Charlie thinks Bathory is paladin material so it's not like they had any high bars for anything to clear in the first place
Merlin would totally teach "The wackier the better!"

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I'm sure Bradamante's outfit is somehow Astolfo's fault
Heart of StoneEdit:
@ Nouct
I hope he meant Liz Brave. Though I agree that's not much of a high bar.
Merlin, we know you are a benevolent (sort-of) emotion eater, but that doesn't mean you get to act like you need an emotional high wherever you go.
...please, don't make this part of a "get Ruggiero's attention" plot.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.idk if Bradamante has Trap of Argalia* in her skillset but I hope it's better than Astolfo's crap version if she does
*I've been thinking it's why her NP has AOE stun but that's just conjecture and hope that she doesn't have it as a skill
EDIT: Nope he's talking about the OG Lancer version

How much do you value your money, raziel? 'Cause I'm gonna bet that's exactly it.
...either that or, during the event's story, Bradamante runs into Quetz, who convinces her wrestling is the best thing ever, and from that moment on, Dam Dam fully dedicates her existence to catch.
Would explain her clothes, the difference between wrestling and porn can get rather technical sometimes.
In all seriousness, though, I'm honestly unconcerned: Christmas events are all written by Nasu and they have yet to dissapoint.
I mean, you all be honest, how many of you reacted the same way back in last year when Santaltera was revealed?
Edited by HailMuffins on Dec 11th 2018 at 5:38:04 PM
Santaltera gets a pass in my book because Altera is already too ludicrous of a concept in the first place, so making her an event character is more believable to me than seeing her as Attila. No offense to her fans, of course.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.Frankly, I think the one hurt the most by the association with Attila is Altera herself.
Because the character is genuinely good, but her status as "Artistic License – History gone too far" will always hang above like a damn albatross.
It's a pity, really, because the whole thing could be fixed by simply making her a weapon Attila used rather than the person itself.
There's certainly room: from what I know of Attila, as far Rome was concerned, he showed up completely out of the blue. It could also open up venues to interpret their relationship: did Attila saw Altera as a tool and nothing more? Was Altera aware of what she was doing?
But, alas, it shall never be.
The Attila identity does seem like a filler at times. Since Extella got delayed, she debut first in FGO and so we only got her in the Atilla role without much focus on it, while the meat of the plot surrounding her was reserved for Extella that only came out much later, revealing a lot more about her characterization such as multiple personalities/sizes and alien origins. By this point the fact that she's supposed to be Attila seems rather insignificant compared to her role as a cosmic entity in the lore. They might have been better off just flat out having her introduced along the veins of True Ancestors or namedrop Ultimate Ones to get fan intrigue, instead of just being seen as yet another genderbend when that identity isn't even too relevant to her character.
And Karl/Charlie are connected to her because Velbers.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.@ muffins
As I said before, the two changes that could make Altera more plausible with her historical connection to Attila beyond the Extella stuff would be:
a) Have her be found in the Eurasian steepes instead of North Africa. The Huns were around before Attila rose to power and repeatedly pillaged the Eastern Roman Empire, it could be in this frame of time that they found her in either the frozen north or in the Ural mountains.
b) Have Bleda (Attila's historical younger brother) be the one that becomes the historical Attila the Hun, probably after killing Altera herself to gain full control of the Hunnic horde and of her Sword of Mars, this can also be wielded to her character as the records mention that Attila killed Bleda to be sole ruler of the Huns before his incursion in the Western Roman Empire.
That's because the sword Joyeuse was thought to be the Sword of Mars in some traditions before the connection was disproven some time later.

Instead of focusing on relatives that divide us, maybe we should try to find the absolutes that tie us.Always got the impression that the downplaying of her association with Attila is TM's way of admitting they dropped the ball there.
Probably just me, though.
Those are good, but I think they would be better off just exorcising the historical connection entirely and making Altera something like a Ultimate One or anything along those lines.
I believe that, if the whole thing was done nowadays, that's what they would've have done, but no one really believed in the future of FGO back then (it had a very rough start, being generous), and certainly no one seemed to think it would become the main story in the Nasuverse.
No one really thought her whole character through, is what I'm saying.
...nobody seems to have thought anything through in the plot of Extella.

I know but the Velber ruins is what connected Karl to Velber and this Altera.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Sounds like "damned if you do, damned if you don't" because we kinda have to have her around.
So, basically, what happened with Sanzang? Except we all know Sanzang is more charming.
I don't think this franchise will ever top the ridiculousness that is Artoria's magic penis. I've had way too many people ask me why didn't Saber let herself get pregnant or just have the writers genderbend Morgan.
... I actually forgot about Santaltera and her whole existence. Is that a bad thing?
In either case, I don't even care about Altera since, as the past couple of posts have said, they butchered the Atilla identity. It feels so tangential, leaving us left with... whatever Altera is supposed to be besides alien superweapon meant to destroy.

A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Charlie's rainbow sword isn't sufficiently rainbow, Altera should give him the almighty tri-color pen
@erazor: Depends, do you play JP or NA?
NA.
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh. Then it's probs because she is yet to come.
I keep forgeting stuff about JP as well.
Edit: So, Gramps is immune to charm.
The thot jokes write themselves, really.

"Thot. Offer thine head."
A cruel, sick joke is still a joke, and sometimes all you can do is laugh.Poor Siduri.
The Lahmu get even creepier when they start talking. And that was not a low bar.
Regardless of your opinion of the last American election, we can all agree on one thing- The Chinese Communist Party can choke on scrotes!I like Altera and think she'd be better off without the Attila thing from the other direction - it's probably one of the most shoehorned connections to Nasuverse connections in all of Fate.
Also, a tiny bit racist? Like, hey, this Mongol dude (or woman, I suppose) took over a big ol' chunk of western Asia and made incursions into the Gauls and the Romans' territories. Guess he must have been an alien with a broken-ass laser sword for a Mongol to win that much!
It's been fun.mixing up mixing up mixing up the cultures waaaait
Secret SignatureAttila was not a Mongol. We still haven't seen any of them.
Red may have mixed Atilla up with Genghis, but I think the point still stands.
Don't catch you slippin' now.
Especially since Merlin mentoring a "fictional" King means it happened in history FGO.
Which isn't surprising because the Age of Man is fiction incarnate. Only humans believing the fiction makes it true.
