Stadium-Consequences

Upon hearing that his wish was granted, Lucas looked about as happy as a kid could be. When he heard the rest of what Ms. Tairee had to say, though, his expression turned a bit more contemplative. The war never happened now? Lucas didn't know how long ago it was, but changing something like that was sure to make waves. Well, the world was supposed to be peaceful and make Sans happy, so hopefully it wouldn't be an insurmountable issue.

Since Ms. Tairee offered, Lucas replied "If you wouldn't mind... please bring him here." He figured the best way to tell if this result was acceptable was asking the skeleton.

The moment was bittersweet for Lucas, though. While he was truly happy, he did miss both Claus and Hinawa dearly. What could he tell everyone back home? That he gave up this chance for someone he'd never see again? He wasn't sure how Flint would react to that. Maybe he shouldn't mention it at all? It was something he'd have to figure out sooner or later.

He said to Caro "I... I actually did it. It's been three years since mom died... four days since Claus died... I miss them so much... It hurt so much to not wish for them to come back. But I know they're proud of me right now. And if they're proud, then I made the right choice."

Eve blinked as the Omnitrix light faded and revealed...an elf. A medeviel elf. One she would read about. No spiders to be seen. Blinking a couple of times, she giggled at Ben's despair, before moving to reassure him.

"You never know what you might be able to use that form for."

Ben sighed when Eve moved to reassure him. "Yeah, I guess. But I was looking forward to having all those cool spider powers, and now I'm just an elf. It's a real bummer, y'know? Like, imagine what I could've been able to do: climb on walls, shoot silk, move real fast like Bergree did.... But nope, the watch decided to turn me into a pointy-eared skinny dude." He continued to look around for a place to stay, noticing something odd. "Hey, did someone turn the lights on? It's pretty bright now and I remember it being so dark," he admitted, scratching his head.

Eve looked around. The amount of light hadn't changed at all, which gave her an idea. She shook her head at Ben, before looking around at the buildings near her.

"That form must have night vision. How useful."

....

"Be careful of bright flashes of light though. They may blind you."

Bucket O' Sushi ~ Welp

Whatever their own thoughts were on the wish the boy made, Fate and Arf were a little more concerned with how Silanea reacted. Arf shot out her arm to keep Silanea's food from falling off the table, but beyond that all they did was simply watch as the snake woman made her way out of the restaurant. It was very clear that Fate in particular had absolutely no idea how to respond to this.

"...I don't think there's anything we can really do for her now," Fate eventually said after a few moments of silence. Then she let out a small sigh.

Arf got up and looked out the window at the screen herself. Her eyes narrowed as they settled on Caro.

"First you, then her. I wonder how many other people Caro's hurt by now?"

Fate gave Arf a disapproving glance. "Isn't blaming Caro for this kind of a stretch? I know you don't like her, but I doubt she's as horrible as you're making her out to be, and this seems more like a coincidence than anything."

"Maybe you're right." Then Arf sighed. "I wonder what makes Sans so special that someone's willing to throw away a wish for him?"

At that, she went back to the table and sat down, then polished off the last bits of her meal. "Might as well finish up and look for someplace to spend the night."

Fate glanced at her own food, then at Silanea's. "What about hers?"

"I don't think she's coming back. And who knows when we're going to meet her again? Maybe it's not a good idea to waste food, but there's a lot here. What's wasting a little bit of it going to do?"

Fate was silent for another couple moments after that, then went back to eating herself. It was obvious the whole affair had affected her appetite for the worse, however.

Lo Wang glanced at Hoji to see if any of that was familiar, to which the demon just shrugged. The man sighed, prompting the Ancient to throw his hands up. "Over two hundred years, Wang. How the hell am I supposed to know if they're from the Shadow Realm? They're not one of my brothers, if that's what you're asking. Not even Gozu would call himself that, and he's an idiot. That and he doesn't look like a bird.

"Right." Wang grunted turning back to the Annas. "And I'm guessing you don't know who they were, either? Doesn't matter. Anyway, so what are you two going to do now that your boytoy is locked up?"

