Even though Lawrence is insane, nothing seems to have stated that he ever actually attacked someone who didn't deserve it, so I think ??? might actually take a genuine liking to him XD

Oh, he actually DID attack people out of the blue during his knight-errant years. In the course of his misadventures he has slaughtered a couple of buffaloes, assaulted numerous bystanders for insults both imagined and real, beaten entire schools of swordsmanship, and time and time and again evaded capture by the authorities through daring features that would have put action heroes to shame.

No wonder you've been gone for so long. Anyway, Lawrence doesn't seem to like the shadow who claims to be an angel. If you're going to trick him, you might as well look the part. Lawrence is a simple fool, but not even he will be so easily deceived when you don't disguise yourself.

BTW, for those of you wondering about the genre of Unknown Identity (The one I made, not Megalo Strike Back), it's electro swing. It's really awesome.

Also, I can't tell if Lawrence is ???'s Blue Oni, or his Red Oni - on one hand, ??? is laid-back and less poetic, and seems to be a bit less wise than Lawrence on many occasions, but he is also unbelievably intelligent and far more sane.

When I first made Sir Lawrence I expected him to be the epitome of insanity. He would have had "visions from god" and attacked people at the slightest provocation. It seems that I've gotten a change of heart since I had this desire to create a character that was both thought-provoking and interesting.

Sir Lawrence fits the trope of the tragi-comedic character. He is a man trying to fighting a war against the tragedies of his life with laughter and intrigue, and he is continuing to win these battles of satire. To accomplish this he must act insane in a world that's too far up its ass. The reason why he acts so ridiculous is because he wants to show how ridiculous the world is. If a clown like him can make fun of the world then what can't be made fun of?

However, he is running into another tragedy, and he is slowly steering away from the course of sanity itself. With each skirmish against sadness won, he is starting to convert the real world into a fantasy world of his own making. His imagination is so strong that it will eventually override his intellect and destroy his good sense. Soon the poor man will be unable to distinguish between reality and fantasy. He will be trapped in his own happiness, and that is one of the saddest things that can happen to a man.

By the time Sir Lawrence arrives in Dusty Village he is already half-insane and half-sane at the same time. This is a critical point in his life whether he will succumb to his madness or carry the light of his reason for another day, month, or year before slipping again into lunacy. Deep inside his mind is a battle for his soundness of judgment, and the forces of rationality and irrationality clash within his mind, body, and soul.

Perhaps the only way he can be saved is to make him so sad that he loses the will to live. Even so, this dark choice is nearly impossible to accomplish because Sir Lawrence is too happy with himself. Happiness... sadness... what's the difference to this man if it's going to kill him anyway? They are both poisons and cures, and Sir Lawrence is only too happy to drink the poison of happiness.

It seems that happiness is a form of madness while sadness is just another form of madness. He will either fall into the sky of hope or fall straight down the ground into despair. A grim future awaits him that can be darker than his past.

I'm thinking of having the hospital play like Submerged Castle from Pikmin 2. Anyone familiar with that game might know what's going to go down.
