I am not very far along. I am 2.0 on the Brit Tree and almost the same for the American. Though I am tempted to mess around with the German line for shiggles.

I can't wait for the Engineer and the Terminator event for Breakpoint.

Not sure. It is supposed to be a part of the year one update but not long after the Raid was opened up.

Speaking of, the final boss in the raid is a pain in the ass. Not spoiling it but you may want to do research on how to beat it before you try it.

Ok after playing for a while and finally getting in some decent coop play I have got a generally good feel for the game.

Like most open-world games it is really easy to get distracted chasing side quests and equipment. I was past gear level 170 and had completed every single class and unlocked all my skill stuff before I even touched the main mission past the first two.

I discovered a personal preference for hunting enemy foot patrols and bivouacs to complete class quests with only a couple being completed at enemy bases.

The best way to improve your stock of weapon blueprints for the on-demand section of the shop is to just spend time either raiding bases and collecting intel when you can.

Spend time to unlock bivouac sites as you go and use your drone to help unlock them. It makes getting around the large landscape so much easier. This is especially true since you can call any teammates to the bivouac you are currently at.

You can easily play with two people with wildly disparate gear levels and not really notice too much of a difference. Loot drops are unique to each player and generated separately for each player outside of items found in some chests.

Grenades are your friend hand-tossed or doom tube.

The Wolves elite boss enemies are worth tracking and killing for their cool kit. Especially Rosebud.

Don't kill yourself with your own poison gas grenades, wolves are seemingly immune to them.

If you want to try and slog your way through it the raid offers good loot but the last boss fight is frustrating but you can still get good shit from the other parts of the mission.

With the right sniper rifle and the snipers AP ammo, you can pretty much obliterate anyone even enemies inside a building with intervening cover.

Long-distance shooting gets a little weird as whether or not an enemy renders in has some weird variables. My friend, for example, has a kill at 677 meters and I have one at 576 meters. The average render distance is about 500 meters roughly. But some angles especially straight down tend to render enemies at longer range.

The armor buster shot apparently has little or no arc and will plow through damn near everything.

Knife animation for melee kills depends on the knife. There are only really two animation sets and you see them both in Wildlands.

Get blueprints of your favorite guns so you can freely update them to your current gear level instead of relying on the RNG to give you what you want.

Killing boss enemy wolves seems to always drop a gold tier piece of equipment usually a weapon.

The enemy AI are comparatively better at basic tactics than the ones in Wildlands. They will flank, use drones or grenades to flush you from cover and even use snipers and heavy attacks to pin you in place so they can attack you. They are a lot better at taking cover and notice more. They are however still kind of stupid and easy to lure into ambushes, mines, and forcing them to split up their numbers making it easier to pick them off.

Any news on when AI team mates will drop? I'm a bit leery of co-op with randos at times, but still very tempted to pick this up. I really enjoyed the previous game and need to clear out the last couple of territories I was working through!

Good info [up] though, useful to know if I shell out for my birthday on this...

The only word I have seen is they are still working on AI teammates. You can actually do this one solo as long as you don't go Rambo and make use of your skills and abilities and abuse the AI a bit.

I am still waiting for the Engineer class and the Terminator event personally. Some speculate it will be sometime next month as something is supposed to change with Operation Greenstone by end of January.

Patchnotes for 1.1.0 state that Terminator event and Engineer class come in around the end of February. 1.1.0 is scheduled for the end of January, so next Tuesday most probably, and will focus on fixing annoying bugs overlooked until now, among them the Digital Sight (ELCAN Specter) lacking its real-steel feature of zoom toggle and enemies screaming after getting killed with a headshot.

For those doing the Terminator event a few pro tips. Forget about using EMP grenades, they do squat. Bring your best DPS or hardest hitting guns. You need the event gun to kill them after exposing their core and have to focus fire on said core in their chest. You can hammer down their health with C-4 and rocket launchers. Weaker explosives and mines are too weak to really do enough damage. Armor buster has some effect against the target with the right rifle. Vehicle weapons that fire explosives of any sort are very handy.

Mini-guns are ok. The terminators will attack anyone and everyone including other drones and turrets. Most carry an LMG and Shotgun dual-wield combo and will wreck your shit very quickly.

Also, don't let them into melee range or try to melee them. They will fuck you up.

You can outrun them but they can sprint like a damn motorcycle fast and are very persistent. Hit and run tactics are your best bet. If you aren't too far away they can be kited around slowly. You can also carefully kite them into enemy bases.

Yeah it'll be fun.

Also I'm loving the Terminator event, it's fun and the rewards are pretty nice too.

I wish I was on PC. I need a new machine for gaming these days. I am on the Box with this one so I can play with Mark Von Lewis and my buddy from TX.

Helicopters with rockets and AT missiles work great on wearing down the terminator.

You can count on a terminator always showing up on non-intercept missions. My friend and I observed non-intercept seems to spawn at least one terminator per player for us.

Edit: Beat the event mission yesterday and now I have an MGL >:3.

The generic follow mission to intercept Terminators sucked ass though. 5 fleshed out T-800's were attacking a base. It made me regret not bringing a helicopter.

So Ubisoft decided to let people switch off the tacked-on, near-useless (and, thankfully, barely used) Gear Level mechanic.

It was transparent how they ignored it as much as they could, honestly. So the "Immersive Mode" update is as much of PR hot air as the gear level itself.

[up]Wait... so the Immersive mode is basically giving players exactly what they wanted all along by removing gear level requirements? How's that a bad thing?!

No clue, especially since it does way more then that too, and lets you pick and choose each feature individually.

[up][up][up][up] It's not "bad", it's more of a "didn't we tell you" on part of the devs aimed at the execs who most probably mandated the entire gear level fuckery.

I ain't mad. It was blatant that the gear level served no purpose, maybe apart from some Fake Difficulty stopper for the raid and some missions. Hell, you could wipe out the initial Wolves squad right in the prologue after a few tries!

Yeah, Gear Level was bloody idiotic. Just like shoehorning level gates into open-world sandboxes is kind of stupid.

Another Sam Fisher outing, as long as it isn't as annoying as the one in the last game.

What made that mission annoying was how you couldn't even knock out any of the guards with silent melee attacks, and are forced to fight off the whole base after locating Fisher... without your team. Basically a death sentence on Tier I difficulty, unless you exploited the crap out of the AI.

I wasnt sure how the hell to pull that mission off. NEARLY got away ONCE. Then died to a sniper.

Do need to retry it. But I do like the dig at tiered weaponry in the trailer there...

Also they got Admiral Hackett on the other end of that call. OLD MEN UNITE!

I just took a helicopter up to maximum altitude and parachuted in through the window.

It took 2 tries and was easy as fuck.