Hospital

"Why do you keep thinking I want you to leave? I never said anything like that; jeez kid just calm down" Dave said, a little exasperated. "Just don't stab anybody in here and stay out of the pharmacy, and you can live in here for all I care" the doctor added, and made his way down the hall.

"Now come on, let's get you in bed" Dave mentioned, heading for one of the empty patient rooms.

Leaving the library

Louie didn't say anything in response to Sora, but did look at him with a raised eyebrow and sort of half frown before turning away with a somewhat indignant expression, folding his arms.

As the group left, Thomas noticed them going and quickly jogged along to catch up. "So, did you guys catch the announcement? That kid used the wish to save Sans' world" Thomas mentioned to them.

"Yeah, that's cool; nice that he used it for a good thing" Louie said, though after a moment of thought muttered, "Sans is still kind of a jerk though."

Thomas frowned slightly. "Well I don't disagree with you there, Louie. You weren't there to hear him talking on his phone about Ben" Thomas said, shaking his head and looking angry at the memory. "But still, that doesn't mean his world deserves to be doomed... Probably. That wish just saved possibly countless lives" the young wizard added.

"Yeah..." Louie stated simply, having nothing else to currently say about it.

The two didn't have any comment on the metals discussion, but after Ben transformed into the drow, both Thomas and Louie each raised an eyebrow. "Isn't your omnitrix supposed to turn you into the same thing he was? Why are you different?" Thomas asked.

Library

"Yeah, there's usually tons of rules" the first Fanboy answered Curly with a simple nod. "Although, when it comes to just the stuff that's relevant to what we're looking for, we're really only looking for a small portion of each of these books" he pointed out, holding up the setting book, "we only need the whole things if we were planning on playing the game."

"I think that's all we'll need" the second Fanboy said, stowing away the monster manual and heading to one of the doors with the other Fanboy. He paused at the doorway, where he could call out to both Curly inside and the two skeletal figures outside, "we're heading back to the cinema; any of you want to tag along?"

With nobody asking her for anything else, at least for the moment, Miss Tairee tapped on the keyboard, and with a blur another of her appeared back at the spot where Tommy and Seirwuosuhr and the little toy train setup still were. "I'm so sorry for all the delays children" this Miss Tairee, henceforth as you might've guessed Miss Tairee 2, said sincerely to the children and picked up the Thomas the Tank Engine book again. "Shall I continue where we left off?" she asked them.

The Miss Tairee at the desks, Miss Tairee 1, stood up from the desks and moved out one of the doorways, walking over to Sans and Lewis. "Sans, the winner of the competition is requesting you at the stadium" Miss Tairee 1 said to Sans simply and neutrally.

Meanwhile, the Annas looked at each other briefly, then back at Lo Wang. "We know it was some of the hero people. Pretty sure the kid with the transforming watch was there, and the girl with the dragon pet, and Rex too, I think" Anna-Maria answered with a slight shrug. "What we're gonna do now is what we were just disagreeing about. I think we should just sit tight, but Rose seems to think that we should be throwing ourselves in jail and undoing everything we were just working for" she continued.

"You know I don't mean it like that!" Anna-Rose protested. "I thought what were were working for was finding somebody willing to protect us. Staying with him is the safest thing for us, and maybe the militia will be easy on us if we're turning ourselves in" she explained back to Maria, then added as she folded her arms, "it's not like they're gonna just forget about us anyway..."

Stadium / news channel

Plague Knight smacked into the shield still around the inner field, getting a few winces from the people sitting nearby. "Dude, are you okay?" Calvin of the Fanboys asked him.

"Alright, I'm checking if Sans is alright coming here. Hold on" Miss Tairee told Lucas, then started typing on her holographic screen.

Since she had turned off the microphone, the announcers and crowd had been left with no audio for about a minute now. "... So is that it?" Jeff's voice asked after the two announcers turned their microphones back on. "I was expecting like, a speech or something" his voice added simply.

"They are a little on the spot at the moment Jeff, and it looks like maybe they're still getting ready or something" Adam's voice pointed out. "... Hey I know, now would be a great time for a segway; how about those not-sponsor guys you were talking with earlier?" his voice then suggested.

