Lewis - Stadium - Gotta Add 'Em All or something

"Sure, why not," I replied to Caro offering her own number, pulling out of the radio app to pull up my as-of-yet empty contact list.

Thinking about it, maybe I should have added the others back at the library when I gave them their phones. Hmm...

The Library — Better late than never

Surprisingly, ignoring Jackson ended up being the best course of action because his insults made Tairee stop him from was esentially trying to start a fight. Still, that comment about being the dumbest person on the city deserved a follow-up.

"Don't sell yourself short, Jackson"

As for Tairee (one of them, anyway) and both Annas, they were busy talking about tacos, the ingredients they wanted to put in them and condoms "Hey, Sans. I..." You know, the usual girl-talk.

Sans would hear nothing for a few seconds before Rex realized he was still in the middle of a call.

"Uh, what were we talking about? Yeah, sorry... We might have a small issue with your wish. There is this wolf-girl, Arf, that got to first place and I need Lewis to make sure she doesn't win"

"He's going to the stadium, I need you to go there with Caro, she's with you, right? I have a plan"

Plague Knight walked back over to the Caro and the others, just in time to watch as Caro finished her conversation with Fate. The dog girl, Arf, then issued a death threat upon her.

"What is her problem?" he asked incredulously. He noticed Sans raising a hand towards her, and Caro stopping him. The topic of phones came up. Need to remember to get one, as well as a radio.... he thought bitterly. Then to Caro: "What exactly are these Lost Logia? I asked the dog girl previously, but she rebuffed me."

Stadium -> Library ~ New Plans

Back to the library it is, I suppose? Arf asked as she quickly caught back up to Fate, running along the roofs beside her.

Unless you can think of anywhere else we should go to first, Fate replied.

Come to think of it, have you eaten anything at all since we've gotten here? You have to be getting hungry by now. Arf frowned. Actually, I think that very well had been why you lost. You've been running on an empty stomach all day!

Fate stopped for a moment, although it was just as much because the easily identifiable library was just ahead of them as it was because of anything Arf just said.

Arf, please stop dwelling on it. It doesn't matter any more. Then she looked at the library. Also, the library's right there. How about we ask if we can take the book with us, and then we can go find somewhere to eat?

Arf sighed. Fair enough, I suppose.

The two of them then touched down in front of the library. Fate dispelled her barrier jacket, returning to her usual civilian clothing, before leading the way inside.

The first thing they noticed upon entering was that there were three librarians now, or perhaps three of the same one as they all looked identical to Miss Tairee. The second thing they noticed was that all of them seemed to be already occupied.

Was it this crowded in here when we left?

We haven't been here since this morning. Doesn't surprise me. Fate then found herself a couch to sit down while she waited. At any rate, it looks like we're going to be waiting a little while.

Arf sighed again, before taking up a seat next to her master.

Stadium - not up to date

Looking at Caro as she pleaded him not to do anything to Arf, Sans stared at her for a few seconds before sighing and nodding at her. Lowering his other hand, he focused on the conversation with Rex. Fortunately what he was saying was so late to the point of being funny.

"rex, you might want to look at the scoreboard," he said, letting out a few chuckles, "we're also already at the stadium, lewis just got here too, i can give him the phone if you wanna talk to him."

Fortunately, that had worked. She let out a sigh of relief. One more crisis averted. She would probably have to explain more of the matter later. She should leave him to his call for now, although it seemed that might get transfered to Lewis soon.

Speaking of which, said ghostly skeleton indeed wanted her number, so she fished her phone out and put the screen displaying its own number on and then held it up towards Lewis.

"Here you go," Caro then said. Then since Plague Knight asked once again about the Lost Logia, reminding her of Lewis' own question on the matter, she then added for both of their befenits, "Oh right, that ... Well ... Lost Logia are powerful magical artifacts from an old, collapsed civilization. They tend to be very dangerous, which is why they are tightly controlled by the law- keeping organization I serve back home."

The Library — Premature celebration

Sans simply told Rex that he should check the scoreboard again and he was already on the stadium with Lewis.

"Wait, you mean..." answered Rex, just in time to see Arf and Fate entering the library. They certainly didn't look like a pair of winners and a quick peek through one of the doors revealed that Caro was winning and that Ben hadn't moved from second place. Good news for once.

"Oh, that's great! With her winning and with Ben on second place it's practically guaranteed that you are getting your world back"

Stadium - not too fast

As he listened to what Rex had to say, Sans made sure to pay attention to what the others were talking about, including what Caro was saying about the Lost Logia things. Then Rex talked about Ben...

"about that..." Sans said, rolling his eyes, "i ran into ben in the cinema a while back and he basically threw a fit at me and i'm preeeetty sure he hates me now. so... if you wanna get that wish you might have to knock him out of the game, i don't really feel like letting him know about my home, if nothing else it's just going to get him yelling at me more."

