Major yikes at that Linhardt kit.

Seiros and Florlyna had a marginal lead over the others in terms of me wanting them, so I guess the VG gets to coin flip the hard choice for me. I am, of course, on Team Florlyna, though.

Of course they butchered the male Black Eagle.

But still, it's Linhardt, so I'll snipe for him. Should be easy.

Marianne doing the same 'sneaking in after CYL' thing Lysisthea did.

Good for their respective fans, but no characters who particularly appeal to me here. Well, I kinda like Marianne but may just save the orbs for brave version.

New refines.

• Ayra - Basically Byleth, but a little better. I expect to see a bunch of super whales' old Ayra +10s come out for ARO Galeforce shenanigans.
• Ishtar - Some fairly nasty nuking power, since she isn't stopped by anti-doubling stuff. I don't foresee her suddenly appearing on ARDs or even many Arena defenses, since a lot of what she'd be facing are armours with incredibly dumb raw defensive statlines.
• Lyon - Somewhat boring. Conditional Atk/Res -4, and built-in Quick Riposte 3, but if it worked on both phases. I guess this also lets him run Guard 3 or a Lull in his B. In fact, I feel like he almost needs a Lull Atk skill, since his defenses really aren't that great overall. Well, either that or Triangle Adept, and to only ever fight green or colourless enemies.
• L'Ararchel - The big stat bumps are pretty nice. The healing is... really questionable. I guess she is a bit bulky in the Res department, that HP total is doing her no favours. Feels like they decided she needed another effect, and had no idea what to give her, so they stuck all the refine abilties on a board, and started throwing darts.
• H!Nowi - "Hi, I'm a Wizrobe." Big stat swing to make up for her base stats being very mediocre at this point, plus insane teleport range shenanigans because why not? I don't see her being terribly threatening on her own, but she can cause ARDs to start acting early via shenanigans not unlike W!Bernie with Rescue/Return, or Restore traps.

That Ayra refine is sweet, sweet vindication for all the waiting fans of her like me had to do.

Oh, just noticed the notification. Lyon's refine is actually just Quick Riposte 3. Eh, his job is 90% baiting, anyway, so whatever.

Yeah, H!Nowi has absurd movement range now. Some neat AR shenanigans.

Our freebie is... Lyninja. Didn't expect her to come out on top of Same Hell.

Well, that sure got random. I also get this feeling like they're just rushing through the plot.

The Felix conversation in Dedue's Forging Bonds is made really weird by Felix's alt-only-syndrome. Nice to see more Ylgr and Helbindi though.

HAHAHA! IKR? Santa Felix is hilarious.

So Princess Nott is a simp. Good to know.

The fact FB include more than two characters does really well to emphasize that ‘’Felix is a dick’’, because people really didn’t seem to understand even if a broken clock is right twice a day, Felix is just being a dick.

Heh, Ingrid talking herself up on stuffing her face reminds me that we need more of the Tiki and Tiki, or Julia and Julia, kind of heartwarming interaction. The comedic stuff is amusing, but kind of one note.

While I'm not enthusiastic about Nott's characterization I do appreciate this chapter for bringing the Alfonse/Kiran ship out into the open.

Realistically we're the most important person in the army. We have hundreds of heroes at our command, dozens of which could take Nott in single combat, and several of which are actual gods. So why do we not have a bodyguard?

I guess everyone saw us 1v1ing stuff in Mjolnir's, and assumed we'd be fine.

They don't exist during the Cutscenes. It's why the Askr trio can take credit for their wins.

Circle-jerking Edelgard aside, I really like this VG time around. Can't remember the last time I was actually invested in a VG. I suppose I'm a little disappointed that the free unit is a unit I already have but I'm not going to say no to free merges. That being said, this only reinforces that the last hour of the VG is the only thing that matters.

Yea, I'm not liking how much this book is reminding me of Book 2. Especially with Fafnir being Surtr 2.0.

After the insufferable dullnesses that were Hel and Freyja, I rather miss Surtr.

For the ultimate in filthy tactics, consider not merging and running both in the same team. (I'm actually seriously considering not merging the free one, and Astra Blessing them so that I have a Florlyna in both AR seasons.)
