Has anyone actually seen the four star bento stuff?

I don't know if anyone here saw their DBS TOP roundtable.

I kept up with their anime reviews until they "cancelled" the channel after My Hero's third season ended.

I can vouch that Advanced Adventure is a fantastic 2D beat 'em up.

I watched it for a while but I'm planning on going through the backlog when I get the chance.

Meh, Their hipsterism started shining through a bit much in it, so I stopped watching.

They'll learn SOON enough that you can do more than just a basic combo and super by HOLding directions while attacking.

They won't be able to show off ze best feature of the game, but that's fine.

God, I love Abridged Recoome. They pretty much rebuilt his personality from the ground up to be more in line with his pro-wrestling inspiration, and it worked.

F*cking love the whole Abridged Ginyu Force, really. Would watch spinoff, except that'd be really hard to do what with them being elite enforcers in a genocide business. And also parody versions.

Just watched Hells. Wow that movie was out there. The dubbing was great.

Kinda curious, was Recoome different in the japanese dub and manga than in the english dub

I remember Lani commenting in the Ultimate Tenkaichi let's play that the english dub was fuel to make Recoome look like an idiot, was that simply the voice or changes of dialouge?

Canon Recoome is actually a ballet dancer, not a pro wrestler (though the grabs indicate there is some inspiration from there).

I think the English dub is the one that made him sound like he's got a developmental disability. I don't think that was a thing in the original.

Yeah, he's got the stereotypical "DUH" musclebound goon voice in the dub.

It seems obvious to me that when that translation decision was made, the intent was not to be sensitive to people with developmental disabilities. That said, I kind of like the idea that the Freeza Force doesn't discriminate based on disability, they only care about how good you are at fighting and how willing you are to murder thousands.

Remember that time when Vegeta killed Nappa because a Saiyan with a broken spine was of no value to him? That kind of violently utilitarian thinking is a pretty apt depiction of how genocidal regimes treat people.

He seems pretty racist against Saiyans specifically, but aside from that. He mainly seems concerned with profit, and the supremacy of himself specifically.

...Anyway, Ginyu's Special Squad/Toku Sentai/Force seems to have a lot of leeway considering how much Freeza seems to honestly hate or be annoyed by the poses and the Dance of Joy.

Frieza's face whenever Ginyu does basically anything makes me think that he puts up with a lot of shit because of how good Ginyu is.

The only thing I’d say about Freeza was that he harbored doubts about the legend of the Super Saiyan. The only way he could prevent that from being fully realized was exterminating the Saiyans. Given that so few lived after that was more a mistake on his part. Granted, he had no idea Goku would escape safely while the planet was destroyed.

Racist or not, he was firm in believing that no one would be able to oppose him, until the Namek arc.

I was thinking of more how he uses "monkey" as a slur, honestly.

Like, from day one, apparently, according to DBS Broly.

Freeza's first words upon his dad giving him Planet Vegeta were "Hello Monkeys".