Eve|Library|Required Reading

Eve looked up from the book (40/100) to see Ben talk to Miss Tairee. And disappear. What was that about, she wondered. Oh well. If it involved her, she'd find out.

There were three Miss Tairees. How strange. Clearly the librarian could do everything. Eve couldn't imagine the headache she must be having, splitting herself three ways. Four, now that she thought about it. One was with Ben.

Something felt...weird. Almost painful, but not quite. Oh. She was hungry. What had she eaten recently? Popcorn, nothing, nothing, ice cream. She should be hungrier than she was. Maybe because she died yesterday? Probably.

Leaving the book where it was, she moved to the desk, nearby to Rex and the Annas. She waited for the next free Librarian quietly.

Why hadn't the game ended by now?! Each shot was faster, no respite, one swing almost immediately after the last, tiring. When rationing out his energy for PSI Healing, Lucas didn't account for the fact that the game would tire him out quicker as the balls got faster. Pitch after pitch after pitch after pitch after pitch... the time between heals became smaller and smaller out of necessity. It didn't take long until he had used up every last bit of energy he had.

It was down to who could keep their cool longer. There were no mistakes allowed, no room for the tiniest error. Lucas kept on hitting them, but his skill was starting to rely more and more on luck. He was getting tired.

Way too fast. The pitching machines... this shot was way too fast. He heard the sound of it firing and the ball was already halfway to him and there was no time for him to make a judgement and he lashed out with the bat as hard as he could. As the bat was swung, Lucas had no idea if he would hit it. But then... SMASH!!! The crack of bat on ball sounded loud. He had hit it back!

This was the moment where the victor would be decided. Lucas was certain he wouldn't be able to hit the next pitch. In other words, if Sylvia had hit that last shot then Lucas would lose or draw next pitch. But if Sylvia had missed, it was his win. He looked at his opponent to see which outcome he had gotten.

Lewis - Stadium - Further Contacts

I copied down the number in the appropriate field and saved it in Caro’s name, then sent her a simple Hey to let her save my number in turn.

She then finally got around to talking about the so-called Lost Logia of her verse, now that Plague Knight came and pressed her about it himself. Yep. That sounded like a plot coupon alright.

I nodded. "Really? What do they do, exactly?

"And while we're here, do you know the numbers of anyone else I may want to keep in touch with?"

The Library — What if

So, things weren't as simple as they sounded. Apparently, Ben had thrown a hissy fit and hated Sans. The skeleton told Rex that he needed to beat him to make sure Sans' wish would come true. That would make sense if he were Jackson or Rick but they could convince Ben.

"No offense but I think this would be a lot easier if you told Ben about your universe. I mean, acting like a hero and all he would jump at the chance of helping an entire world"

"Ah, of course," Plague Knights said. Ancient artifacts from old, long forgotten civilizations were quite common in his world. There were a set of expansive ruins right in Pridemoor Valley in fact, Mole Knight continuing to lay claim to it even after the Enchantress was defeated. "Just how dangerous are these relics?" he asked.

He then overheard Sans' conversation over the radio with Rex. Was the skeleton the one whom Caro already had an obligation to? That would complicate things a little.....

Library - Not as advertised

"Thanks Miss Tairee" Curly said as the Librarian set to work, and as soon as the books started to arrive she went to look at them, just paused slightly on seeing the cover of the first book, then would have blanched at the sight of the module cover if her false skin had included that level of emotional response. But the rest of her face was perfectly capable of emoting her poor reaction to seeing another Silanea fighting in a burning village.

"No way" Curly muttered and opened the The Scourging of Vusluora immediately to see just what kind of book that could possibly be before skimming through to see if the maps she'd requested were really contained in it. Though chances were she'd end up reading at least bits of the plotlines in the process, especially if Silanea's name popped up.

"I've never had any real luck with romance, Ben. The last time I even so much as went on a date that wasn't set up with reality warping powers was so long ago, and it didn't really end well either" Miss Tairee 4 said to Ben, giving a slightly embarrassed grimace as she remembered it. She then took a deep breath and let it out slowly, her slightly somber look returning as she looked to Ben.

"I'm sad because I'm sorry that you have to ask me about this and not, say, your mother" Miss Tairee 4 explained simply to Ben, then averted her gaze and added, "and, also... This is going to be over in fifteen days, Ben... You'll probably never see Eve again after that."

Inside the library

"Sweet, thanks a bunch!" Anna-Maria said after she, Anna-Rose, and Miss Tairee 1 got finished with their huddle. She grabbed the platter and moved with Anna-Rose away from the central desks, as Anna-Rose had a newly acquired small bottle of pills in hand.

