After leaving the library

"In any case, I'm not about to take point," Garrett muttered as he moved to the back of the group.

Leaving Library

"Well, I do not think speaking is very hard. Most of the people I know can do that," Caboose replied to Bergree, not really grasping what he meant by the words "well spoken". Those who could not speak well tended to be babies or communicated through angry grunting. He didn't like those exceptions very much.

That didn't matter, though. He wasn't really that big of a threat, of that Caboose was certain. Someone like Carolina or Washington could be dangerous, but he wasn't very good at taking charge and fighting things. If he was smart or skilled like them, he probably wouldn't have needed help with that Jerkules yesterday! There was a reason he could win a one on one fight with the Fakeboose, once the big Freckles was dealt with.

He just was on a lower level than a lot of others in the city.

But at least being on that lower level gave the sim trooper a source of confidence. Being an underdog with no evident hope of winning was the normal situation for the teams he was on, even an idiot like him knew that much. "It is a pretty neat team, isn't it?" Caboose asked Rachel rhetorically, not really catching the exasperation in her description of the odd group. "Starting to feel like blue team away from blue team! Or... I guess red team for me now?" He trailed off for a moment, trying to figure out how to word things as a member of the red team. "Uh, well, it's neat."

"I guess I'll go in front. The armor isn't that good, but I think it can handle more than bare skin... except for Herc's skin, the fake Herc took a lot of hurt." He moved into position at the head, opposite of where Garret had placed himself. "So, uh, how do we find her?" Being a person who had trouble distinguishing fiction from reality, he was sure this very moment would be followed by a loud noise or light show in the distance that would give them a perfect indication of where to go. That was just how things had to work, he knew!

Leaving the front of the empty building

Calming down more now, Louie let out a sigh and grabbed two of his pokeballs. First he recalled Swishee, then he brought out Goldeneye. "Alright then, let's at least take the quickest way back" Louie said, placing a hand on Goldeneye. The pokemon went ahead and waited until Ben also touched it, then they blinked away.

Library, lobby

Once they blinked in near the center of the lobby, Louie looked up at the view of the upper floors. "So, any idea where we should start- huh?" Louie started, then was taken aback as he saw the real Miss Tairee still quickly scribbling away on notepad after notepad.

Miss Tairee took a quick glance at the two, her expression mixing between a flash of relief, exasperation, but mostly just that general sense of, 'what I'm doing right now is much more important' as she turned her gaze back to the paper, but she did speak up. "Great to see she hasn't gotten you two yet, but what are you doing here? Get back out there and help keep her busy!" Miss Tairee said, already going back to writing, "if she comes back here before I'm finished then it's all over."

As if on reflexive instinct, Louie already started to backpedal away in compliance, but he stopped after a few steps. "Uh, hold on, we could really use some tips on how to fight, uh, you? Her?" Louie asked.

"I'd say keep her at figurative arm's length, and watch out for big attacks. Attack back when you can though; it's a game to her right now, and if she gets tired of just chasing you around, then she probably won't hold back on using her power to the fullest to take you out" Miss Tairee explained, while still writing.

The procession leaving the library

Rachel looked a bit unsure at first about Garrett's decision, but then nodded after thinking for a couple moments. "Oh right, if you're sneaky, then I guess that's best for you" Rachel agreed, moving herself to behind Caboose so she could at least sort of use his armored form as cover. When he asked how to find the evil librarian, she glanced around, replying, "shift until we hear something going down and then-"

The icy-armored Blue suddenly came falling down at a diagonal past one of the rooftops, hitting the front wall of the building across the street and going crashing down to the street below. "Aw, man" Blue grumbled, quickly getting back up and then barely taking off again in time to avoid a large rocket blasting apart the concrete there.

"Or that happens, I guess" Rachel finished, as the evil Miss Tairee flew down into view from where Blue had fallen. She hovered in the air above the street, casually discarding a large, now-empty rocket launcher she'd been holding on her shoulder.

"Well now, more folks to have some fun with? Ain't that a treat" the evil Miss Tairee said, sounding in a good mood.

Library

"Uuuuuuuuugh." A hand pushed its way out of a pile of books like some kind of peculiar bibilophilic zombie, followed by an arm clad in a tattered yellow t-shirt.

"There." Rick massaged his temples and wiped some clotted blood off of his forehead as he pushed the charred remains of bookshelf off of the pair. "See what happens when you stick your *urp* when you stick your neck out for people, Morty? You and me. Nobody else. Evil Tairee can go-"

"Is-is there anyway we could, I dunno, trick her?" suggested Morty. "Y'know- force her into a situation where she'd have to surrender somehow?"

"Oh for god's sake."

The empty building

Ben put his hand on the Psychic-type Pokemon's head, then was soon teleported back to the library.

