're at least capable of doing something that is, at the very least, cute.
Oh, yeah, I guess Tempest also assumes the latest banner units are participating, regardless of if the player summoned them.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshii was talking about the game, not you
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaForging Bonds has one thing lacking: It's been used only to promote new heroes. For instance, what if you want to do a Forging Bonds with Sigurd? Welp, tough luck, Sigurd was in way before Forging Bonds. No FB for him. Forging Bonds was almost like Interlude, I admit, but the thing is, IS is using it to promote new heroes instead of cultivating the old one. It also runs into the thing that the ratio of heroes interacting with heroes are not that many, not to mention that most of the dialogues in Forging Bonds was mostly just talking to the summoner, often considered 'Dick Measurement'. And people deride that.
So there's the thing, only the new guys get to have those things, the old guys will get none of those 'characterization' bonuses. And of course, there's no way that these guys who's been in Forging Bonds or those you have summoned to interact in the actual story. Or events.
Damn, the beginning of the paralogue is 2meirl4meirl.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!"oh hey remember that power that's been mentioned but never relevant for the game's runtime? ok well here's a teaser come back in three weeks for book iii"
Well at least the story is somewhat interesting this time.
Green orbs barely exist. And I got +Atk/-HP Lewyn (new, so that's alright), +Def/-Atk Minerva (new, but she sucks), and +Def/-Spd Tana (better or worse than -Atk?). Awful, awful banner.
ah of course they find an incredibly ancient relic and what alfonse immediately tries to figure out is "how can we use it to fight other people"
sasuga FEH
Though this King Lif bit was interesting, was Lifthrasir Embla's first ruler?

On first glance, Aether Raids is pretty fun. As I expected, it's like a lighter version of My Castle combat from Fates. With peoples's development as is, though, it's super skewed in the attacker's favour. At least, stacking the Aether Fort boosts with Fjorm's water blessing boost resulted in such terrifyingness as my Nino sporting 63 Atk (before accounting for blade bonus) and Spd.
Did a just a full initial circle on the new banner. No 5*s, but I did end up with an optimal +Atk/-Spd 4* Silas, so I guess that's kinda cool.
FE: Genealogy Story Run 7PM PT Sun, Mon, Fri; Expert Unicorn Overlord 7PM PT Wed, Thurs: http://www.twitch.tv/kuroitsubasatenshiGiven that there's no Arena scoring nonsense, it seems that ultimately the highest ranked people will be those with the least defense losses, rather than the most offense wins. It's certainly a different approach.
There's this one thing about how the characterization or interactions could have been done.
IS, would it hurt to have a scene where Raigh came to Nino and was like "Mom...?" And Nino confirms like "Whoa, you're my future child!?"
WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT THAT!?
Someone here talked about how they wished that more non-OC characters are integrated into the story, and bam, we got Azura. Wish they have something more like that, or at least some sort of character quests that is more than just talking to a wall (Forging Bonds cough cough)

Get Out of Our Home.
A Boost skill as an S-Slot
I've been wanting this for ages.
And it looks like it's time to promote and build Julius, but I only have so many feathers and pretty much none of the units there are at 5* for me. Maybe I can grind enough feathers to promote Anna and just hope for the best summoning on that new banner.