As the two passed by Rex, Anna-Rose held up the bottle and shook it slightly. "Hey Rexy..." Anna-Rose cooed at him with a sultry expression and a wink, then pocketed the bottle and sat down with Anna-Maria at a nearby table to begin eating.

Now that she was free, Miss Tairee 1 got a chance to look around and see how many people were waiting. "Oh dear" Miss Tairee 1 muttered to herself, then let out a sigh of defeat and started typing on her computer. "Sir, I can help you next" she added towards Garrett as she typed.

And like clockwork, another Miss Tairee appeared, this time nearby Fate and Arf. "... Alright, I think five is my limit unless I expand my mental abilities some more" Miss Tairee 5 muttered to herself as she briefly held her forehead akin to someone having a headache. Then she turned to the two. "My apologies; is there something I can help you with?" she asked them.

Meanwhile, Curly would find that the book didn't exactly have a standard narrative structure, since the book itself wasn't meant to tell a story; the book was instructions for someone to run a campaign in a role playing game. So it was more like reading a book that was instructions for someone to tell a certain story to other people, and was filled with stats and references to rules and dice rolls and other things that weren't really relevant to what Curly was after.

However, with a quick skim through she found early in the book was a map of the titular country, Vusluora, with not just marked cities, but also specifically marked locations such as, 'lamia village', 'kobold encampment', 'goblin dungeon', and others. Getting a gist of the story still wasn't easy, but what Curly could find indicated that the king of Vusluora had mandated that the country be purged of all 'evil' races, and the 'players' of the role playing game were meant to be a party of heroic humans leading these efforts.

As for Silanea, Curly didn't just find her name- she found an entire page dedicated to her 'sheet', with an unmistakable picture of Silanea on the opposite page; and that was even considering the artistic style the book was in and the fact that she looked younger. In the picture she seemed to be standing next to a pond in a forest and looking towards the viewer with a curious, gentle expression, her head slightly tilted. The sheet detailed her 'stats' including her known spells, ethereal blade and ethereal shield; beneath the stats was a short blurb about her: Silanea Asharsha, daughter of Akyaliha Asharsha, lamia huntress and priestess in training. Silanea's characterization is cautious but also curious, having a slight attraction towards humans. She would rather avoid confrontation with the party; she may be found in the woods outside of the lamia village with a 10+ tracking roll, though will be aware of any party members moving through the area unless they pass a 15+ move silent roll. Silanea will attempt to hide or alternatively run away unless approached calmly, without visible weapons out. Silanea will reveal the location of the lamia village if first pacified and then passing a 15+ interrogation roll; alternatively, a Male character may convince her to lead him to the village if he is alone, (or the other party members pass the 15+ move silent roll) and passes a 10+ charm roll.

Below that were shorter GM notes giving brief suggestions on how to better play her and other things to note, such as that she could fall in love with one of the Male characters based on their charisma stat and their charm roll. It also mentioned that if Silanea is still alive during the raid of the lamia village, that she would probably get away unless the party could pass a '20+ tracking roll', and also that since the ethereal shield spell is tied to mental balance, she loses the ability to use it if her mother is killed.

As Curly was reading all this information, the two Fanboys approached Miss Tairee 2 since she seemed to be free now, and Curly could overhear them. "Hey, could we get some info on the non-humans' leader, Silanea?" the second Fanboy asked the librarian.

One of Miss Tairee 2's eyebrows twitched up just a little, then she tapped only a couple keys on the holographic screen and simply said, "certainly."

Once again, two more copies of the same books made the same trip down from the fourth floor. "Nice, thanks a bunch" the first Fanboy said, his tone impressed as the books flew over.

"... Huh, so this is what she's from?" the second Fanboy thought out loud as he looked at the books and started to flip through the campaign module book.

With that seemingly taken care of for now, Miss Tairee 2 glanced around, then motioned at Eve. "I can help you here" Miss Tairee 2 said to her.

Stadium

As he was standing right nearby, Thomas was overhearing Sans' half of his phone conversation, and looked over with lowered eyebrows, his expression getting a bit angry. But he said nothing for now, and wrapped his cloak around himself before looking at Caro, his expression somewhat judging.

Eve jumped a little bit, watching with quiet amusement at the situation Rex had himself into. Then yet another Miss Tairee spawned. Five? Wow.

"Thank you. Just some food would be nice."

She didn't particularly care as to what kind of food it was, just that it was there and edible.

Fate and Arf each raised an eyebrow when a fourth Miss Tairee appeared by them. Going off her comment upon appearing, it didn't take them long to assume that this was just another power of the librarian's. Neither of them opted to question it.

"We've been told that it's possible to get books about our worlds here," Fate said, "I'd like to take a look at mine. Caro has told me there's some answers for me in there. If it is an issue, she has also given us permission to read it."