The library

The two arrived in the library and Ben was about to respond when he saw Miss Tairee diligently writing at her desk.

Ben was flabbergasted.

"Miss Tairee! I thought you were... I thought she... I saw you in that bubble of pain or something... I thought you were done for," Ben exclaimed, sounding simultaneously confused and relieved. "Well, whatever. You're the boss," he replied, nodding at her helpful advice.

"You heard her, Louie. Let's get out of here. I should've trusted you," he said, looking sheepish. "But how was I to know she was still alive? Last I saw her, the evil clone had her in some evil bubble that was trapping her and causing her tons of pain," he explained. Soon afterwards Ben began to exit the library.

Outside the library -> the streets

Ben stepped outside the Library, lifting off. He then turned to the Pokemon Trainer.

"Do you want me to carry you, or would you rather fly in Swishee's mouth? Either way we should get moving fast before that freak shows up," he pointed out.

Library, lobby

"I very nearly was, Ben, but we can talk later" Miss Tairee responded to Ben.

"Well... I didn't know either, when I said that" Louie admitted in regards to what Ben said. The trainer quickly recalled Goldeneye, then followed Ben outside.

As for Morty's question, Miss Tairee didn't look up. "Right now she's unkillable and can do whatever she wants; so no, I can't imagine a scenario in which she'd be forced into surrender..." Miss Tairee trailed off, her scribbling pausing, then she looked up at Rick and Morty with a bit of realization. "Wait, you. I read about you, mister Rick Sanchez; I know what your expertise is. I'm sure you wish to continue existing with free will, yes? Then you should help me; I want you to find or build a computer for me, as soon as possible. Doesn't really matter how good it is; just as long as it has a keyboard and a screen" the librarian told them, then went back to her scribbling on the notes.

Leaving the library

"If we're gonna actually help, I'll need to be able to get at these" Louie said, patting the pokeballs on his belt. Then he grabbed one and tossed it up, releasing Swishee again. "Couldn't agree with you more about hurrying up; let's go" the trainer added, quickly climbing into the pelipper's bill as she opened it up. The pokemon promptly flapped her wings to start taking up into the sky.

Leaving the library

Ben wasted no time. He lifted off into the air and began to follow Louie and Swishee.

"Maybe we can keep the evil clone from fighting if we can keep her stuck in some way. Freezing her, gumming her up, whatever, as long as she can't use those computer hands of hers, we've got her," Ben suggested, flying alongside the Pokemon trainer.

Gon shrugged his shoulders when he heard Rachel that he's not an average guy.

"Sure I am. I've been able to survive around here by using other stuff that I can't get my hands on..."

And then Ms. Tairee's evil twin showed up.

Damn it.

Library to Streets

Hercules followed Caboose and the others outside in search of Miss Tairee’s clone. “I…uh don’t want to brag but…yeah I am.” Herc replied to Bergree in a very sheepish tone, confirming what he had said previously. He wasn’t expecting to find the clone easily or face her so soon but he was prepared this time as he then readied himself again. “Guess we’ve got no choice. Get ready, everyone!” He told everybody in present, telling them to prepare in the process.

Leaving the library, with Ben

Louie nodded in agreement. "That sounds good... Though we don't really have anything like that. How about your alien form with the sticky goo?" Louie asked in return. "We could try to make an opening for you" the trainer added.

The new street battle

"What's wrong? Y'all shakin' in yer boots?" the evil Miss Tairee asked, lowering a bit closer to the ground. "Or ya' givin' up? I could make it quick and painless for ya', then ya' wouldn't worry about a thing but servin' me" the faux librarian suggested, then snickered.

"Get bent!" Rachel yelled, leaning to one side from behind Caboose and firing her pistol right at the evil Miss Tairee. The bullet hit her cheek and of course just bounced off without leaving a mark.

The evil Miss Tairee just grinned some more. "Now that's more like it" the evil Miss Tairee muttered, one of the robotic arms swiping one of the holographic screens. With a blur, an M60 machine gun appeared just in front of and a bit above the evil Miss Tairee, dropping down so she could grab it from the air with a slight flourish. "Let's get started!" the malicious duplicate yelled, punctuating the emphasis by racking the bolt on the machine gun. Then she held it at her hip, aimed it a bit left, and started firing, while slowly sweeping it to her right.

As Rachel went back to ducking behind Caboose, Bergree moved himself up onto one of the walls of an adjacent building, while making motions with his arms. A swirl of water started to manifest around him, magically flowing through the air, before shooting out towards the evil Miss Tairee. Rather than attempt to hit her though, the water suddenly spread out vertically in the air in front of her, creating a sort of wall in an attempt to obstruct her vision. For the time being she continued to fire the machine gun, the bullets passing right through the small wall of water; apparently she didn't care that she couldn't aim clearly at them, and just kept sweeping her fire back and forth across the street indiscriminately.

