I don't even think they can do much with Anna Maria, since the next episode is the conclusion to the arc.
The battle between Miles and Robot Peter vs. Superior Spidey was easily the show's best. What a pleasant surprise.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).- Watching episode 18.
- Awnh, Flash still has his character development.
- Anna Maria Markovy? Guessing she's a comics character.
- Alchemax...I've heard that name somewhere before? Was it in the 90s show or the 2099 game?
- I prefer Olivia as Dagger than Petra?
- Tiberous Stone? Oh he's the douche that screwed up Cloak and Dagger?
- Wasn't expecting Anna to clock Dagger in the face.
- Wow the fight choreography in this episode has improved like a crap ton.
- Why does half the time people, especially all three Spider-Man, forget Ock and Peter have teamed up before? Like yeah, Ock screwed up, but he was a hero for a time and he got screwed over by Norman when he turned villain.
- Good 2 v 1.
- Has anyone noticed Sp Ock has a OST? Its this weird mix of mysterious and sinister. Fitting for Ock.
- All in all, good episode.
It was from the 2099 stuff. Tiberius's descendant, Tyler Stone, is Spidey 2099's nemesis.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Alchemax is a corrupt company that's a staple of the 2099 line of Marvel comics who essentially took over the world, and I believe the company was introduced into the main Marvel canon a few years ago (they haven't taken over the world yet).
The company also plays a pretty big role in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Peter gets his body back next episode, but he'll still have to deal with the aftermath of his actions, right? Him going back to Midtown probably won't be forgotten, I think.
Trying to catch up to the series (couldn't see Cloak and Dagger due to it recording incorrectly due to a storm):
- Keemia felt like an afterthought. Like they threw her in there so that people would stop asking what happened to her.
- An origin story for MODOK. I'm just gonna try and avoid explaining why this is nearly impossible.

Spoilers ahead for this sneak peek
No discussion about the ending of the arc? Huh. It was fine to me, but Venom (or rather, just the symbiote) was a baffling choice for the antagonist that didn't really work.
Trailer for the next arc, "The Cellar".
Too bad Spider-Man doesn't have other heroes thst could help take down this team of villains
35 year old white man.So Brand New Day....it was good but I have some problems.
- What the heck was with Gwen and Anya giving people the cold shoulder. Since Ock, Peter, and Miles have taken more priority after the "Day Without Spider Man", no one can make the argument Spidey's too reliant on his friends, but they just walked away from him without even hearing him out? At least Ms. Marvel bothered to answer him.
- Regent, one wikipedia search and I can definitely see how this plot is gonna go.
- Also, Peter should really tell the Avengers that his mind got swapped with Ock.
- Molten Man and Negative Man...well glad to see the former in another Spider Man show, but as for the latter, he's new to me. Glad for the variety though.
- Yuri expecting Spidey's jokes. Priceless.
Gwen and Anya baffle me in particular, since they were actually understanding of him and thought he was going through a lot of stress. You'd think they'd be happy to see him doing better and ask him what was going on. Also, why didn't Miles tell him about Horizon? Why did he get mad at Peter instead?
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).- I think Miles was just mad at the whole situation in general. But yeah, Anya and Gwen should've at least consoled him, especially given how worried Gwen was at the beginning of the arc. I like the two, don't get me wrong, but this is so episode 3 Gwen instead of the one that's gotten much kinder afterwards. I hope the writers address this further in the future.
It's also yet another example of the show setting up Miles, Gwen, and Anya as potential allies, yet they keep coming up with stories where they avoid teaming up. I mean, Spidey's fighting a foe that's stealing the powers of his villains to take down the Avengers. Wouldn't they be useful as well? The Spider-People are not teaming up until the Goblin War arc, it seems.
Again, it's like the show doesn't know if it's a show about just Peter or about the team as well.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).- I think they're trying to find a good balance with Miles taking second stage, and Gwen and Anya as the third anchors. Cuz Miles has been used a lot more in Vulture's episode, Venom, the leadings to Superior and in the Superior arc, but missed out on Bring on the Bad Guys. Meanwhile both girls got that episode in the Bring on the Bad Guys arc, a day without Spider Man, and earlier on in the first 3 episodes. They're almost there, but not quite.
- Speaking of characters with questionable screentime, I'm so glad Harry's not involved in any of this mess, but I really hope he doesn't turn evil this time.
Someone on Twitter applied shading to screenshots from the show and holy moly, the results are stunning AF.
They just make the show look all the more half-baked.
And hey, not sure if it's been brought up here, but Kevin "Can't Go Wrong" Feige recently got promoted to Chief Creative Officer of Marvel in general, which means he gets a say in the comics and cartoons now.
So in light of that development, what's more likely to happen:
- This show gets cut short for a newer and better looking Spidey movie?
Or...
- The next season gets delayed so the crew can apply shading and whatnot so the end result doesn't look so unfinished?

I'd say a more likely result is that they'll just air the next season as is, quietly buried in the current late night time slot, and then whatever the next Spiderman show is (not the upcoming Disney Junior series), that's when he'll call more of the shots.
I would bring up the possibility of a course-correct for the show (which is technically the last Marvel Animated Universe show at the moment; Avengers and Guardians are both over), but I think that Marvel's transitioning more toward, at least with the upcoming Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur cartoon, a more creator-driven and less MCU-oriented approach.
So Marvel's Spider-Man could very well end at Season 3. On the other hand, the series is also standalone enough that they could probably Soft Reboot the show. And I tend to be wrong when I think the series will end at a certain Season in this thread anyway.
It'll be really bizarre if this series really is the last Marvel Animated Universe show, since that means the shows to begin and end the Marvel Animated Universe will be Spider-Man cartoons.
Do you consider this show to be MCU focus though?
I mean, it was released around the time another Spider-Man movie (Homecoming) was released, and still seemed to take place in the other shows' continuity.
The focus is significantly downplayed from the MCU, and more on Spider-Man and his cast, but it still kind of has that "chase the MCU" feel, albeit not to the same extent as Ultimate Spider-Man.
I believe that's at least partly due to the constant guest star appearances from the Avengers & keeping Peter a "relative" rookie compared to them.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Avengers: An incredibly powerful team who have saved the world multiple times.
But apparently can't keep an alien Symbiote in their base while they're away, and think absolutely nothing is wrong with Peter after a brainscan, which logically should have revealed that he was Octavius. Unless he fooled their sensors by just repeating "I am Peter Parker" in his head.

And Spidey 2099's father. So Miguel is Tiberius's descendant too.
They just make the show look all the more half-baked.
Holy mackerel.
I wonder if anyone else thought of doing this to other Marvel Animated Universe shows. Decent shading goes a long way from being this grayed out mess to being pleasant to look at.
A guy on Twitter made me sad when he pointed out the show about colorful horses has better visual appeal than this show when it comes to color balance.
Man, I enjoyed Cloak and Dagger working with Spidey more than him working with Miles or the other Spider-People. It'd be cool if they were on the team instead. Otto woke up from that coma earlier than expected.
The rest of the episode was kind of "eh". The villain was very predictable and there wasn't much going on with the story. The Goblin War stuff next week seems more interesting.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).
I honestly expected them to adapt the Anna Maria subplot out since Peter wasn't a college student, so that was nice to see.