"Huh?... Oh, right!" Jeff's voice said, taking a moment to remember. "So hey those of you out there in the city; wouldn't you like some place you could stay while you're stuck here? Some place where you can rest easy knowing people are protecting it? I mean, hats off to the militia and heroes for doing what they can to keep the city safe, but they can't exactly be everywhere, and so far our only options for being safe while sleeping is to do it ourselves. Well now there's a group looking to change that; they're calling themselves 'Home Sweet Home', and they're staying in a big apartment building which they wrote that out above the front entrance; now they're inviting anyone in the city to come and stay with them. Now of course, it ain't free, but since money doesn't mean anything here, what they told me is that all you've gotta do is help out in some way every night that you want to stay there; stuff like, helping to clean, cook, do dishes, laundry, bring any groceries they need, or if you're feeling bold enough, join their defense team" his voice then explained at length.

"Interesting. And just how exactly are they offering to 'sponsor' us, Jeff?" Adam's voice asked curiously.

"Well, they offered to let us take our setup there and broadcast from their top floor. And that way stuff like us getting chainsawed the other night shouldn't happen anymore, since we'd be in a place with round the clock guards" Jeff's voice answered.

Outside the Library - time to collect the prize, kinda

Sans didn't react much to Lewis putting a hand on his shoulder, he still seemed a little unsure about what to think of what was going to happen, though Lewis' words did bring him some small amount of comfort to him. Miss Tairee suddenly came out and told him that Lucas wanted him to go to the stadium, to which he simply shrugged.

"sure, why not. you can bring me there? otherwise i'm gonna be leaving people hanging for a while."

Ben shrugged at Eve in her observation of Ben possibly having night vision. "I guess I could have night vision, I'm not sure. But what would I even call an alien like this? What do I look like? Anyone have a mirror here?" he asked. At that moment, Thomas and Louie caught up and explained about the wish that Lucas had asked for. He furrowed his brow.

"So, he wished to save Sans' world? That figures. Well, I'm glad for him and I'm glad his world is fixed. I still don't trust the Writer and I still think that wish is gonna backfire on him. The sooner we get out of here and start bringing his to the Writer, the better." Then, Thomas and Louie asked why he didn't turn into the half-spider form. Ben shrugged. "Search me. I thought I'd get that form too. No idea why it didn't work out like that. I'm not entirely sure how this watch works, so maybe there's a weird quirk I don't get about it," he replied. "Anyway, let's try and find a place, shall we?" he asked.

Prison — Worth a shot

Wells proposed his theory of the writing choosing Rex as the guy to blame for all the future disasters by using his less than stellar track record with the different groups of the city against him.

"Well, in my defense, Silanea isn't the best leader around here. Or even a good one. At least you actually know how to run an organization. She almost doomed her group to deal with Marcus to keep her pride and I still haven't heard her say 'thanks' once"

At least this revelation meant things weren't as bad as they initially appeared.

"...so you are going to let me go now?"

"Of course I can" Miss Tairee 1 said simply, then suddenly Sans blurred and vanished. Miss Tairee then looked at Lewis, and gave him a simple nod and comment of, "sir" before turning around and walking back into the library.

Stadium

Sans suddenly appeared in a blur next to Lucas and Caro, and the Miss Tairee there dismissed her holographic screen with a flick of her wrist.

"Speech! Speech!" someone in the Fanboys shouted out at them from the stands, as the crowd got a bit louder. Miss Tairee glanced at the three, then held out her microphone.

"On/off switch is right there" Miss Tairee told them simply, motioning to a little switch on the side.

Streets

"Maybe we should ask him, next time we see him" Thomas suggested simply.

"What kind of place are we looking for?" Louie asked, glancing around.

Prison

"Believe me, I think the non-humans should disband for various reasons, but at least Silanea has been trying to keep the city safe. Besides, trying to force them to disband now would just cause big problems" Wells pointed out.

Then Wells shook his head and sighed. "Unfortunately, no, Rex, we won't be letting you go now. Like I said, this gambit of Miss Tairee's boss worked, and I don't think everyone is going to easily believe it even if we explained it to them. It would be awfully 'convenient' for there to suddenly be a reason you should be let off the hook so quickly" Wells explained to Rex. "Keeping you here for now is still the best option I see available to us. I know it's not what you want Rex, but I'm asking you, for the sake of everyone in the city, just cooperate with us for now" the soldier said, sounding sincerely a bit sympathetic.

