So I don't know if this has been brought up before, but Quintessence as it exists in the show is essentially Spiral Power / Getter Rays.
Especially the latter, with how it seems to actively seek a physical form and all (first with Voltron, since Allura's dad did not create the Lions with combining in mind) and then...that earth ship, the name of which I've forgotten.
One Strip! One Strip! The malevolent purple Quintessence that made Zarkon evil(and a zombie) has also been unexplained.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.I kinda wish they picked a different name since Quintessence means "Fifth Element" and the Black Lion already represents a fifth element in regards to the lions' theming.
If Quintessence was half as awesome as Getter Rays in their applicability (Quintessence seems to have much more rigid properties) there would be a lot more fun to be had.
The fifth lion represents Quintessence as the fifth element.
Kinda obvious.
Heavens=Space=Aether=Quintesence are the same thing as the fifth element.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Shiro and Keith's relationship is basically a homage to that of Kamina and Simon so it's hardly the first thing that would be inspired by Gurren Lagann.
That's pretty consistent with how networks work, the big wigs love to have their cake and eat it too with representation. Showrunners will fight for every inch and still not get what they want and the executives will act like that minuscule representation they allowed is God's gift to fandom.
I'm a bit disappointed they didn't upload the NYCC trailer.
Also, hey, the show's ending on December 14.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).Here's a link of the NYCC trailer:
Well, damn...
There was no Q&A for this panel. Gee, I wonder why? It's especially sad because according to sources, this is VLD's last panel at NYCC.
About the trailers: to the surprise of nobody, Haggar/Honerva is our last villain, but it's interesting how she seems to be creating the Altean Empire Lotor dreamed of. It's still too early to say if the Lotor we saw was an illusion or if he's back, but my money is on the former. All in all, the NYCC trailer seems adequately bombastic and hype-inducing for the final season, while the youtube one feels very "meh". I also liked what I've seen of the poster they gave this time around. this part, in particular, makes me really happy.◊
Also, prior to NYCC, Pidge's VA made a livestream on istagram that apparently sunk KeithxAcxa, so maybe people will stop complaining about a relationship that probably won't happen anyway.

If that last spoiler is true then good, as the circumstances surrounding that relationship would be chock-full of horrendous Unfortunate Implications if allowed to move forward. On a related note, apparently Zethrid was confirmed to have survived? I haven't seen any evidence for it besides some troper's edits though.
She apparently showed up in the trailer at NYCC. Although that same conversation Bex had also allegedly debunked Sheith as well, meaning Keith will probably be single...or they will somehow in the span of 13 episodes reconstruct the Keith/Allura romance from every other incarnation of the show (not bloody likely).
I like it better that way. Without romance I mean.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Sheith was never a likely possibility, especially given how difficult it was to confirm even just Shiro as gay. Besides, Keith has always struck me as a Chaste Hero or Celibate Hero. Given his personality it's not like Keith would make a very good romantic partner anyway.

There’s some Unfortunate Implications about race lifting Allura and then not having the set romance she had in literally every other version of the show, but it honestly falls in with how they handled Shiro.
It's pretty clear they're going the Nice Guy sort of romance arc between Lance and Allura, anyway.
They could be channeling the original GoLion, as they sometimes do. In that one, everybody in the team (post-Shirogane dying) was into Fala (Allura)... except for Akira (Keith), whom she was hinted to have feelings for. She still had a few romantic moments with the other guys, though, iirc.
But yeah, aside from Lance and Allura, which has been telegraphed for a while, I'll doubt we'll see any sort of romance within the main cast. Matt seems to have an alien girlfriend now, Hunk and Shay are kind of up in the air, and Pidge, Shiro and Keith seem to be going the No Romantic Resolution way, especially with the fight for Shiro's sexuality to even be shown and Pidge and Keith's lack of interest in romance. Just as well, since shipping took over this fandom in the worst way possible.

Although that same conversation Bex had also allegedly debunked Sheith as well,
Not necessarily.
Somebody asked Bex if there would be LGBT rep in the next season.
And they answered.
For those of you asking if there’s going to be LGBT rep this season, just a casual reminder that just because a character doesn’t have a partner doesn’t mean they’re not LGBT. Not everybody needs a **human** on their arm to prove that they are the identity that they are. Don’t want to be controversial right now, but that’s just how I feel about it. I don’t like it when people- it’s the same deal with people who are bisexual. If they’re in a hetero presenting relationship it doesn’t make them any less queer. Right? They’re still queer. They’re still exactly who they are, and that’s what’s important here. You are who you are no matter who’s on your arm, whether or not you have someone on your arm.
Which in my opinion sounds less like Nope...There won't be any LGBT relationships in Season 8 and more like Of course there is LGBT rep in voltron....Shiro is still alive is he not?
Bex dont want to/cant spoile if we will see Klance, Sheith, Pidge x another girl, Shiro x still alive Adam become canon.
So they use the question to make a broader point rather than wink to spoilers and I think that's awesome.
I'm glad Bex is taking the talk away from ships and towards how as far as LGBT representation goes, Shiro is already right there, right now, standing in front of the viewers. Just because he doesn't have a male partner at the moment and likely will not end up with one at the end doesn't make him stop being LGBT. Likewise I don't stop qualifying as bisexual or allowed to participate in LGBT events just because I'm not in a relationship at the moment.

Shipping takes over every fandom in the worst possible way, every damn time.
One Strip! One Strip! My takeaway was “your ship probably isn’t happening, but shipping doesn’t take away your identity. Being gay doesn’t stop when you’re single.”
I think that is a good lesson for the ship obsessed fandom and one worth repeating.
Media has kinda intoxicated people that the only way to be happy is for characters to end up with someone. Which has lead to many a ship that was strangled by red strings.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.
Looks like last-minute animation touchup work. It's quite normal to have them and ADR up until the last minute even for shows where the bulk of work is made far in advance.
