Amanchu! anime, hell yeah!
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Wasn't New Game! announced for July 2016?
Also, I've been waiting for both Amanchu! and New Game! for so freaking long. The art of the former looks kinda weird in the PV though, specifically Pikari...

Active Raid 2nd Season: Hell yes! Didn't know about this until just now.
Berserk 2016: Great to see something besides the Golden Age Arc getting adapted for once.
Shokugeki no Soma: Ni No Sara: Good. I was hoping this would continue.
These 3 are all I care about right now.
Oh, is it time to be disappointed by the Rewrite anime already? Should be fun to see how they screw it up. Wait, let me try that again. What's the opposite of fun? It'll be that.
The notable thing about the berserk project is that it's a TV series. So it might be like the old TV anime, where they censor things a little bit but are able to show the full story without truncating it like the movies.
Also that new Susumu Hirasawa song sounds amazing but that's par for the course.
Been very excited about Amanchu! every since it was announced.

"But if that happened, Melia might actually be happy. We can't have that." - Handsome RobSecond season of Shokugeki no Soma and.... oh Taboo-Tattoo is getting an adaptation! Nice!
So that's two things already.
Arslan is back! Finally!
What's this about a previously untold sixth route in Rewrite? I hadn't heard that.
Though it sounds like an excuse for a route combining elements of all the other routes, which could be disastrous.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Hatsukoi Monster seemed to be interesting. The original manga is slightly less innocent than the currently airing 12-sai, which is saying something, albeit it's just the first 5 chapters.
Hmmm. No airsoft anime this time around.
Still getting new series! This one looks like it's about time travel. Might be an edutainment series?
Okay, with a month left most everything should be announced, so preview time
A few caveats before I begin, though:
- I made a point of checking out any manga I could find, but didn't get very far in the ones I wasn't already reading. If some of what I say ends up being inaccurate later on, uh, my bad
- You should probably follow along the list and watch the PVs. I'll be linking the ones I directly refer to, but they're good for figuring out what a series will be like in general
- I'm going to be skipping the shorts and kiddy series because I don't really care, most of you don't care, and who knows if they'll even get subbed?
- Japanese promotional material tends to be the opposite of spoilery and not include much information on things beyond the basic premise. Some of this is going to be guess work
New stuff:
91 Days
A boy infiltrates the mafia to take revenge on them during the prohibition era. Probably not going to have magic powers, but it doesn't look like it's going to be historically accurate, either. Pretty, though. Also, of the 9 characters announced, 100% are male
Amaama to Inazuma
Literally "Sweetsweet and Lightning". I'm not sure about the lightning, but it's definitely sweet(sweet). So, it's about a widowed math teacher trying to raise his pre-school age daughter. He gets some help from a female student of his (...I didn't notice anything romantic there, but can't say it won't come up). There's some exploration of loneliness, lots of exploration of cooking, and the whole thing is very heartwarming and makes me kind of ill
Amanchu!
For the more heavily themed cute girls doing cute things series there's a continuum between "the premise is an excuse for me to show you cute girls" and "the cute girls are an excuse for me to show you my hobby". This one sits towards the latter side. So, uh, it's about scuba diving. It seems like something I should like, but have never been able to really get into. Also, by the author of Aria
Ange Vierge
So, this is a TCG adaption. Not necessarily terrible, but the odds are against it. Fairly standard plot of some worlds fusing together and now we have magic fighting teenage girls at an academy. PV is... terrible, mostly, but focuses more on action and fanservice than anything else. The head writer's history is best with comedies, so this is especially worrying. Might be worth watching if you want your generica with yuri subtext?
B Project Kodou Ambitious
Male idols. Female lead so probably a reverse harem?
Battery
It's about baseball. Now that 90% of you skipped to the next entry, on to the plot. It's specifically about a pitcher and a catcher forming a partnership called a "battery". Somewhat angsty, introspective feeling to it. Of note, has two manga, one shoujo, one seinen, and the anime is airing on noitaminA
Cheer Danshi!!
Cute boys doing cute things, cheerleader version. I mean, there might be some focus on the actual sporting aspect of it, but it looks much more character-focused so far
Saiki Kusuo no Sai Nan
Gag comedy about a stoic boy surrounded by weirdos. Also the boy is an incredibly powerful psychic. 's alright. Heavy on First-Person Smartass. Looks like it's airing as shorts on weekday mornings then airing compiled Saturday nights, which can't do good things to the pacing
DAYS
Soccer! Shounen soccer! Also something about the friendship between the two main characters
Fudanshi Koukou Seikatsu
A comedy about BL, where the main character is a male BL fan. It's decent enough, but you should probably be a least reasonably fond of BL if you're going to watch this
Fukigen no Mononokean
