We have a discussion thread now? Yay!
AND an official date? 1◊
Woohoo
off the shitsYus.
Also, where exactly is this all going to take place, if there is a central location at all? I heard talk of using a mansion, but I'm not totally sure.
Yeah, I was wondering about the actual setting myself. Like, where in the world (not using a matter of speech) is this mansion?
the mansion is somewhere.
ok, ok, to elaborate; the gmluminati (if it actually existed) does have a particular region in mind for where the game starts. however, your characters will just get to find that out for themselves.

[forum cryptid: it/it's]Discover it for ourselves? Exciting!
I'm going to have to get used to calling you Ringabel instead of Jazzy, aren't I?
Interesting...
I think so! I'm about to change my skype name again, anyways.
Oh, I have a question.
It's the discussion board, ask away!
I asked a question similar to this through Skype, but this one is more broad. So, with my character being a mercenary, obviously, going for bounties is going to be a thing.
Is it fine that that happens from time to time? Like, semi-often? It pretty much isn't going to advance the plot much ever, but it might be a good bonding thing in a weird sort of way, since she might wanna bring someone along. It might also be good for those that wanna do something a bit action-y, or it could just lead to a humorous little scenario.
Also, a question along with this question (yo dawg i heard you like questions). So, since this is urban low fantasy, would monsters (using a sort of catch all term here) hiding in towns/cities be a thing?
To answer your first question, of course that'd be fine. It's interesting, and in long periods of down-time it can help break up the monotony if things get too predictable.
To the second question: undoubtably so, but the types of "monsters" that can either pass themselves off as human or hide from human sight.
Alright, thanks!
Still feel so awkward being the newb to everyone else's tight-knit group. It's wearing off though. XD
Yeah, it'll wear off soon enough. If you have a Skype you use for TV Tropes things, there's also a Skype chat for this game, although we make sure to put everything important in the thread because obviously not everyone can be expected to join the Skype.
Yeah, you'll be assimilated in to our amalgam soon.
Ah yeah, I got a Skype and I use that program for a whole bunch of other R Ps I'm in at this site. XD
Alright. Would you like to join? I can send you my Skype info so you can friend request me and I can add you to the chat.
Okay, is the "Purple Rain" thing for all characters, or is there a special case for that?
Congrats, Noli. You passed the test.
"Doki Doki Lit. Club" is a happy game where nothing bad happens. seriously tho? not for the faint of heart.Test? Could you explain please?
That phrase is in there to check whether people actually read the rules.
Neat.
So will I have to put it in? Or does asking the question render it moot?
This is the discussion thread for We Have All Been Gender Flipped 2.0. The Game thread is here. The signup thread is here. Please drop by the signup thread if you do not already have a confirmed character for information on the setting and how to apply.
Any particular plot ideas, ooc discussion, and general consensus between players is to happen here. As a note, please don’t post IC in this thread, as it tends to get rather irritating quickly.
Yes, that did say plot ideas! The previous game was run as much by the players as by the G Ms, with them suggesting and then running many of the short adventures the group would find themselves in. This is one of the aspects of the game that is being kept in this new iteration of the game. Here are some rules and guidelines on how to do plots.
-Random/Spontaneous Events: While the inverse may be true in real life, it is far easier to ask permission than beg forgiveness here. Adding in new powers, concepts, ideas, or anything not previously established in the universe for a character without running it by the G Ms first is prohibited; it makes the game very chaotic and can upset power levels and tone very easily.
-Scope of Plots: Generally, try to keep anything that you plan small-scale. If it has an impact on the world at large or the face of the game, it’s probably too much. Returning players may remember the (in)famous “London Incident” Explanation , which serves as a good example of what is definitely not within the boundaries here. On the other side of this coin, there is no such thing as something that is “too small”. We’re using the word “plot” to cover anything from a one-off event that may take a few hours of real time on up, so if you have any ideas, no matter how small, go ahead and suggest them.
-Involving Others: Obviously, no matter how wide you cast your net and how intricate you make your plot, you’re never going to be able to give the same amount of attention to all characters, and it would be silly to think otherwise. That being said, try and involve the other players in a larger way than “hey tag along with the more important characters while they do all the interesting things”. If you can’t set it up so that anyone but a few characters are important, try and set it up so that only those characters participate, so as not to bore the other players.
-Tone: Please, please, please don’t start in with plots where a given character or group of characters are “the chosen one”, either literally or in a figurative sense. They are isolating to the other players and go against the cooperative theme we are going for. Another note is to be very careful with kidnap plots, particularly ones that start out with a character being kidnapped. The previous game had a very rocky track record with those and there are enough pitfalls that it’s usually better not to even try.
If you have an idea for a plot, you can either propose it in this chat (if you want everything about it to be public knowledge) or send it to one of the G Ms (Immortal Faust, 4maskwolf, or Lectro Underground) if you want some or all of it to be a surprise. We’ll get back to you on it as soon as we get a chance to discuss it (please keep in mind that we all run this game in our spare time and are busy people in real life, so it may take some time to discuss the plot all the way through). If your plot, or a modified version of it, is approved, you can work with us to find a good date to start it. Unless your plot is something incredibly small, don’t expect to be able to run it within two weeks of proposing it due to discussion time (it might run in that time frame, but don’t count on being able to do that).
With all that said, the thread is now open to discussion!
