Actually, it's clearly listed in the criteria #2 of the trope:
"No listing two different pairings with the same character in them, unless you have a very good explanation of how they can both be the most popular at the same time."
In other words, the trope is not just listing any pairings that are popular, but it has to be the most popular pairing involving both characters, and that it overshadows the canon coupling.
Not merely non-canon, but it has to contradict a canon pairing. As I am not overly familiar with its story, does Overwatch have canon pairings to contradict in the first place?
@Adept: Somehow missed that, thank you. *facepalm* Though that doesn't make sense, since determining THE most popular couple seems...impossible. Just for an example, Draco/Hermione's more popular on ff.net, but Draco/Harry's more popular on AO 3 and Tumblr. So how are you supposed to decide which is the "right" popular?
@Zyffyr: The only one so far is Tracer/Emily. Though I thought it just had to be that the couple was popular and non-canon, so characters who aren't in a relationship with anyone but have popular ships can be listed?

The page itself specifies that the pairing has to contradict a canon pairing, but there is massive misuse of the "any popular pairing" type. So much that the page is in TRS over it right now.
Well, going by the second part of that criteria, I suppose listing the different fandom locales can qualify as a good enough reason to list both pairs. But yeah, the trope itself is currently under repair, so things may or may not change in the future.
Based off this topic, the overwatch page might need an overhaul.
We probably need to wait until the TRS thread is resolved before anything is done.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
There's been someone on the Fan Preferred Couple page deleting Overwatch pairings on account of them not being the most popular for that character, despite them still being popular. As far as I know, the only requirements for a FPC is that it be not canon and widely-rooted for by the fanbase; it's possible for a character to have two very popular, non-canon ships, and there are in fact several examples on the various pages. Could someone help clear this up?