A boy gets roped into being the assistant for a grumpy (male) exorcist that happens to be his classmate. Imagine a Lighter and Softer XXX Holic where Yuuko and Doumeki are the same person and you've got a decent idea of what this is like
Handa-kun
Prequel to Barakamon, focusing on Handa's highschool years. By the original author, so it shouldn't be too different. Art-style and cast look like generic cute boys doing cute things, though
Hatsukoi Monster
Shoujo manga where the male lead is a fifth grader (but doesn't look it). ...I'm sorry, this is so far away from the sort of thing I like that I have no idea if it's good
Kono Bijutsubu Niwa Mondai Ga Aru
Sort of a comedy about the only normal girl in an art club and it's quirky members, but her feelings for this useless otaku that's obsessed with drawing "the perfect 2D wife" also play a significant part. ...I was not overly impressed
Love Live Sunshine
Sequel/spinoff of Love Live. New cast, mostly expies of the original but with appearances and relations shifted around. New director. Should be able to jump into this one even if you're unfamiliar with the original
Masou Gakuen H×H / Hybrid×Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia
Generic LN thing except that it's selling itself as softcore pornography. Roughly 50% odds there'll be an uncensored version before the BDs come out
Mob Psycho 100
Psychic boy has to keep his emotions under control. Comedy where people shout a lot. From the author of One Punch Man but didn't really remind me of it
Nejimaki Seirei Senki Tenkyou no Alderamin / Alderamin on the Sky
Fantasy war series. Based on an LN and it kind of shows. Like, it's trying to be something grand but it still has aggressively quirky personalities and ridiculous outfits. Has potential, at least
New Game!
Cute girls at a game studio. Has a good balance between premise and antics, with the game development driving what happens but no long lectures on how things work. Not the funniest, but well made, cute, and increasingly gay as it goes on. One of my favourite 4koma series, to be honest
Orange
A girl gets a letter from her future self that (essentially) tells her to save the new transfer student. A romance and more-or-less female-oriented, but a lot more mature than most shoujo romances that get adapted. I almost liked what I read!
Qualidea Code
So apparently some kids were put into cold sleep to avoid a war with some extradimensional enemies and then they woke up with magic powers. Now they're fortifying three cities around the Tokyo Bay area. So, Shingeki, but more generic
Regalia The Three Sacred Stars
Some sort of mecha series focusing on pairs of sisters? Can't find much info. Staff is also pretty new
ReLIFE
A dramedy about reliving a year of highschool. The PV does a good job of showing what it's like. Better than I can, at least
Rewrite
Key Visual Arts adaption. So, supernatural going-ons and moe. Judging from the PV, a sort of old-school moe. It's said to cover the previously-untold route of "that girl", and I have no idea if this means it'll be suitable for new fans
Scared Rider Xechs
So apparently there was an alien invasion that abruptly stopped and now a bunch of hot guys that were supposed to fight it have to deal with civilian life and a new female instructor... except that the announced characters include a number of aliens (named after guitar brands for some reason) and the PV has a fair bit of action. Not really sure where this is going
Servamp
Boy meets cat, cat turns out to be a vampire and now there's a vampire war going on. Wasn't particularly taken by the manga, but it does have an interesting gothic carnival aesthetic. One of those technically-shounen-but-probably-actually-aimed-at-fujoshi series
Taboo-Tattoo
A boy accidentally get a tattoo that gives him magic powers. Special magic powers, because he's the main character. Where it gets interesting is that this was a weapon developed by America and now he's involved in a conspiracy between in and another major power. I actually quite liked what I read of the manga. A bit more mature than the fighting series we usually get
Tales of Zestiria the X
On the up side, this is made by ufotable and the Tales of the Abyss anime was perfectly watchable. On the down side, I've only heard bad things about Zestiria. On the... left? side "the X" is a very strange name for an anime adaptation and would normally indicate a crossover. Also, by all accounts it's quite gay
Tsukiuta
The months personified as male idols. Don't know much else
Sequels I have things to say about:
Berserk
I think this should be picking up right after the movies. I have no idea if this is compatible with having watched the earlier TV series instead. It's CG with some manga effects which is kind of hit-or-miss
Dangan Ronpa 3 The End of Hope's Peak Academy
Sequel to the first first two games, actually two series running at once, you should already know if you're watching this or not
D.Gray-Man Hallow
I have no idea if you can jump into this after having watched the previous anime but not read the manga. It's almost certainly aimed at fans of the manga, and these sort of things have been known to skip material
The Heroic Legend of Arslan: Fuujin Ranbu
8 episodes! The rest of the cour is filled out by a Nanatsu No Taizai special
Sequels I don't have things to say about:
Active Raid 2nd Season
Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!
Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA☆ILLYA 3rei
Shokugeki no Soma: Ni No Sara

