Favorite Fics of yours that have been Invalidated by Canon

I have LOTS of these! Its almost a given because most fics are made before the end of any given media. I have so many I cant think about any to write about right now!

I've actually written one. When season two of Young Justice was airing, lots of people wrote great fics on how they thought the Reach arc would go. Sadly we did not get an awesome Battle in the Center of the Mind in canon.

I don't remember anything specific, but I seem to recall that lots of Legend of Zelda fans had theories and fics that played with ideas that have been debunked by new games in the series, because the overall "legend" is always shifting, with sequel games, prequel games and midquel games coming out every few years...

I also remember being in Trigun fandom before the Trigun Maximum manga ending and being involved in writing contests to write ones' own endings to the story - the strangest thing is that I cannot remember any specific fics except my own except that I really liked them. (I think one by a user of the Trinut forum going by Puchiko 2 featured Vash nearly dying, but waking up to Meryl at his side and them deciding to make a better future together). My own story for a contest involved Vash and Knives killing each other, but Vash's ghost kind of hanging around the area in subtle way. People had all sorts of theories for "how the manga will end" and most of us honestly thought the story was going to go one way and the actual end of the manga, when it came out, surprised us all... especially with the tone-shift back into a vein more like the beginning of the manga and anime (It was kind of a mood whiplash, actually). Some people really hated the canon ending, I really liked it... but yeah... there were some great little oneshot fanfictions in that fandom that got written positing endings that didn't happen.

Learning to Breathe Underwater is still something I'd recommend to someone today.
