I actually came across the Japanese version of the FEH twitter where they mention the gauntlet.
No joke half the comments that mention Edelgard translated as "She shouldn't be here", "Why is a normal gacha unit here", "this doesn't make sense".
Meanwhile any that mention double Sothis were 100% in support of their "Mini Christmas Tree".

L!Lyn can be somewhat tanky with her RES & it's much better than DEF

L!Lyn has pretty good Res, so more Res will let her duel mages well enough. +Def would be a fairly lost cause, though.

No, but seriously, this VG was never about popularity. You think Altina of all people is a very popular character? She's barely a lore background character. This is all about utility. The people who voted Edelgard in were the ones that didn't understand the purpose of A Hero Rises. and saw it as another CYL.

Well yeah, that's why i voted Altina. Like her moveset has great utility and she's a valued member of my team.
Sorry Edelgard. You're a great character and all, but my team demands more Altina to merge. I just find it amusing that Edelgard made it into the top 8 and people treat it like a popularity contest.
