My impression from what I've seen of CCC online is that it's heavy on gratuitous sexual content, and what I played of the event did nothing to contradict that impression.

I am suspicious of the hype.

Well yeah, Emiya goes around dressed like a leatherman and Gil defeats a villain via weaponized strip-tease.

And I'm suspicious of any hype by default, but that doesn't stop me from being a salty bitch over not being able to check it out by myself.

Well for all the horniness in the event we got a pretty good story. Same with foxtail, where we can have an entire chapter with a combo loli+giantess+vore fetish bonanza, only to follow it up with a heartrending character death.

The horniness is a feature ultimately. As for why it didn't get translated, probably cause it was a PSP game late in the consoles life span.

Good story for the game, yes, not for Last Encore.

That last one's less gratuitous sexual content and more just Gil in general. This is the same guy who was just sitting there butt naked in the rubble while waiting for Kirei to wake up.

X2 last encore is based off OG extra, not CCC

Never stopped Xsee D from translating Trails in the Sky I & II and the script of just the latter is nearly the size of the Bible, I'll have you know.

That's 714k words to 780k words, if you're wondering.

It crosses into 1 million with both combined.

Even if CCC hasn't been translated, you can and SHOULD LISTEN TO THE SOUNDTRACK

Sakura Labyrinth is one of my personal favorite Fate OPs and it baffles me that it never made it into the 15th anniversary vocal song compilation, over the top/Anima Ataraxia/Moon Salto II/love is like poison/bottom black, moon gazer are great battle themes, and Lunar Mare in Tranquility/Calamity/inner core harmonics/reminiscence/last piece again are some really nice atmospheric tracks.

We know, a lot of the tracks were ported to the SERAPH event.

I'm more impressed by the OP, personally: normally anime-style O Ps for JRP Gs are more stale than a week old slice of white bread, but CCC's?

10/10, I'd even rank it higher that the Persona's O Ps and that is no small amount of praise.

I particularly like the way they managed to establish Gilgamesh's power and attitude in just two shots.

So, quick question. The entry for Beneath the Mask for the Foreign Priestess says she glares and show utter contempt, but it doesn't really indicate for who. Are they glaring at the player or are they glaring at Wodime? If it really is Olga Marie reborn, both options would work, since she could resent us for failing to save her and correcting the singularities, but could also resent Wodime for earning her fathers favor.

It's referring to the protagonist since I was trying to use gender-neutral pronouns with "them".

In such cases it's better to just use "the protagonist" again.

Or "MC", if you're trying to be brief.

Question, where does the claim Nasu said Gudako and Mash's relationship is meant to be platonic come from? I'm kind of curious on the whole context since it feels rather odd and contradictory to the game

It's an old quote, so the likely answer is that he just changed his mind on that.

He's not the first, nor will he be the last, writer to do that.

Still I'd like to see the quote, I've only ever heard about it. Though considering how extra is written making the quote at all feels weird, it's not like Nasu has ever shown any reservations towards Yuri

True, but one thing he is known for is to change his mind at the drop of a hat.

Like, for instance, rewritting an entire chapter of the game and make it a thousand pages long homage to Godzilla.

I mean the results speak for themselves, but most sane people would just leave that for the next chapter.

Whatever hus reasons for ever saying that, he probably noticed he, and everyone else on the writer's room, would have to write two sets of dialogues to keep that consistent, and it being a pretty insignificant detail anyway...

This dangerously skirts on wiki drama so I don't want to get too into this matter, but that claim from what I can tell is primarily from a now banned editor who uh tended to take anything on reddit as immediate gospel no matter what and had some pretty weird biases overall.

It's been four years so I don't remember the exact specifics on how egregious it got but he took the early EOR speculation on whether the Demon Pillars remaining and blew it up into "Roman Survived", claimed that the CCC event was to revive Olga Marie, and got mad over anyone disputing the idea that Shuten-douji wasn't a universally beloved character.

I mean, it probably was somewhere on Reddit or Beast's Lair given how 95% of his story-related edits were almost straight copy-pastes from there or BL but good luck finding it now that discussion about that is now universally "did Nasu say this or not".
