Konosuba is a good comedy, though.
Its also very obvious the people polled are going by the anime versions of the series.

I don't know if it really fits, honestly. Sure, a lot of Subaru's problems come from the Witch's affection for him, but the vast majority of bad stuff that happens is due to him rushing into situations he doesn't understand, either with the (mistaken) thought that he knows everything he has to, like with the final few cultist loops; the assumption that things will just work out if he's earnest enough, like the royal capital arc; or just plain getting blindsided by people he didn't realize were threats, like Rem the first few times he died in Roswaal's mansion.
Subaru suffers a lot, and the reason he suffers repeatedly is due to the Witch, but almost all of it within each timeline comes from Subaru's pride.
It's been fun.

^ Rem is gone because she was eaten by Gluttony, the same way people eaten by the White Whale vanish. Subaru remembers her, and as far as I know the current and continuing overarching plot in the web novel is taking down Gluttony to get her back. I don't know about ^^, but I expect it will be addressed in the second season, even if they have to deviate from the webnovel.
