Then, the paladin managed to overhear the conversation going on nearby. "Hmm? The Ruckus? What are those? Another one of the groups in the City? Sounds like a name a bunch of pranksters would make,"
"A post per day keeps the GMs away!"
"Yes well, you know..." Arcade replied, somewhat hesitantly, "the city and... Shifting and all."

"I see... She did look pretty comfortable that night, at least given the circumstances" Curly mused as she listened to Trust and Friendship. "Miss Tarie is nice" was all Curly had to tell Rex before she walked over and tried to tug Lewis's arm to get the specter standing again "Come on Lewis, don't you start trying something like that"
Of course, right after Wang told the Annas to meet him at the library there just had to be a big blow up about the group they used to be a part of. Of course, most of them were bratty kids who probably wouldn't know what to do with a gang member if they ever met one. But the one man who seemed to at least know where the prison was was someone to keep more of an eye on. If he was lucky they'd all leave before the girls got there.
That was an issue for later, and the Japanese man turned his attention from it and to his phone as a woman replied using the same channel; Telling him what he was already aware of. He grinned and lifted the phone back to his mouth, sounding amused. "Oh I know. That's why I used it, since people are more likely to be listening." He chuckled at her question, a teasing tone to his voice. "I thought this channel wasn't for personal purpose. And just two lovely ladies I've been spending my time in the city with, who I promised to keep an eye on. Something this place makes difficult." He stated wryly.

Meanwhile, Garrett moved away to hide in the shadow of a sofa.
He pulled out his phone, and again tried to call Ben and ask him where Rex was.

Seeing how Tester and Curly quickly jumped to protect Tairee from his claims, Rex decided to just stop the conversation right then and there because it was probably going to start another fight again.
"That's beside the point, ok? In fact, forget about Tairee, she's the last person I want to talk about right now"
Trust's explanation about why Silanea had given him Connor's appearance was sweet—even if still a little odd. But regardless, if she needed positive relationships with human men, Rex could definitely help with that.
"Well, it's a good thing this guy doesn't find her attractive at all!" Rex pointed at himself smiling before realizing that what he just said came across as an insult directed at Silanea "Uh, I mean... she's not ugly but, you know... uh, nevermind"

"there's not much point to hide anything all things considered," said Sans, to Rex, giving him a shrug.
Sans took a couple of minutes to think of exactly how much he wanted to say about the subject and how to say it and as he did so, he pulled out his cellphone and seemed to start looking for something in it.
"i used to be a scientist, y'know? i always liked building things and i've read some books from the surface that talked about space and all, it was always a dream of mine to go to space, beyond the surface."
He then stopped looking at the phone and then looked directly at Rex.
"a lot of bad stuff happened in my time as a scientist, enough to make one wanna quit really. i kept going at it until one day i found something really strange was going on. an anomaly in time and space that was making the timelines jump left and right, beginning and restarting. that meant that at any moment, time could go back and nobody would notice a thing. somehow i managed to keep that knowledge in my head even when the time restarted. i could tell something was odd because of a constant feeling of deja-vu even though i didn't actually remember the stuff that happened."
Sans paused to take a deep breath, then letting out a bit of a chuckle.
"knowing that no matter what you do, at any moment and without warning, everything would reset and send you back to zero... you can't understand how it feels. to me it took away the meaning of doing anything and so i gave up hope. that would normally be enough to kill me, but i still had my bro and i cared about him too much to just die on him so i kept going for his sake, he pretty much became my entire reason to live, silly as it may sound."
He shrugged and then just began taking a lot at his surroundings idly, taking a small break before continuing.
"then one day i found it, the source of that anomaly. and who could've thought, but that source was a human. a human with the power to rewind time as much as they liked and even if they were to be killed, they still could go back just before their death and try again. that's why undyne lost, that's how a single person managed to kill their way through all of us. there was no hope of defeating someone like that, because we'd forget everything while they would learn our habits, patterns and get better until they could finally take us down. i knew that, so i didn't bother trying to attack them, even a watched them kill my brother who even though he knew the human was dangerous still stood in front of them and offered them a chance for redemption."
He sighed and shook his head as if trying to shake off that bad memory.
"i thought i could just wait and eventually they would do something different, they had all the time in the world to do that. but then i realized that if that kept going, they could destroy everything for good. that was when i was forced to do something, i put myself in their way and became the last obstacle in their way. i couldn't beat them, so i just tried to make them give up, convince them to go back and do the right thing. it didn't work. i probably killed them a bunch of times, i stopped counting at eleven, but by the time they beat me, they dodged all my attacks flawlessly and i was so exhausted i couldn't keep going anymore. that's when i brought to the city, right as the human was lunging at me."
He then put the cellphone back on his pocket and closed his eyes for a few seconds.
"and that's the story of how a person who had too much power in their hands managed to destroy an entire world in one day. hope ya liked it," he concluded, with a not a single hint of sarcasm in his tone of voice.
"Oh... boy oh *urp* oh boy, that was a... great story." Rick tried to clap in applause but failed to make his hands connect as he vaguely listened to Sans' tale. "Great story, really, the the, the *urp* the best story," he continued as he finished his nonexistent business.
"Okay team, we, we...." Rick trailed off as he tried to marshall the cars in his train of thought into a workable configuration. "We gotta... go... on to the next fight... onwards, and, and upwards, into the...unknown..." Rick took a step, stumbled, and then collapsed on Lewis's shoulder for support while taking another shot with his free hand, belching vaguely and wiping some of the stray drool off his chin with his sleeve.
"Alright, we gotta... do this... fucking.... dungeon crawler, thing..." he announced as though this were earthshattering news, "into the... breach...oh god I'm so drunk..."
"Okay, so, uh, if you wanna go inside," said Morty as he hopped out of the hat, "just, uh, look in that door or something." I mean, you can see the bodies right?
"Just, uh, i-if you're biting the bullet and going in, tell Rick I'm okay. I guess. Or maybe he's too busy fighting for his life or something to care."