He then moved forward and unlocked the cuffs from Rex's wrists and put them back away on his belt. "I promise that tomorrow I'll see what I can do. Just so long as you stay put tonight" Wells offered to Rex, then motioned one arm towards the area with the actual prison cells.

If Rex listened closely, he could hear the sound of some man faintly laughing to himself, letting out a single, weak giggle with long pauses between each of them, coming from somewhere among those prison cells.

Lewis - Library - Hey don't leave me hanging

I couldn't tell if Sans was reassured by that at all, but then the librarian came to ask if he wanted to be zapped there. Oh, she was asking. Sans consented to leave and promptly disappeared, reappearing on the monitor with Lucas and Caro. The librarian then turned to head back inside.

I put the locket back and followed her, briefly glancing around to note if anyone had moved. "If it's not too much to ask, could you drop me in the audience there while you're at it? Sans and I were having a conversation just now and I don't want to be left hanging though I understand it'd be rude to interrupt."

"Ah" Curly said simply in response to the second Fanboy before she considered the invitation for a moment, then shrugged "Sure, I don't think I need anything else from here so might as well".

With that and San's disappearance Curly put her books into her bag and was momentarily surprised that it still felt empty. She reached into the bag again and pulled out the Cave Story book, paused, then put it back in with a quiet "Well that's oddly convenient" before following the Fanboys out of the Library.

Eve didn't know enough about Sans to have any meaningful input into the conversation, so she stayed out of it. She was wondering how she could explain what Ben looked like to him before she had an idea.

"Ben, look at me."

Holding out her hand, it began to glow, and a smooth circle of steel grew until it was about 30 centimetres across. Ben would find it easy to see his reflection, though it would be a bit silvery. In response to Louie's question, Eve simply stated.

"A safe one."

"Okay. I mean - we-we're all on the same page here, right?" Morty nodded up at Lily as the giant blue grandma - which was a weird thought no matter how many times he saw her, but even so there was something to be said for having a sweet guardian raound who looked as though she could slug it out with the Incredible Hulk - backed off. That was when the new girl, whatever her name was, suddenly rounded on Morty, hurling accusations at him as though he was behind the madness.

"I don't have a speech impediment!" he snapped, a little too defensively. "It's just - I - I - I - I -" there was a pause as Morty caught his breath and tried to marshal his train of thought back together. "I got kidnapped by, by, like, s-some writer who wants to write a stupid book or something. Like you." He looked to Abel and Lily. "Right? B-back me up here."

Stadium - the not-shy one of the gang

Sans was suddenly in the stadium, being the one teleported instead of the one doing the teleporting was weird. The crowd was beginning to chant for a speech, which prompted Sans to look at Caro and Lucas for a moment. Both kids were kinda shy, public speaking was probably not their forte, especially not on this scale, so that fell onto him. He didn't mind though, he did want to say a few things and it was a good opportunity. He took the microphone and turned it on.

"'sup city people, i'm sans, sans the skeleton. back home i used to be a comedian, but right now i'm not gonna be doing a stand-up. so i hope you like cheese, because this is gonna take a while."

He then did a small pause, taking a deep breath and using this brief moment to organize his thoughts.

"so... some of you might already know me. some might already be familiar with me and the world i come from - i'm talking about ya fanboys - some might know me for some of the stuff i've done in my stay here, such as rescuing people from the creatures in the ninth day, or the fact that i was the one who made the plan to stop the attack on the grocery store two days ago and got the bomb out of the place. or some of you might just know me as 'that one guy in the nha who hangs out with humans all the time', there's a lot of options here."

He gave a shrug before resuming.

"either way, until a few minutes ago i was the only survivor of my world being literally erased from existance, all because i was brought here moments before i was gonna be killed. from the start i knew i wouldn't have a future once i left this city, but... well, what do i know, right? today there were four people who despite me already having long accepted that i was going to die and didn't ask for their help, in fact, for some of them i even tried to dissuade them from doing it, still decided to help me for some reason or another."

He then paused for a moment, glancing over the audience.