Ben frowned. "Oh," he muttered. He winced once Miss Tairee broke the news that... after the 15 days were up he would probably never see her again. His brow furrowed and he stood up, fists clenching. "No! I don't believe that! Grandpa has alien tech from the Plumbers, we'll find a way to see other universes, save people, and see our friends again! There's gotta be a way! I'm not gonna accept a no on that one! Now I know what I'm gonna wish for, and if your boss says no to this one it's gonna prove how evil he is! And even if he won't grant it, it'll happen and I'll make sure of it! I am gonna win this competition, just you wait and see!"

With that, Ben didn't even wait for Miss Tairee to teleport him back, he just looked for an exit from the roof to the fifth floor. When he didn't find one, he walked over to the edge of the roof, and began to fiddle with the watch, intending to go Stinkfly to fly off the roof and head down to the competition.

Abel - Streets - I guess???

Well, that was weird. The guy barely even said sorry and just left...well, whatever. He probably had somewhere to be. Now where was he?

Oh, yeah. What should he do now?

...Abel's shoulder still hurt. Maybe he should go check on that, like, five minutes ago. He started walking briskly down the sidewalk, avoiding eye contact with anybody he ran into and keeping an eye out for a hospital or something. Which he couldn't find at all. He could've sworn he had gone down this street before. It was like the city was always changing just to mess with him.note  He turned right instead of left this time, and came across a tiny arts and crafts store with brightly colored decorations on the front. He quickly glanced into the window befo—wait wait wait.

He did a double take, and he still couldn't comprehend what he saw. Right there, sitting in a little armrest that looked like it was about to break under the thing's weight, was some sort of giant, disgusting monster. Wearing a sunhat. And knitting. And it wasn't the kind of monster he knew; this one was like the kind you see in horror movies or video games. Abel was transfixed on the thing, so much so that he didn't even notice the kid sitting right next to her wearing mittens, which was an odd spectacle in of itself.

As she was getting ready to start flipping through the book again to see if there was any more information on this King of Vusluora, she heard Silanea's name mentioned again by humans she didn't recognize. Who also got the same module book.

She paused for a moment, then closed her copy, set it and the lore book on top of the book about her home and carried them closer to where the Fanboys were studying and dropped the stack on the flat surface just enough to make a noise to announce her presence before she asked levelly "So, what are you two up to?"

Both Lo Wang and Hoji took a moment to stare in surprise as the librarian duplicated herself before their eyes, going on like it was nothing. They exchanged looks, Wang asking a silent question that the demon just shrugged at. "Whatever she's doing, it's not using chi."

Then, Tairee's words brought the two back to the current situation as Wang scowled and looked between the two. "Like hell it isn't!" The man growled, jabbing his finger at the demon, "We had a deal!" His hand went to the hilt of his sword, before he realized that wouldn't work; And he was left just glaring at Hoji instead.

Said demon sighed, "Come on, Wang. The deal hasn't ended, it's just... put on hold for a short time." Then he turned to the librarian. "How about a Spectre, from the Shadow Realm?"

"Actually, most ancient spirits in Elrios, or at least the ones I read about when I was younger, are benevolent, and some people even worship them," I clarified, a bit pleased that I could teach Cole a thing or two about my world. "Eun was an exception. She did do some terrible things, which is why she's in that hairpin instead of running free. So... I see how she could've startled you."

'I am deeply offended by this,' Eun complained. 'I did literally nothing other than tell him I would heal his injuries.'

"Anyway," I continued, trying to ignore that fox spirit, "maybe it would've been better if we tried to explain what we were going to do before we started. So I guess it's also partly my fault."

'Ask him if he knew about your... past experiences when he said that horrible thing he said.'

'Eun, no! I don't want to upset him again!'

Sans sort of brushed off Rex's idea, arguing that Ben wasn't going to like Sans keeping something to himself. Besides, he didn't want to owe him anything. Yeah, that last part made sense.

"Fine, I'm not going to tell him about your world but I still think I can convince him. Talk to you later"

As he ended the call, Anna-Rose showed him a bottle of pills and proceeded to eat with her sister.

"Please just be vitamins"

Again, no time for that. There was a world at stake here and Rex was probably the only one capable of fixing it. At least that's what he liked to think. It helps with the pressure. Either way this call was literally a matter of life and death.

"Hey Ben, can you hear me?" Rex said, pressing on his communicator and keeping an eye on the Annas

There was a muffled scream and a shout as Morty came skidding down the streets, flat on his ass, towards Lily and Abel. There was a brief pause as the teen sat up, rubbed his head, and stuffed a length of copper wire into a knapsack he'd grabbed somewhere along the way.

"Aw jeez. Ow. I - I - ow." Morty stood up, made sure his pants had survived the journey in one piece, and absentmindedly patted down a small fire on his shirtsleeve, wincing as his hands made contact with the flame.