I just want to help!
Cole had lowered his hat enough to let Morty and Arcade get out without any trouble, then plopped it back on his head, making a slightly distressed noise when it slid down a bit and he pushed it back into place. He took in the situation around the room, looking a bit concerned at everyone's state, focusing on Sans for a second longer, a definite look of worry on his face.
"...it's...too bad I can't sense them...maybe I could have said if..."
He let the thought trail off, wandering over, checking on the smaller folks, and glanced to Silanea with some concern. She seemed...more fragile as tiny as this, they all did...Cole had a distinct concern of potentially squishing people, and was quick to sit down and keep his hands to himself.
There was something on Silanea's head, though, it was tiny, but...
"What is that?" Cole asked, leaning forward to try and get a better look.

Ben glanced over at Cole and the two in his hat when they entered, and Ben turned Cole away from the door as he started to concentrate on the door.
"It's not a good idea," Ben muttered. "If we get involved something really bad could happen. I just... don't want you guys to get in danger too..." he admitted. It was then that he finally felt a rumbling in his bag. He pulled out his phone, which had somehow been put on vibrate. It was Garrett, the hooded man from before. Ben then pulled out the phone and put it up to his ear to answer it.
"Hello?" Ben asked.

Eve tilted her head, listening to the impressions of a conversation she was hearing, if not actively listening to. Something got her attention, however. A talk of time loops? She listened to Rex and Sans' conversation, tilting her head and hovering on the outskirts of vision silently.
When he finished she just bowed her head and kept on listening.

"They were pretending to be pranksters, so that's intentional. They were a cult led by a greater daemon of the Chaos god Tzeentch. The daemon was sent back to its home universe, and the gang collapsed after that" Miss Tairee told Astolfo, rather plainly and neutral in tone.
Samson raised an eyebrow slightly, then shrugged apathetically. "Big concrete walls and a few watchtowers. Best way to get around the city is to keep turning at every intersection you get to, and look around when you do. Unless you've got a way to fly" Samson explained to Riddler. "Good luck with the little hero brigade" the man then added as he turned and started to walk away.
"Hey! I'm talking to you, with the pink eye mask!" Louie yelled again, hanging from the underside of Thomas' flying broom as the young wizard descended them down towards the scene from up on the desk. "Don't ignore me! What're you looking for Ruckus for, huh?!" the young trainer continued, his tone accusatory.
Meanwhile, the conversation of sorts between Spiderbee and Wang continued. "I'm not asking for personal reasons! I thought maybe there was a story to be told here; this is the news channel, after all!" Little Spiderbee's voice said defensively. "But if there's nothing more important going on here, then I have to ask you get off the channel!" the fairy's voice then added, sounding a little indignant.
"Oh yeah, and I'm sure your new boyfriend not being with you has nothing to do with you being late either" Dave sarcastically noted in a disbelieving tone. "What did you do, get into a fight?" the doctor then asked, though didn't sound like he really cared.
Friendship looked at Rex with a mildly confused and offended expression, before looking at Sans as he told his story. "That sounds awful..." Friendship muttered, frowning sadly.
Tester floated there in silence, his screens still idly turning on and off at random.