"first up, rex. i know you people are very upset with him, some of you might have been like me and don't have anybody to contact back home, making this whole longer challenge thing just a big slap to the face. some of you might just not want to deal with the danger. i can understand that, but tibia honest, i can't hold it against the guy when he was ready to use the wish on me despite his own world having some serious problems that needed to be fixed too. so yeah no bones to pick with the kid, he's already in jail anyway. thanks rex, i'm gonna make sure to use this other gift you've given me, there's some people back home that i really need to talk to."

Sans was sounding genuinely grateful, his tone of voice remained casual sounding but it was clear that he was taking the whole thing seriously.

"next up, lewis. i didn't leave a very good first impression on the dude, i thought for sure he hated me too and i can't really blame him if he did. i thought there wasn't a ghost of a chance of him actually deciding to help me, but he was actually the first to offer once he found what happened, crazy, huh?" He chuckled. "i already thanked him personally for the help, but it doesn't hurt to do it again. thanks dude, hope you manage to see that person you really like again, you gave up on that and maybe even being brought back to life for my sake, so that's the least i can say."

He then turned around to look at Lucas and Caro, though for now he focused on the former.

"now for the big two. lucas, we barely know each other, we barely talked to each other. i really don't know anything about you outside of the little i overheard in the library before the finals started. despite that, you still decided to use your wish, that i know could've been used to bring back people you've lost, to instead bring back everyone that i lost. there's... really nothing else to say here, literally an entire world owes it's life to you, kid, i don't think a 'thank you' can really express how grateful i am to you so... if you ever need some help with anything while we're still in this place, just ask, it's honestly the bare minimum i can do."

Finally, he looked at Caro, looking happier than ever before and then taking another deep breath.

"caro, you've stuck with me since we both got here. i met you by scaring the heck out of you and somehow things ended up like this. you already tried saving my world back at that beach day, you basically started plotting how to do it the same day you learned about it and you even roped zelda into it too. even after it failed and left you a traumatized mess because of me, even after you cried who knows how many times because of me and even when i kinda tried to push you away because i thought you would be better off that way, you never really gave up on me. thank you caro, for not giving up hope even after i had long tossed it away, thank you for believing that a bonehead like me was worth saving and... thank you for being the best little sister i could've asked for."

Sans then began rubbing his eyes a little as he could just feel the tears trying to come out, but he kept them in.

"i honestly have no clue what's waiting for me when i go home but... at least now i have something to look forward to. it's not going to be the same as it was before everything went wrong, but who knows, it might be better. i honestly don't feel like i deserve any of this because i didn't do anything to earn it but... well, i guess you four thought different." He paused for a moment. "now c'mere you two, gimme a hug, i think we all could use it."

He then spread out his arms, waiting for them with his typical big grin on his face.

Prison — Who do we have here?

Wells agreed with the Non-Human Alliance being an unpredictable factor in the city but going out of his way to actively disband them didn't seem like a wise plan to him.

"I feel like they are going to collapse under their own weight eventually"

Unfortunately, the lieutenant wasn't going to let Rex go even if his theory was right. They needed to wait for things to cool down and that meant Rex still had to stay in prison. Well, nothing had changed.

"Ok, just try to calm down the rioters. I swear I won't leave for now"

Rex was prompted by the militia to the actual cells, when he heard someone giggling in the distance.

"Looks like I missed a joke. What's so funny, pal?" he said, trying to look for the source of the laugh.

Sora didn't talk for several minutes because of the fact that Ben had a Anti-Form too. He rubbed his eyes and yes. Ben was still a tall, dark skinned, red eyed thing......wait? Red eyed? That can't be right.......unless this was a transformation. Huh.

Taking a closer look at this new form, it kind of looked like something that would come from Halloween town. That was pretttttttty cool in Sora's book. Sora's wandering mind suddenly went back into his head.....and the resulting rush of excited talking began, "Wow, you can see in the dark now!? I could really use something like that back home! I always seem to get stuck in really, really dark places after all."

And then Eve's hand started glowing and a makeshift mirror came out of it. Was all his new friends linked to the Light somehow? First the eye vision and then the glowing hands. Sora then told Eve and then Ben, "And you can do.......that! Both of you are pretty cool."