I have high hopes for Puzzle & Dragons Cross. Being an adaptation of the mobile game of Japan, it should be able to top Monster Strike, which is quite well received.

I'd like to mention that in spite of how it's been up to this point, Illya 3rei is Darker and Edgier, a little more akin to F/SN's Heaven's Feel route. It also happens to be mostly based on Angel Notes.
I don't really think that's going to turn people off of it. It may have been a lighter and softer spin-off, but it's still a Fate series work after all. This is just a heads up so you guys don't get shocked going in.
Damn. I hope that Arslan won't be rushed, considering its running time is even less than 1-cour...
ACCOUNT NO LONGER USED. *straps on jetpack*Oh yes, an Alderamin anime! I'm pretty fond of this series. A fantasy series where the little imperial princess isn't an insufferable Royal Brat deserves at least some attention.
And I thought Rewrite already had an anime but... I'll probably check it out, at any rate.
Nah, the previous anime covered all of the first 16 volumes and then some − it was the blessed era of long, filler-packed adaptations. Hallow will most likely skip the Komuvitan-D arc, but outside of that there isn't that much material to cover (6 to 7 volumes, and the latest ones are rather light in text).
edit: Eeeh... after watching the PV, I'm really not a fan of Alderamin's chara-design. :x Ikta looks much more generic than in the manga, among other things.

Alderamin has an incredibly Shoujo art style for it's subject matter.
Nice to see Chinese stuff adapted but… The synopsis sounds like every light novel ever. It's quite amazing.
Comments on week-old comments. Specifically things I happen to have read before.
Female student seems to have a crush on teacher, but it's downplayed and isn't likely to go anywhere. The emphasis seems to be more on him being a father figure for her, since her own parents are divorced and she rarely sees her father. I guess you could say the theme is in people finding happiness through community, with the implication being that it takes a village to raise a child, and the dad trying to do it it alone was possibly misguided.
Also, it's a cooking manga in case that wasn't clear. Each chapter is about them cooking something new.
Psychic boy has to keep his emotions under control. Comedy where people shout a lot. From the author of One-Punch Man but didn't really remind me of it
I'd say that the similarity to One-Punch Man is mostly that it has weird, apathetic protagonists who feel out of place in their own world. And also happen to be overpowered. From what I can tell though, the most beloved character is the con artist mentor guy who doesn't believe in supernatural powers and keeps telling all these people to grow up and live real lives.
It was okay, but I stopped reading it and I'm not really looking forward to this.
A dramedy about reliving a year of highschool. The PV does a good job of showing what it's like. Better than I can, at least
Yeah, it's about a depressed salaryman wondering where his life went wrong before being given an opportunity to relive high school. Not through time travel or anything, but by being de-aged through a pill and registered in a new high school under a fake identity. This is all apparently part of some ridiculous experimental therapy that doesn't make much sense, but the basic assumption seems to be that you need to be properly socialized in high school to lead a good adult life.
The gimmick is that he has the attitude and perspective of an adult so he easily cuts through high school social bullshit, to the benefit of everyone involved, while also being terrible at schoolwork since he hasn't touched a textbook in over a decade.

Summer 2016 Anime
Well, the page is up and has a good number of entries, so here's the thread. Lots of female-oriented series this time around
As always, feel free to add or correct anything wrong or missing
