We don't have any new details yet, but Compile Heart announced a bunch of in-development projects after their new president took over. Among these, is Madou Monogatari 4! Confirmed they have the okay from Sega to use Puyo characters.
"No will to break."Yeah, it's wild, too. We also heard from a stream earlier this year that a Puyo game is in development, and Feli's VA recorded for a Puyo-related project recently.
If these games come out in 2024, the year of Puyo, we'll be eating so damn good.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Interesting news about Madou 4. I wonder what kind of tone it'll take. Curse of the Great Curry God was pretty juvenile, but that's understandable given it was an adaptation of Madou 1. I'm not expecting Windows version 2 grimdark levels of seriousness but if it's not at least a bit serious it's going to be a bit disappointing imo.
Oissu!I'm assuming that it would closer to the puyo games in tone. Prolly with some level of silliness.
I do have to wonder what compile heart's relationship with SEGA is in general, but that is prolly better suited for the Neptunia thread
(Speaking of which, inb4 the CPUs pop up in this game)

Some level of silliness is reasonable. I really hope it's not an Excuse Plot like quite a few of the recent Puyo games have been, though. The villain at least (assuming Satan will be not be the main antagonist and will team up with the heroes at the end, as was typical in Madou) should be taken seriously.

Oissu!I mean, it depends. Madou's such an old school franchise it largely is just episodic silly bosses and fetch quests, with a slightly serious boss at the end. But CH can do fairly serious plots when they like, so it's up to them I suppose. I just hope we get more badass Arle tomboy action. I love Ringo, Amitie, and the rest, but Arle's the starring girl.
"No will to break."What video game company currently has the Puyo Puyo franchise? I know that SEGA had the rights to this franchise at one point, but I don't know who has the rights to this franchise now.
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Sega afaik. They're the ones that released the recent games and Sonic was in at least one of them.
Oh, so SEGA still has the rights to Puyo Puyo. Interesting...
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Madou Monogatari 123 PC98 is now fully translated! ... Except that the translations are in 2 separate parts due to being made by 2 teams.
Madou 1 fan translation and here's 2 and 3.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Literally the only ones left are the MSX originals and Saturn remake now! Man, the fan translation scene has really given the Madou games love.
"No will to break."I forgot to go here after the drama for those fan translations happened.
Long story short: DO NOT PLAY THEM! Madou 2 and 3's translations are a rush job. Madou 1 is fine tho.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Oh, the fan translations aren't that good?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Saturn is already translated. I don't really see the point in that one.
And coming from the Tales community, let me guess, they machine translated 2 and 3 and did no work in fixing the translations up?
Oissu! That's been a common problem in PC 98 translation. A lot of highly requested games have been machine done without making it clear they've not been properly gone through.
"No will to break."People want a playable patch for Saturn, and have wanted one for years. The ones that do exist, like the one hosted in Compile Worlds or something like Nenilein's original translations on her streams are fine enough, yes.
Goddammit, Schezo... || *insert incredibly thirsty copypasta about Dr. Ratio*Madou II for PC-98 just got translated! You can find it on the archive, if you know, you know. Now we can experience the hilariously jarring violence in English.
"No will to break."NEW PUYO GAME ANNOUNCED! Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop exclusive to Apple Arcade.
Looks cool, but you know... Apple Arcade exclusive.

Ah yeah, this game. I didn't heard good things about it's gameplay, actually. The game's art is pretty nice though (Even though I prefer the chibi aesthetic of 1992, Tsu and Sun) and its story and character interactions seems pretty good. The gameplay does seems easier from what i've seen, yes, with the puyos who fall slooooowly, and it looks like the matchs against opponents can take almost forever because of it. Maybe I should try it despite it, and i'll end up having fun anyway. I mean, it's been awhile (Big time) since I played a Falling Blocks puzzle game, so I may not find problems about the easier, slower gameplay unlike the people who don't like this game. At all.