Sora then ran ahead of the four others, stopped a bit ahead, and said, "Now, come on! Eve, stop swooning over Ben's new form because we have to find a resting place soon."

Eve|Streets|I'm So Glad Lily Isn't Here

Ben decided to call his new form Red Eyes. Well she understood the reasoning. It just seemed a little...obvious. Not that that was necessarily a bad thing. She just doubted it was his best. Then he explained why they were looking for a place to Louie. Surely Louie would have guessed, if he had been watching what happened in the Library. Whatever.

Eve smiled at Sora when he complimented her powers. For something came with a whole lot of baggage, sometimes she wondered how she would survive without them.

"Thanks."

And then Sora made his next comment. Instead of reacting with embarrassment, as he was probably expecting, a blank look came onto her face.

"I haven't fainted."

Stadium - Give credit where credit is due

It was clear that although Lucas appeared to be really happy that this had all worked out like they had hoped, it was just as much apparent that he was still struggling with what he had given up for this, with the now truly permanent loss of his loved ones ...

Approaching closer, Caro laid a hand on his shoulder, once again hoping to lend comfort, while speaking softly, "I can't even begin to imagine how hard it must have been to make such a choice ... I wouldn't have to have made anywhere near such a sacrifice if I had been the one who got to make this wish ... So wherever those you have lost may be, I'm sure that they would be indeed really, really proud of this moment ..."

Miss Tairee then brought Sans himself over and he proceeded to give an amazing speech on the whole matter. It was of course sprinkled with quite a bit of puns, at least one of which she didn't quite get, but most of the way, she just couldn't help outright laughing out loud each time, such were the joy and warmth that it was all filling her up.

As he went on about each of them who had fought for the chance of this very moment, she hoped that those who weren't there at the moment would be reached by such messages wherever they might be across the city. Maybe the part about Rex would even help to calm things regarding that challenge ...

As he went on about Lewis, she couldn't help also thinking about Cole, of how without the latter blurting out about Sans' world to the former, the matter wouldn't have been able to reach Lucas either and thus there might have been much less of a chance of this all coming true. She hoped that he was listening to this too and made the connection, because she was sure that realizing that he had, however indirectly and inadvertedly, contribute towards something as huge this, that it would make him truly happy as well ...

As he reached the part about her, she started welling up with tears of sheer joy. This time, she didn't even flinch at the very public mention of her previous attempt. In some way, that probably too had helped to lead them to this moment, it was all behind them and she could no longer regret it. As he spoke of Zelda, her thoughts went out to her, dearly hoping that this all would reach her as well ...

So, as he then called her and Lucas over for a hug, it was of course without any hesitation that she ran over to him and went right for his embrace.

"It was all worth it, it really was ... Despite all the odds against us ... We managed it, we all, together, really did it ... It is still rather unbelievable ... I'm just so happy right now ..." she spoke as a few tears streamed down, yet with a warm grin matching his also in display.

She was almost certain that he wouldn't have forgotten about it, that maybe there was even more to this speech coming afterwards, but she guessed that it couldn't hurt to make mention of it herself either. And so, she then added, "You know ... There is someone else who, though he may not have directly fough for it this time, still undeniably helped lead us here ... Who although you may not have been pleased with for revealing the truth about your world at the time, without that, others wouldn't have been able to be lead towards this very moment ... Someone who, with as much as he has struggled with not being able to help people, would be rather overjoyed to know that he did towards all this ..."

The streets

Red Eyes blinked a little at Sora, confused, then continued to search. Soon, he stumbled upon what looked like an unassuming cottage, with stone brick walls and an old-fashioned exterior. He glanced at the other City Knights, smirking.

"Well, I think we've found a place to stay for the night. Let's get things situated," he told them, walking up to the door and knocking on it to see if anyone was home. Upon not receiving a reply, he tried the door. Unlocked. It looked like either this house was vacant or the person living here didn't have much security in mind. He glanced around inside at the entrance hall. There was a small living quarters with a couple of chairs and a small couch nearby an open fireplace, with some rooms leading to presumably a kitchen and some bedrooms.

"What do you guys think of this place?" Red Eyes asked the group.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
