Finished Guilliman this afternoon. My eyes hated me trying to clean up all those tiny details.

Awesome work, particularly on the flames of the sword and braziers. I must get around to painting my model at some point.

Last year I repainted my old Deathwatch Librarian and here is the result. Other than the new Chapter symbol on the belt robe I do like the results of the upgrade.

[up] Nice work! I like the detailing on the staff. [tup]

I'm ~90% done with the Sanguinor, just need to paint the base and mount the model. Tycho and Mephiston are underway.

[up]Thanks.

How are you doing Tycho, as Captain or Death Company?

[up] Captain...I’ll probably pick up another one to do as the Lost, but that’s way on down the road. I actually finished him this evening except for his base. Mephiston is maybe 20% done.

[up]Cool.

I've got an ancient metal Tycho model in my collection that I painted before Tycho the Lost was ever conceived of and I keep meaning to touch up his paint scheme. I also want to get a second model to paint in the Death Company colours and convert a regular Captain to represent Tycho before he suffered his wounds to lead my planned 2nd Armageddon War themed Blood Angels army. Can you guess that Tycho is my favourite Blood Angels characterwink

Triple-header today. Finished Mephiston, the Sanguinor, and Captain Tycho this afternoon.

Now, I just have to decide if I'm going to keep working on the Drop Pod that's about 3/4 done with basecoating or skip to the two Land Speeders that I built yesterday...leaning toward the Speeders, I'm dreading trying to assemble the Drop Pod.

[up]They all look great. [awesome] The skull on Mephiston's shoulder pad and the Sanguinor's wings are particularly good. [tup]It is also good to see the old 2nd Edition backpack on Tycho. A lot of people (myself included I must admit) replace them with more modern ones.

[up] Thanks! [tup] I seriously considered replacing them since the molding wasn't particularly clean, but decided to not worry with it. The worst part was trying to get them glued; the figures aren't molded in a way that lets the backpacks sit completely flush with the bump on their backs so it took a bit of creative positioning.

[up]They can be a bit of a pain to fit. Some of my old models with the back banner version of the backpack are at odd angles.

One of my more recently completed models is the Dark Imperium Primaris Captain for my Scythes of the Emperor 5th Company army. I like how he turned out, particularly the cloak

He does look good; nice work on the yellow. I spent most of yesterday basecoating the red on the Land Speeders and painting the insides of the Drop Pod doors...hazard stripes are a PITA.

[up]Thanks. Bad Moons, Scythes of the Emperor, Iyanden Asyriani… I do seem to paint a lot of yellow for some reason, and it isn't even one of my favourite colours.

I rarely try to do them but when I do hazard stripes are a bit of a pain, especially getting each stripe a consistent size.

At the end of last year I painted the latest model in my project to do all the Space Marine Chapters: An Angels Sanguine Tactical Marine. He turned out reasonably well (they are basically the reverse of the Black Wings Chapter who I have a small force of) but for some reason the Chapter symbol came out looking like the Night Lords symbol.[lol]

[up] Heh...I can see that.

I started to prime another Drop Pod this morning, but I'm going to have to strip what I got done and start over. I've learned my lesson and will avoid white primer in the future, or at least avoid Vallejo's white primer. Maybe Stynylrez's white primer is better.

[up]I only ever use a white undercoat for models that are primarily flesh, yellow, bone, or white (of course) . Anything else I use black. For some reason though I have found that the Citadel White undercoat seems to handle lower temperature spraying than the black for some reason.

[up] I primed my three Dreads with Vallejo’s gray primer this afternoon and it worked just fine, so I may chunk the white and just stick with the gray...it’s really close to Ulthuan Gray or Pallid Wych Flesh in tone so it might as well be white. I usually prime in black so this will be an experiment.

The regular drop pod I finished earlier in the week will be done tomorrow; I just need to put the outer coat of flat varnish on. The next one I’ll be doing will be for the Death Company.

The first Drop Pod is done.

Since I'll be going back to work tomorrow, my modeling time is going to get cut back to normal, so I'll have to squeeze it in in the evenings. I've got a Land Speeder that's pretty much done except for decals and varnish and another that's still in the basecoating stage...trying to decide if I want to keep going with that or jump to my Dreads.

Last year I painted a Moonclan Grot for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. He was only a random model I felt like painting at the time but he turned out quite nicely.

Is that one that would work with the Gloomspites or is he from another faction?

SebastianGray (4 Score & 7 Years Ago)

[up]Thanks. Yeah he is a Gloomspite these days. I got him when he was a Night Goblin, they were changed to Moonclan Grots for Age of Sigmar and now they are apparently called the Gloomspite Gitz. I really need to catch up with Age of Sigmar.

Here is an Ork Heavy Specialist for another Kill Team I am planning. I like how he turned out in general but I am unsure if the skin of the Grot is a bit too bright.

[up] They turned out really nice. [tup] I'd expect a Gretchin to be a lighter shade of green than a full Ork so no worries there.
