I[up]Oh right I forgot about this! I was thinking of telling Izshta that if she doesn't feel either way, I might see it as an interesting prospect but maybe I'd just leave it ambiguous for now? My dude probably wouldn't care if he's a noble or not, all he cares about are babes >:^3

But yeah if you guys think it might be too confusing I don't mind changing it. I just picked the name cause Yoshitsune Minamoto sounds badass

@Heroic Sociopath: Seems okay. Little wary about blocking "dragon's breath or a bolt of lightning" with a wooden sword.

It can, but Yoshitsune, for all his strength, is still a human. His reflexes, while pretty good, are still well within what is considered humanly possible. So while the Yoshitsunecalibur is capable of stopping, say, a bolt of lightning from a sorcerer, it's another matter entirely if Yoshitsune would be able to move the blade in time. He might if he sees them start to cast it, but in a real fight, he might end up with a face full of lightning. Also, the weapon can only protect an area equal to its size. While it is huge, if Yoshitsune tried to block a dragon's breath, he'd avoid the word of it but still probably be pretty crispy.

  • Name: Hanzo
  • Gender: male
  • Age: 18
  • Race: Hanyo (human father, kami mother)
  • Appearance: A strapping and handsome youth, he has black hair and piercing blue eyes. He has an otherworldly beauty to all those who encounter him, and his skin is slightly tanned. He wears a red yukata which has a black beetle on the back, the symbol of his father's clan. He has a rather lean frame.
  • Skills & Equipment:
    • As his mother is a kami from the moon, Hanzo is effectively a demigod...of sorts. He has enhanced speed, strength and agility, but he is not invincible.
    • He was trained by a band of ronin mercenaries in the arts of war. He is a skilled swordsman, archer, martial artist and horse rider. In hand-to-hand combat, he was taught to use his physiology to his advantage.
    • He is a gifted tactician. His experience on the battlefield has given him a firm grasp of tactics and battle, and he is able to adapt his plan when the situation calls for it.
    • He has inherited some of his mother's formidable power. His power's strength is in direct proportion to the phases of the Moon. It is strongest during the full moon, and weakest when there is no moon.
    • He is a skilled biwa player. However, his music often seems to have a rather sad and otherworldly feel.
    • Hanzo currently leads a band of ronin mercenaries, numbering roughly 75 men. These men followed his father, and now they follow him.
    • Hanzo has a charm which protects him from the kami. It was given to him by his mother to protect him, at the cost of literally ever seeing her son ever again.
  • Personality: Hanzo is a quite and reserved man. He can be as steadfast and unyielding as his father before him, but he has a big heart on the inside, and is very compassionate and gentle, much like his mother. He has grown to be a natural leader of men, and he can inspire them to be the best they can be. His ronin band sees both his mother and father in him with each passing day.
  • Bio: Long ago, a princess of the moon was born. She was named Kaguya. She grew to be a very beautiful woman, who had lived her life among the heavens. But she was also a very curious about the world of mortals. Others of her kind looked down upon it, seeing it as a world of vice and corruption. But Kaguya did not know what these things were. So, she came down from the heavens, and walked upon the earth, entering a small city. She saw the suffering that man inflicted upon one another, and was horrified. However, rather than turn her back upon it, as the rest of her people had done, she resolved to help mankind. She went to the city's leader, a rich merchant who had risen in power through dirty dealings. The merchant became enchanted with her beauty upon seeing her, and when Kaguya demanded he do more to help the lesser fortunate of his town, he agreed, on one condition; that Kaguya should became his bride. Kaguya wanted to help the lesser fortunate of the town, but also knew that the merchant did not truly love her, and her marrying him would not mean he would do as he promised, so she refused, and left the town, deciding to seek help from someone else, perhaps the Emperor.
    • Outraged, the merchant hired a band of ronin to bring Kaguya to him, and if she still refused to marry him, he would kill her, so that no one else may have her. However, the leader of this band, a man by the name of Ichigo, was an honorable man, as were his ronin, and found the merchant's wanton lust for the princess despicable. So, rather than capture the princess, he decided to warn her. When he found Kaguya, he told her that the merchant was still after her, and though he and his band were honorable men, the merchant could always hire some who were not. Ichigo offered to escort her to a temple, where she could find refuge with the monks. Kaguya agreed to his offer, but as Kaguya and Ichigo spent more time together on the journey, they grew closer. Kaguya was touched by the honor and nobility of Ichigo, and Ichigo was moved by Kaguya's compassion and kindness. Eventually, the two fell in love, and married, with Ichigo's band of ronin celebrating the union in earnest. When Kaguya learned she was with child, there was much rejoicing, and it seemed as if man and wife would live in happiness.
    • Alas, it was not to be. Stories had spread of the beauty of Kaguya, and when the merchant learned that he had been betrayed, his rage and anger was hellish to behold. He sought out other men who desired the beautiful moon princess, and gathered an army of bandits and rogues. Eventually, he collected an army of some 5,000 men, and set off to capture Kaguya, and take his revenge upon Ichigo and his ronin. Ichigo's ronin band numbered some 2,000 men. When they learned of that the merchant was coming for them, he bid Kaguya flee with 25 of his best men, and went to hold off those who would bring harm upon his family. The battle was fierce and long, and in the chaos, Ichigo slew the merchant, and was himself killed. But he had managed to claim victory. Those who survived returned to Kaguya, and informed her of their victory, and the death of Ichigo. Kaguya felt intense grief at the loss of her husband, and a month later, gave birth to a boy, who she named Hanzo.
    • But her adventures on the mortal land had not gone unnoticed by the rest of her people. When they learned she had born a child by a mortal man, they were disgusted, and sent soldiers to bring her and the child before her family, to face punishment for her actions. When she realised her family was coming for her and Hanzo, she gave her son to the ronin, gifting Hanzo with a charm which kept him hidden from the eyes of the heavens, as well as herself, and made the band swear an oath to keep him safe. Then she sought out the soldiers, and informed them of her child's death. The soldiers accepted this explanation, and took her with them back to the moon.
    • The ronin honored the oath they had made, and Hanzo was raised among them. He was trained in the ways of combat, but turned his eyes to music, becoming a skilled biwa player. As he grew, he was told the story of his mother and father, and the sacrifices they had made to keep him safe. He sometimes gazes at the night sky, and at the moon, wondering if his mother still thought of him. The ronin took odd jobs here and there, fighting bandits and guarding the social elite. All through this, they made sure Hanzo was in a position where he could learn how to be a leader. Once he reached the age of manhood, he was given leadership over the band, which he accepted. Now, he leads them to Onimori, having heard it is a place for both youkai and humans.
