Though, I actually knew about this ahead of time. There was a non-disclosure agreement.
SoundCloudIs the story mode new, or just a reuse of the original game's? Because what they showed off of it didn't seem new...
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownI suspected this from the survey, but wasn't willing to assume it would definitely happen before I saw an announcement.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.Yeah, I figured that out from watching the non-Direct trailer after posting.
For context, in the Direct footage, what little we see of the story implies that it's the first time Ringo is meeting Tee... but there's no memory alteration at the end of the first game to justify forgetting the events of the game. (I mean, the last 3 chapters are weird, but the canonicity of the first two are heavily debatable, and the last is basically a flashback sequence.)
The trailer includes glimpses at a couple more story scenes, one of which has a Puyo character mention that it seems like it's not the first time they've met one of the Tetris characters... which makes me think that memory-related stuff is happening, but it's introduced in this game.

Goddammit, Schezo...Shame that it was NOT worth watching the PAX portion, since all it was was just... literally just the trailer.
Cool stuff, that girl's name is localized as Marle, got Carby confirmed playable.
Goddammit, Schezo...Double post, but PPT2 has been rated in Australia for mild sexual innuendo and online interactivity.
... So they just confirmed Schezo to appear, got it.
Goddammit, Schezo...Considering how much fun the localization had in the first with Schezo's dialogue, I expect more hot fire.
"No will to break."The official Puyo Twitter has been doing "Who's that Puyo character" posts daily for the past couple days, and posts the answer an hour after the initial post. The reward for waiting is new gifs featuring previously unseen footage. Clean animation rips, if you will. You can find the gifs here, with more to come daily.
They have confirmed that they will reveal the entire roster this way, which was confirmed at Tokyo Game Show to be 28.

Goddammit, Schezo...And Sega continues to double down on not changing the roster size...
Oissu!At least it's not 24 again.
Goddammit, Schezo...I low-key hope they reprise some of the PPT1 VA roles.
I liked Xander Mobus as Satan/Dark Prince and Matt Mercer as Ex.
Don't stop, just proceed, 'cause this is what you need-proceed, just proceed, 'cause this is what you need!I have a highkey hope that they do. Champions reprised anyone who was also in PPT, except for Carbuncle, since her voice actress no longer does non-union work. He has a new English VA, so that's the one that'll return for PPT2.
I'm actually interested on who Carbuncle's new Japanese VA will be, since his old VA died back in March.
Goddammit, Schezo...Double post, but hey, a demo should be coming soon.
But seriously, eShop preorder when?
Goddammit, Schezo...Still hard to believe this silly little crossover got popular enough to earn a sequel. I think that has something to do with bringing in the western fanbase helped.
"No will to break."So Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 launches at midnight PST tonight. How we feeling?

Goddammit, Schezo...*vibrates*
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I got PPT2, and... it doesn't seem that different from the first. It's got a new story, skill battles a la Tetris Battle Gaiden, and other small additions like leaderboards, icons, and solo Carbuncle, but the rest of the modes are familiar territory. Skill battles are plenty fun, and the core game is still enjoyable, but I was hoping for a few more twists to the formula. Ah well. They got post-launch updates coming, so I'll be checking back in every now and then.
Can't wait for a cutscene rip.
"No will to break."Holy crap, the Madou translations just keep coming! On top of the Game Gear Vacation SNES, and recently the Megadrive/Genesis versions, we now have a PC-Engine translation. Literally the only ones of I we don't have now are the infamous PC 98 version and the MSX original trilogy pack.
"No will to break."Oh, nice!
Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.I really wanna see a Madou 123 PC-98 translation. We've also got the Madou Saturn game among those that need the translations, as well as Final Exam/Tower of the Magician/Secret of Elysium for Windows 95.
Edit: Oh, and this happened literally yesterday, a translation of Arle's Adventure for the Game Boy Color. From what I hear it's very much like Pokemon, and it doesn't stop it from being a good game in its own right.
I should really play these translations one day.

Goddammit, Schezo...
I mean, the thread is approximately as active as the Puyo Puyo franchise in the West — which is to say, not — but yeah, it's here.
