They're ending online support after only, what, 2 years? That's a shame. I haven't even brought the game yet. Hopefully this is a sign that the sequel is in development.
They're in two genres so there isn't much overlap. However, the fighting game market is very difficult to get into. Most hardcore competitive players stick to the games they know.
They’re in different genres but Splatoon 2 and ARMS do sorta have a Friendly Fandoms thing going on so I can see them cannibalizing each other. The post-release stuff was okay, new fighters and stages for free but I think it came all within 5 months of initial release.
And I should clarify, when I mean they’re ending support, this is the definite end of any new content or online special events. The game will still be online for the foreseeable future.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I remember before Arms came out I was hoping for a Cow Boy with snake arms.
Well apparently there was an unused ARMS fighter who looks like a luchador with fiber optic arms.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Hello! I just got this game last night. I'd known about it for a while, but having Min Min become playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate gave me the motivation to finally try it out. While I probably won't be maining her in Smash, she did make her source game look fun.
That said, the controls have taken some getting used to. At first I tried the motion controls, but I turned out to be terrible with them, struggling with even the training missions at around Lv. 4 or so. Then I switched to my Pro Controller, and started doing a little better, but the higher-level ones were still a challenge.
But I think I'm getting more used to the controls now. I feel like I still have a lot to learn, though.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.Unsurprisingly but still disheartening, the arms comic has been canceled.
Considering its was supposed to come out in 2018 yet we haven't heard anything about it till now, I can't say I didn't see this coming.
Still sad tho

The problem was they released this right before splatoon 2 which was wildly more popular. They should've spaced it out a bit more