Meanwhile Blue had flown up to and landed on the edge of a rooftop, across from Bergree. There the terrarian waited, watching the battle and apparently thinking.

Leaving the library

Ben thought for a moment, and nodded, landing on a nearby building top.

"On the one hand... I'm not sure if it's a good idea to leave this form. Cause it's almost invincible. But if we can get her totally stuck up, maybe we can find a way to beat her," he admitted.

Hiding behind a chimney, Ben pressed the watch and turned back into his child-like human self.

He then started to adjust the watch until he reached Stinkfly.

"If this is going to work, you need to keep her attention. If she sees me, the jig will be up and we'll be creamed," Ben pointed out. "I need to catch her by surprise or this won't work. Got it?"

"Alright, alright..." There was a resounding clonk as, after a few seconds of work and some hurried swears, Rick dropped a crude but functional-looking computer on the desk and shrugged. "You know, it's not up to my usual standards, but. D-de*urp*desperate times and all that, I guess."

Some rooftop

"Right, you can count on us" Louie said in a determined tone, giving Ben a nod.

Library, lobby

"Just as long as it works mister Sanchez, then it will be just fine..." Miss Tairee said, putting down the pen and paper and stepping over to the computer. Since she wasn't behind the desk now, it was easier to see what she was doing as she started to type. Though some key presses were seemingly normal, sometimes her finger would stop in the air well above the key, but the key would press anyways; other times still, her finger would clearly pass through the key as if it weren't there, stop a bit farther down, and then the key would press.

Meanwhile, on a simple textbox on the screen, Miss Tairee was typing out seemingly gibberish. Soon, text characters were showing up in the textbox that shouldn't have been possible to type out on that simple keyboard; or even that computer at all. Then, instead of simply being a two dimensional image on the screen, the text had three dimensions. Then it had four physical dimensions. Then Five. Then six. And on and on until the mind-numbing-to-look-at tenth dimensional script was there, swirling and twisting as Miss Tairee continued to type quickly.

Finally after maybe forty seconds of typing or so, the whole computer and keyboard blurred, then were replaced with a much sleeker, more advanced, and more sophisticated computer. "Because I can just do that. We're back in business now; if you still feel like helping, perhaps you could go lend the others a hand in keeping my doppelganger busy" Miss Tairee suggested, promptly going right back to typing on the now much better computer.

"Find her first, um... Maybe, we could use some more help" Louie thought out loud. "If anyone on the radio knows where she is now, then we would know what to look out for" the trainer elaborated.

Library, lobby

"Really, 'just a guy with a portal gun'? I've done my homework mister Sanchez; I know enough about you, even if you are from one of Director's works" Miss Tairee said, as a secondary screen appeared beside her first in a blur, already scrolling with tons of information, which she was staring at even as she continued speaking. "Either you already have, or you would have inevitably done the following: Effectively circumvent death by transferring your mental consciousness into another body; use that same trick to infiltrate an entire city populated by inter-dimensional versions of yourself; teleport that city into a space federation prison space station; and hack the space federation's core systems to change their currency into having no value, thus plummeting their entire government and society into chaos" the librarian listed off, while still typing.

"And now, yes, you are up against what is effectively a sort of deity, and if she's allowed to win, then your free will will be gone. Your grandson's free will will be gone. Your entire universal hub, what you know as your whole multiverse, will be under her control. Yet you intend to sit on the sidelines?" Miss Tairee asked rhetorically. She paused her typing briefly, to let out a little sigh. "Well, I suppose it also wouldn't hurt to mention that if you do help and she does not win, you'll most certainly be rewarded in some fashion" the librarian added as she resumed her typing.

Garrett scowled, looking at the woman... One thing he knew for certain: he was not about to fight openly.

While the evil Tairee's vision was obscured by the water, Garrett quickly looked around to see if there was a building nearby he could duck into. Hopefully with some windows, so that he could keep firing at Tairee from inside.

Street Fighting

Seemed like he was completely right about Badee coming around in a conveniently timed manner the moment he brought up finding her. Caboose was smart like that. Meanwhile, the fake Librarian was really really dumb. Taking them so lightly when she could literally just stop this in a second, how prideful could you get?

"Uh, yeah, I'm not really good at listening to mean ladies, so you might just want to skip the talking part," the sim trooper said, rejecting the idea of giving up for a quick death instantly. And then the machine gun fire started. Unfortunately, Caboose didn't speak bullet so he wasn't sure if this was some advanced deal making or she had just decided to straight up kill them.

