Then how was it able to float in the sky in the final chapter?

just started up. got Jeanne d'Arc and Kaleidoscope which seem pretty good.

any tips? I seem to have a vague understanding of how this game works but I don't know who's good and who isn't, and what events I should be saving my rainbow starbits for.

Jeanne is very useful early on but unfortunately she kind of sucks later on. Her NP interlude isn't going to be implemented for a long time, either, which is the one thing that leaves her somewhat viable later on. Kaleidoscope is very good.

What SR Servant did you start with? Herakles, Emiya and Elizabeth Bathory are the three best starting SRs while Siegfried and Stheno are notoriously bad. Marie is pretty decent thanks to her high survivability while Tamamo Cat is also okay for dailies and stuff. Carmilla is the best SR Assassin that can be rolled, I guess, but that doesn't mean much. d'Eon needs his third skill to be useful and without he sucks. With it, he's a situational tank. Nothing much to say about Martha.

Your free Saber Lily is godawful, don't bother with her unless you have nothing else to work on. As for three star Servants, Robin Hood, Ushiwakamaru and normal Cu are all solid picks. Medea too.

As for how to play, go through the story until you reach 30 AP and dump any exp you get on Jeanne or one of the SRs I mentioned if you got a good or decent one. When you get to 30 available AP you can run the 30 AP experience daily. Pick a good support and farm that as best you can until you're over 40 AP and feel confident in taking down 7-9 enemies that have 23k~ HP each, then farm that until your Servants are about as strong as you can get them, then go clear the story.

I suggest that after you clear Fuyuki you do at least one tenroll in the gacha. Saber Alter is very good but difficult to get normally.

Oh yeah and as for saving quartz, I don't think there's really a decent one until Halloween if they get released in the same order they did here. There's a gacha for Gilgamesh and I think Kintoki before Halloween though. Francis Drake comes out with Okeanos chapter though and she's very good and also a sexy pirate lady.

Anyway, I got Heracles for my starter which I'm pleased with. I want Tamamo Cat eventually only because I adore her, regardless of her quality.

It's unfortunate that Saber Lily is awful, though.

I have Robin Hood and Cu Chu and Medea

Though I think it's best just to have Jeanne and Mash? Because they seem to be steamrolling everything, but that might just be the story being easy. I have heard that Mash is really good, though.

Anyway I beat Fuyuki so I'm about to do another ten roll. Thanks for the advice!

Oh, do that amount of stars reflect on how good they are? Or is it literally just how rare they are, regardless of quality (meaning that 3 and 4 stars can have similar stats)?

edit: Got Alexander, two Cu Chu, Ishiwakamaru, Primeval Curse and Angel Song. Nothing terrible but nothing great, I assume?

The interlude you have just gives you a quartz and tells a short story. Dunno what it's about. Probably about how pure and noble Jeanne is.

Herk is the best starter, so congratulations. I suggest you focus on leveling him because he crushes Orleans and Rome thanks to his high attack, being a Berserker and having an evade skill at his first ascension.

You'll get to choose another SR soon and I recommend picking up Liz, Emiya or Marie if you happen to really like her. If you really want Tamacat I guess you can pick her, but honestly I think you'll probably end up getting her without too much work anyway. The SR pool is pretty small.

Mashu becomes really good later but right now she isn't much use once the difficulty goes up. Fuyuki is basically an extended tutorial and doesn't really have anything that's remotely challenging. She starts getting buffs in... London, I think? and between America and Camelot her level cap is raised and then finally she gets as good as she's going to at the end of Camelot.

Primeval Curse is terrible, Angel's Song is in theory okay but I've never used it.

Oh, right. Each chapter has Servants that are only unlocked by completing the chapter. For Fuyuki, it's Saber Alter. Orleans has Caster Gilles and Rome has Nero.

As for Mash, I guess I'll put her on the sidelines in exchange for Herc, then. I rather like the Berserker charcters anyway because hoo boy that damage.

Also good to know about the added units. I might stick around in Orleans just so I don't have more units that aren't Saber Alter added to the pool. Maybe.

Yes, it's one of the starting bonuses. We don't know when we're getting it, though. I'm probably going to pick up Emiya myself unless the Gil campaign comes first and I roll him instead.

Nero isn't bad either. She's got great survivability. The later chapters all have story unlocks as well, by the way, though I think only London, America and Babylon have ones that I think are particularly good.

And holy crap I just gained three levels from doing the friday daily once. That's nuts. I guess I should be doing the exp quest over the other two, though, since I'll want to be levelling my Berserker.

Guess I should hurry and level Emiya soon, if he's so good. Lucky me, getting him and Herc, I guess.

Speaking of Herc, do I need to do something before I can unlock his Bond Level 5 thing, or does he just requires a metric ton of bond exp? I'm guessing the 6-10 portion can't be done at all yet.

Don't forget to invest in some bronzes too. Saint George especially has a very good taunt to draw damage away from your squishier units, and Hans offers heals.

Aha, I can barely see EXP gathering in Herc's 5th star now. Tons of experience it is, I guess.

Bleye: Yeah, early on the dailies give so much exp that you can end up with like ten times your supposed maximum amount.

Tropay: Emiya isn't actually that good yet, honestly. He gets some strengthening quests and stuff later that make him much better.

So, I just rolled Medea, who is a personal fav and I heard she is an excellent NP spammer, but I also already a Caster Gil I was levelling, so I want to know which one is more worth my Caster Exp.

Should I get rid of Boudica?

Cause I feel like shit knowing she's in my roster.

The same can be said for Spartacus cause he's ugly as sin.

Caster Gil is Tamamo lite and a star generator.

It depends on whether you need a ST Caster or an AoE support Caster more.

slim: I wouldn't burn any Servant you don't already have at NP5. Sometimes they give event bonuses or can give you quartz for interludes and stuff.

Spartacus is good for clearing waves.

Yeah, she's the tankiest Servant in the game. She has the highest HP and the best defensive class. If her first two skills were better I'd appreciate her a lot more.

Still kinda want her on my main account. If we get a paid gacha I'll probably be happy with getting either her or Jack. They usually share a gacha.

Is Shazam someone here? This is at least the second request I've gotten from them and the timing is pretty clear. Actually, let me know if you send a request because I don't recognize the other names here either.

Jeanne would be amazing if a taunt was added to her second skill and a self-heal was added to her first.

^^ You should probably update your supports then. Having nothing but Mashu show up is very sad.

^ If Revelation's star count per turn were increased a little and then a heal per turn on top of that I'd be satisfied there. Then the second skill... A taunt would be nice, but it doesn't feel like it makes much sense. Maybe throw in an enemy part attack down as well as increasing the NP damage down effect to a respectable level? It'd be an interesting way to survive an enemy NP by simply reducing the damage to zero instead of relying on evade/invul/defense up.