"That's fine. It's just a stalling tactic to make things easier if people do have to go back in, if someone doesn't have anything better to offer."
There wasn't anything obviously wrong with it, but Curly still insisted on trying to drag me to my feet, objecting without giving a reason why. "Why not. If it'll work, then how's it not a valid strategy." I pulled my arm away.
I mean, I know this was the part of every anime where everyone rallies around the dude who's feeling in the dumps that they shouldn't be avoiding everyone and can offer much better than just staying out of everyone's way, but I didn't buy it, I didn't want to hear it, I didn't care for empty pity...
Oh yeah Rick was still standing there.
I coughed, or made a rough approximation of a cough if you wanted to be technical about it, and fanned the nasty smell of alcohol away but otherwise just. Stared at him, debating if there was any point asking his input. But he clearly hadn't been listening, and repeating myself just seemed so exhausting.

Raising her Waffle Magisword skyward, the woman smiled as she watched Yuna scarf down the spread while keeping an eye out for the giant fairy cow. "And no, I only have a few food based Magiswords. These wonderful little guys can do all the fun things, not merely limited to the conjuration of edible substances. Useful for both adventures and every day life, wot."

"Oh, a former cult led by a demon? Yep, definitely sounded like trouble." He looked at the man who had asked about the Ruckus, along with the City Knights trying to interrogate him. Seems like they might have things covered and under control, though if the man tried anything, he always have his hippogriff close-by at a moment's notice.
Leaving them aside for the moment, he shift his focus to Caboose and Vambre. "Yep, sounds like a plan! And that really does sound useful! Say, you wouldn't mind parting one of them with me, right?"
Oh yeah, he almost forgotten about Yuna, who was busy stuffing herself with Vambre's waffles. It definitely looked like she is having a blast, yep.
"So, hey, mind if we tag along with you while looking to help? I could use something to do than stay here in the library all day."

"I'll be more useful in there than I will be out here while begging for rides just to cross a hallway," Arcade reasoned with some self-loathing clear in his voice. While he was speaking he placed the bag of supplies next to Sans's foot and found the best angle from which to see the door, then started staring.

Wang grinned widely, highly amused that he'd gotten one of the reactions he had been aiming for. He had to find some way to entertain himself while he waited around doing jack all. He could practically imagine the girl's flustered expression, whoever she was. ""Whoa-ho, easy there Miss. Maybe there is a story there, who knows. But it wouldn't be that fun if I just gave it to you, right?" It was impossible to tell if the man was being sincere or not, his voice still faintly amused but neutral. "And besides, I like to think the things I do are pretty important."
"Of course you would." Hoji spoke up in an exasperated tone, loud enough to be heard on the radio. "Hey lady, here's a story. This guy has an actual secret cave base. Full of comics and games."
The demon cackled as his companion let out an indignant shout. "Hey, the Wang Cave is awesome and has way more than just that in it!"

Ben raised an eyebrow. "Rex? Why do you wanna know where that dweebazoid is? Whatever. He's here at the hospital. But it's not a good idea to come help, Arcade and Cole," Ben insisted, moving in between Cole/Arcade and the doorway, putting one hand on his hip. He then glanced back at the phone. "He and a bunch of others are trapped in some mind thing. If anyone gets involved they're gonna get trapped too. Dave and I are here trying to make sure they're safe," he added.
He then pulled the phone off his ear for a moment.
"I'm not letting you guys get in danger too," Ben insisted to Cole and Arcade, still trying to block entry.