Not really important, though. Rachel was using him as cover, so he couldn't exactly move at the moment, but that was alright. He had never been the type to get away from bullets... in fact, he was more likely to strike up a conversation while in a gunner's sights. "That's a neat gun, can I have one? I didn't have time to get anything like that today before the nice you died," he spoke casually, not even sure if the clone had enhanced hearing to hear normal volume speech over her gunfire.

Without wasting a moment, he raised up Freckles and started to point it at the faker through the watery wall. "Gun," he whispered to his own weapon, directing it. As a weapon with such a high rate of fire gave off a ton of heat, it shouldn't have been an issue to aim for it. More likely that he could hurt the newly summoned item than any of the previously established as invulnerable things. With the assisted aiming, he tried to take out the clone's death spraying gun.

Fight with the fake

Out in the streets like this, Garrett would have easy pickings; there was a brick walled apartment building on one side, a glass windowed office building on the other, or if he moved a little back, some large building that looked like maybe a museum or an elementary school.

The evil Miss Tairee wasn't responding to what Caboose was saying, but his return fire into her machine gun worked, breaking the M60 in her hands and halting the machine gun fire. "Oh, shootin' my gun, not bad thinkin' there" the evil Miss Tairee said, tossing the broken gun aside. "Here then; if ya'd rather shoot somethin' that ain't me, how's about some friends?" the devious duplicate added. There was a blur in the street ahead of them, and a pack of six white, plain featured androids appeared. At first they had their heads and arms down, as if in a deactivated state, but then they shuddered, and raised their heads up, before starting to sprint forward towards those still on the ground.

A blade of ice flew down and stabbed through the torso of one of the androids, then Blue landed down on the street, his icy sword in hand now.

Behind Caboose, Rachel's walkie talkie went off with Ben's voice, which made her pause. "Hey, one second!" Rachel said loudly to Caboose, then she took a step back and grabbed her walkie talkie. "Ben? It's Rachel; we're fighting her now in a street. We'll try to make some kind of signal but it's a mess!" the militia member called quickly into the walkie talkie, then let go of the button and yelled, "can someone make a signal?!"

"I can!" Bergree yelled, already moving his arms for another spell, then thrusting them skyward. Darkness seemed to shoot out of shadows around them and fly towards the drider then angle upwards, streaming into the sky and coalescing into a sort or dark star shape.

"Okay! Look for that black thing in the sky!" Rachel added into the walkie talkie.

With that done, Bergree started to turn his attention back to the fight, just in time to see the evil Miss Tairee flying right at him. Without adequate time to react, the drider took an upward spinning kick to the chin, making him stagger backwards along the wall he was clung to. "Hey now, I didn't say I was done fightin' myself" the evil Miss Tairee noted, giving a chuckle as she prepared to close in and attack Bergree again.

Some rooftop

"Ben? It's Rachel; we're fighting her now in a street. We'll try to make some kind of signal but it's a mess!" Rachel's voice responded, with some of the chaos faintly audible in the background. "Okay! Look for that black thing in the sky!" she then added after a short bit.

Louie looked around, but Swishee saw it first, flapping her wings and making a slightly gargled honk with Louie in her bill. "There Ben! That way!" Louie said, pointing at the shadowy signal that was unfortunately maybe a minute of flight time away.

Once the clone of Miss Tairee summoned the androids, Herc didn't waste a moment and decided that if he couldn't damage the clone, he could at least attack the bots that she had spawned. He then quickly started attacking the androids with a flurry of fists and if he succeeded in destroying them he would then get behind Caboose.

Street Fight

Caboose knew he'd have to thank Washington and Carolina for that gun shooting trick when he was back home. They always loved doing that to even the playing field, so of course he had been wanting to try it! Even the Badee thought it was a cool trick, which made him extra cool.

While the extra targets were problematic, especially the fact that it implied the fake could create infinite helping hands even without turning city dwellers to her side, it showed a willingness to play along with a phony fight. As someone who had lived in a fake war being kept in equilibrium due to no one really wanting to just end it, the sim trooper could tell on an instinctual level.

One of the androids had been cut apart by the icy guy, but there were still five left approaching them menacingly. He'd have gone out to join Blue in close quarter combat against the minions, if not for Rachel telling him to hold on. Caboose almost forgot he was acting as mobile cover!

"Right, uh, they're pretty fast but I am also really good at destroying robots," he noted, raising his gun and firing at the closest white automaton. "Also making friends with them, but that doesn't look like it will work right now. Maybe once they're broken." Beginning to slowly backpedal as he shot, Caboose adjusted his aim so that he was always gunning for the one closest to him at any given time.

If any robots got within melee distance, they'd be on the receiving force of blunt force trauma by way of his fists and gun being slammed into their arms, abdomens, and heads.
