It really is a blessed adaptation

Honestly, anime adaptations have come a long way since the early 2000s.

To be fair, I don't think anyone but the big shounen series have done anything else for a longass time.

Just watched up to ep 3 of season 3.

Oh man. Both Iino and Maki are such great addition to the cast. [lol]

Oh Jesus.

Kaguya's English dub in general is pretty good, even though I still prefer the sub, but HOLY SHIT the Narrator is something on a whole different level.

God, I wish I can listen a version where everything is dub but only the Narrator is the English dub. [lol][lol]

Also, for the anime I really love bits of musical references here and there, such as the end of ep 8 season 3 having the same rhythm and key of Zenzenzense from Your Name. [lol]

I appreciate how he went for a very different vibe — unhinged and done with everyone's shenanigans instead of bombastic and dramatic. Makes it worth to watch both

[up] Hah! Unhinged is the perfect description, all right. [lol]

Honestly, the Narrator Dub feels less like a narrator but more like extremely caffeinated live commentator. My God, I might watch the whole anime again in dubbed version just for the Narrator!

....And well, I certainly don't disagree on Hayasaka being the best girl. evil grin

Anyone who says Hayasaka isn’t best girl is a liar.

Aaaaaand finished season 3.

There are...just so damn many good things I want to say about this series. I'm pretty sure other reviewers have put it more eloquently, though.

Honestly, this feels conclusive enough that I don't feel the need to watch further on from here. I'll definitely come back if season 4,5 turn out to be as good as previous seasons.

I've said this at least half a dozen times in this subforum, but 2022 was an absolutely amazing year for anime. And Ultra-Romantic totally deserves its spot among the best titles of the best year.

I give this season, and the anime as a whole so far, three & half stars out of 4.

And the only reason why I'm not giving this a full four stars, the same score I gave to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and Mob Psycho 100, is that the anime haven't actually ended yet.

There's The First Kiss Never Ends movie which I think is just as important as what happens in Season 3.

Oh God, I just realized:

The English dub of Kaguya sama does have this kind of energy! [lol][lol][lol]

-sighs-

A couple of days ago, I finished watching season 1 of Horimiya. Despite my high expectations, I found it underwhelming by the middle of the of it and utterly infuriating by the end.

It truly made me appreciate just how much well adapted the anime of Kaguya-sama is. It's impressive how both writing and pacing are executed so perfectly, as well as not having unbearable side characters.

Bumping for a question. For this TLP, I'm using a pic of Kaguya's hands trembling while she's holding a cup of tea, but I can't find any reference to the scene for context to make it an example. What's happening in that shot?

I believe that’s from episode 6 of season one. It was when Ishigami asked Kaguya if she likes Miyuki, which flustered her.

Ian Sinclair as the narrator in the English Dub is so manic and over the top that sometimes its kind of fun to imagine the whole story is something Brook came up with during his 50 years of isolation just to pass the time and is telling this story he's created to some of the other Straw Hats, lol. (Occasionally having to stop and explain some of these crazy ideas he came up with like a "cell phone, which is like a Transponder Snail, but you don't need a snail to make it work.") [lol]

The dub makes me want a Leisure Suit Larry-styled Kaguya game.
