Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe pic doesn't fit either; I'll go ahead and start an IP thread for it.
Would it be better to flesh the first two categories out to proper examples and add them to our usual standard of listing tropes, or flesh them out and leave them in their categories?
As for the example of Wiki Words, isn't that closer timed to how CamelCase is used in programming to make multiple words clearer in a single-word (no spaces) construct, as an evolution from using underscores that are a little cumbersome to use?
Check out my fanfiction!Flesh them out and sort by medium is I think the best case. Otherwise it just encourages this mess.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWow, that page is kinda rough. I've started sorting the examples by media here.
Ok I am confused on what the heck this trope is supposed to be. Anyone explain it to me?
Basically it's taking a normal word and making it a magical or otherwise special term by making it a proper noun.
For example:
- I used force to open the door. - This means you shoved it.
- I used the Force to open the door. - This means you shoved it with your mind.
So like FFVII's SOLDIER. Ok got ya, the page was quite opaque on that.
I guess it wasn't as clear as I thought it was.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThe 'Are magic' in the title really threw me, was thinking of something else besides normal words becoming a proper noun primarily in fantasy.
It's relatively similar to Bold Inflation, in a way, but with more consistency and meaning to which words it's applied to.
Check out my fanfiction! It's a related trope.

Way back in the year 2009, this trope page was created with some wonky formatting and example sorting. The problem is that it's been 7 years and no one has ever fixed it so now it's a weird and random mess of ZCEs and examples entirely unsorted by media type.
The trope definition is solid and it's got a decent wick count, but the examples are a mess. Holy fucking shit are they a mess.
The page is currently sorted into three sections:
