Two's enemy was ironically her own sister too. Except this one wasn't a Shadow at all. Well that was...kind of disturbing, but everyone today was even more murderous than usual.
"If you're not comfortable facing her, I can try to take Zero on too," she offered. "I just wish I knew she was an enemy before we got here..." She could have done some damage, maybe.
"You do know that if we're facing a group of clones that are trying their best to murder people, the best weapon to permanently get rid of them would be a lethal one, not a..." Makoto looked at the phaser on the table. "A stun gun. You're going to get yourself or someone else killed if that's your plan for when your watch runs out of energy." She took the supplies that Miss Tairee had created and tucked them into her bag, though she kept the radio on her person. "Alright, I'm going to get Rex before we check if Morty's really being held at the arcade." She'd leave it up to Ben if he wanted to follow or not. She switched back to her Phantom Thief outfit and got to the doors where the Militia ship, Rean, Caboose, Silanea, and Rex were, trying to determine if the fight was over or not.
Opponents from their home universe? Well, that is a bit troublesome. Especially since there were a lot of people that aren't fond of him back home. And then another Rick suddenly announced that he had kidnapped Morty, is hiding in an Arcade.
"Well, I will help you getting Morty back. The more of us the better. Safety in numbers, right?" Genji said to Makoto, Rick and Two before going along with Makoto to see if the fighting was over.

"Woah, woah, woah!" said Rick, wheeling his gun around as the Blaziken lunged for him, only to be immobilized in a bubble before he could come to harm. "It's not me that killed your trainer, it was the other me... J-391, I mean." He thought for a moment, then brightened up. "Hey, you interested in beating the shit out of the other Rick? I'm sure we can *urp* scrounge up some... charbroiled birdseed on the way? Pokémon food? Whatever you eat, I'm sure I can find some." He fired a portal with his free hand and took a swig.
"Alright: *urp* all ashore who's goin' ashore, I guess..."

Fight outside the library
Silanea responded to the charge and attack by simply still having her ethereal shield there, though the force of the blow was still enough to force it back as Rex swooped in and picked Silanea up, to her mild surprise. "Nothing the secretary can't fix" Silanea said to Rex, then moved her free arm to direct the ethereal blade in the air to swoop around and fly to Zero to stab her in the back.
At the same time, Zero was now an open target no longer in melee combat. "Weapons free!" Wells yelled, bringing up his laser musket and quickly firing off a handful of well-aimed shots at Zero's center mass. Fastanook and the other militia members on the Thunder Child deck likewise opened fire; mostly still with phasers as they didn't want to take a moment to switch weapons first. Only a couple of them switched to fully automatic rifles and unloaded on Zero's position after the brief delay to swap to them.
The Miss Tairee copy kept tapping on the holographic screen, and a bag of holding and a few more of those healing potions appeared with blurs near Two.
Ace and the other pokemon looked at the portal, then Ace looked at the Miss Tairee copy and squawked. "I don't know if it actually goes where he says it goes; he could be lying for all I know" the Miss Tairee copy answered the blaziken. "Also it isn't really possible for him to aim those portals precisely given the nature of the city, no matter how much he thinks he can. So that probably isn't going where he thinks it is anyway" the duplicate librarian added. Ace looked uncertain, and glanced around before squawking at Ben.
"He's asking you what you think" the Miss Tairee copy idly translated, while still typing.
Ben didn't look like he liked the answer Miss Tairee gave him, sighing.
"Whatever, fine," he murmured, about to take the phaser again when Makoto pointed out the flaws of using a nonlethal weapon. He turned towards the Phantom Thief and furrowed his brow.
"I'm not using a gun!" he insisted. "Superheroes don't use guns!" He sighed, continuing to think when Miss Tairee got his attention again. Louie's Blaziken asked for his opinion on this situation.
He thought for a moment longer, looking down at Louie again for a bit. Then he furrowed his brow and nodded. He stood up straight and looked determined.
"I'll tell you what I think," he said. "Okay, guys! Ace, Swishee, Lil' Sunny, Pecha, Nimbus, Goldeneye!" he exclaimed. "Your trainer is in trouble, and I'm gonna help you bring him back to life! Let's get out there, and find the jerk who's out to get him, and take him down! Who's with me?!" he exclaimed, looking pumped.
lewis, library, do i have enough badges to train you
I rolled my eyes. "So you're refusing to use guns, not for any moral or practical reason but because you want to fit yourself into a sanitized mold that doesn't work here. That sounds smart." A consoling hand went to Ace's timeout bubble. "I guess that's ironic coming from me, but.
"So, we go get Morty, or possibly revive him, and then try and draw out that other trainer?" I asked, just to confirm, looking at the team of pokémon. What if I...no, I couldn't...but then, who else even knew how? "Uh...why don't I take the pokémon? I've played the games, they've been a thing for most of my life, which is probably slightly more experience than half this room. If, they're down for that, I guess. Tairee, could I have, like...a little thing on my phone that tells these guys' movesets? Not their movepools, to be clear, their movesets." I checked out the glass walls. Zero seemed to be noping out, while carrying a...Cap shield? Joy, so we had a Hydra agent or something. "...By the way, are there any other evil copies anyone thinks we should know about?"
Makoto didn't give Ben a response, knowing there wasn't a point in debating proper superhero tools when the most efficient solution to today's problem was permanently getting rid of as many roaming "bosses" as possible. If he wanted to use pokemon instead, then fine. It didn't seem any nicer using magic animals to assault people though. Probably messier. If he wanted to handicap himself, then fine. She'd have to cover for him too.
"If you think you can dodge an EMP grenade when I use them, then sure," Makoto said to Genji. "I'd hate to seriously injure you trying to disable the other Rick's weapons." Well, now that Zero was being fired upon by every Militia member in attendance, Zero looked like she was fleeing the area. That threat was momentarily handled now, and no one else died in the process. Staying out of Wells and his line of fire, she called out to Rex and Silanea. "Hey, we figured out where Morty is! You want to help us save him?" she asked.

Ace looked to Ben, and didn't make a noise, but did give a determined nod. As Lewis spoke up, the Miss Tairee copy was still tapping away on the holographic screen.
"Well that is kind of his role in the multiverse" the Miss Tairee copy commented on Lewis' argument to Ben. When Lewis offered to lead the pokemon, the six of them collectively stared at him a moment.
Swishee gave a couple of low honks, and pointed one of her wings at him.
"I think they don't like you" the Miss Tairee copy helpfully translated.
Lil' Sunny gave a chirp and raised an arm.
"Except that one" the Miss Tairee copy corrected, as there was a blur near Lewis and a piece of paper with team information on it appeared.
"... Is there a pattern to who the enemies are?" asked Veela the gremlin, stepping over to the conversation.
"I can tell you there's a pattern, but not what it is; only that they're copies of beings from your own universes" the Miss Tairee copy answered, glancing to the gremlin briefly.
Veela took it in consideration for a moment. "I wonder if... The tougher people here have tougher opponents" Veela theorized, looking to the others.
Zero, Just Wants To Leave, Outside Library > MIA (Two is also here)
"I don't like flighty men much." She snipped back at Rex as the situation became more than a little muddy. She still had her shield, but the snakegirl avoided damage. "But that's just a matter of putting some discipline to you." Unfortunately that wouldn't be right now. "Son of a-meet you later, boy. Try not to bring these, piece of...!, idiots with you, if you please." Growling as more shots reached her, and only narrowly avoiding the ethereal blade, the flowery Intoner thus ran for the hills.
In the meantime, Two emerged with the others going to save Morty, the bag and the potions in tow. "I'm not afraid of fighting Zero, I don't think. It's something at One warned all of us would happen eventually. We even fought her together before I got here, in fact." Zero's dragon was dead, but her elder sister was nowhere to be found back home. Perhaps she didn't survive either? That would just be wishful thinking, probably.

Ben rolled his eyes a little bit at Lewis making judgments about the way he wanted to operate things. He was tempted to disregard everything Lewis said for that alone, but he knew better than to do that. Besides, he still had some questions about why he had been human for the past few days, but at this point he didn't particularly care.
There were people in danger and he had to get out there and help.
"Yeah, so?" he asked. "Tough luck. That's how I roll. You don't like it, I don't care. But I'm a superhero, and I won't use guns. It's not something I'll ever do. Period." When Lewis offered to use Louie's Pokemon, he furrowed his brow.
"No way, Louie hates you, he'd never let you use his Pokemon! If anyone should help them save their trainer, it should be me since I'm his partner," he explained. "I owe it to him to make things right. A good leader always watches out for his team. Hercules! You wanna help me find Louie's enemy and bring him back?" he asked.

Cole didn't have much more to offer, turning his head from Makoto and the others to look over towards Ben, studying him as the other boy protested the idea of using guns. Finally, he looked back at Miss Tairee.
"Before I became a child, I had daggers...Sans and Arcade...gave them to you to hold for me, I think. Do you still have them somewhere? I...I don't need them anymore. Ben can take them."
lewis, library, 0 friendship
"Well, people with more powers tend to be from more dangerous places, so...probably, but I doubt it's a rule." I shrugged at...Veela, was it? "It might be good to list off the more dangerous ones later."
So Ben was seriously gonna keep doing this? Yaaaaaay. "...I'm gonna save you the diatribe on your leadership abilities, among other things, and just ask what you think of cowboys. Tairee you're gonna encourage him." I grabbed the moveset sheet. Sweet scent, huh? Maybe that'd draw 'em if they were near enough. How he expected to do this training thing while barely understanding what pokémon were was a bit of a mystery, but then he was pulling the power of friendship card like a shonen hero. It wasn't like the pokémon themselves liked me either, except Sunny for some goddamn reason.
"I get the feeling she likes everyone and honestly I'm not sure how to feel about that." I said, frowning at her. "I probably should've expected the others, though." I rubbed my forehead. "Okay, fair point. Still, I think the one who has the closest thing to training experience should be the substitute trainer here.
"Though, uh...when we're done, could you tell him I'm sorry about the, crossbow thing? I uh...freaked out, I guess, I dunno why, it just..." A sigh.
While everyone else was focused on the other Rick, Hercules was thinking about how Ben had encountered Hades and lived but at the same time he was thinking on how to defend himself should an unexpected fight were to occur until he had an idea. While he was doing this he walked to the desk where Miss Tairee was and asked her this: "Miss Tairee can I please have a bow and arrow to use? I need to be prepared you see."
He turned to Ben when he asked him about wanting to track down Louie's killer: "Yeah sure I'll help. But I have to wonder though, if you have already seen Hades, Ben, I have a bad feeling that he's going to pop up where we expect it."
Hades just looked at the Trickster with an incredious expression on his face and then went: "Okay first of all, we are NOT doing anything like that and two it would be redundant because it would be a waste of time and I don't see anything in a hostage situation that benefits me and besides it ain't my bag. But I was thinking more on the lines of catastrophe, ya know just sidetrack them from what they are doing and maybe add a little bit of anarchy into the mix. Am I right?"
Just outside the library / militia channel
Wells and the other militia members continued to fire upon Zero as she ran; in fact once she was even more clear of other targets, the man on the cannon fired another shot, trying to lead ahead of her.
They didn't pursue if she managed to get out of sight though. It was about that time that Eight Four's voice came over their walkie talkies again. "The hostiles are now attacking the prison! I repeat, prison is under heavy attack!" Eight Four yelled through the channel, with gunfire very obvious in the background.
"This is now a priority situation" Wells said into his own walkie talkie after lowering his laser musket. "Anyone with the ability to get airborne should use that to get to the prison quickly. Thunder Child, remain at the library, but try to lock eyes on the prison if it shifts close" the lieutenant ordered. Again, there were some affirmatives, then one voice spoke up in particular.
"Samson here; that boy with the anti-tech magic is on his way to the prison with his flying broom. Relaying for him, over" Samson's voice reported over the channel.
"I'm quite certain that the daggers would not do Ben any better than the phaser did; however if he would like to take them, then I suppose I can do that" the Miss Tairee copy said to Cole, before turning her attention to Hercules. "I'm going to assume you meant more than a single arrow" the duplicate librarian noted in response, while typing on the holographic screen, before adding, "you're going to have to be a bit more specific about what kind of bow you want, though."
Meanwhile, the pokemon continued to look at Lewis, not looking like they were feeling any different than before; except Sunny, who looked confused and hurt that Lewis was frowning at her. Nimbus made a few low chirps, then Pecha followed that up with a sound like a mild bark and nodding of her head.
"They're saying that if you are actually sorry, you should apologize directly to Louie" the Miss Tairee copy again helpfully translated.
"... I don't really get what's going on here, but, I was still kind of right, then?" Veela said after a moment of thought. "So who's the strongest person in the city..." the gremlin trailed off, thinking and flicking her ears, before suggesting, "that really big armored guy?"
The Trickster frowned as Hades vehemently objected to his idea, then he shrugged. "Fine. I will not pursue this idea further, Mr. Hades; Hercules is your quarry, not mine, and I suppose you're free to pursue him any way you wish. And I must say, your idea of spreading chaos sounds quite enjoyable," he finished with a nasty grin.
"Still," he continued, "before we plan our next move, we should first find out where they are and what they are up to. Now, it isn't hard to guess where the quick-footed lad is headed. He would certainly bring the wounded man to a safe place, and there is but one such place in this city: the famed library at the center. Let us head there and scout out the place," he said as he turned to leave. Under his breath, he muttered to himself: "And I suppose I'll find you hiding there as well, thiefsie fool..."
Outside Library-Oh look at that, I've been impaled!
Despite being still very upset at Zero for what she did to his helmet, Caboose had little in the way of options for dealing with her at the moment. After all, with a giant sword impaled through his armor, the sim trooper was a bit preoccupied. In theory, something like this wouldn't be enough weight to slow him down. In practice, the soldier was likely to keep on forgetting it was there and run into walls.
Luckily Rean, good friend that he was, moved to help him out. Even with it being too heavy for the boy, once Caboose started helping out the sword slid out without too much difficulty. "Thank you, Rean!" he told his friend, looking down at the sword. "This is mine now." The cool frisbee was gone but at least he got something else to play with. For someone with his strength, the blade only required one arm.
He bent over to pick Freckles up from the ground. Straightening up, he looked Rean right in the eyes... and for the first time ever, Rean would sort of be able to do the same right back. The damage to his helmet left enough of a hole that one brilliantly blue eye bright with childish innocence could peer through. A bit of his straight blonde hair was also visible, as well as surrounding white skin, but that was it. "So... um, did we get her?" he asked, looking around the area. It didn't look like she was around anymore, but he might have failed a spot check... knowing him, he probably did.

Streets - near the prison
Curly had been spending most of the day wandering somewhat aimlessly, after a few months of normalcy, navigating a randomly shifting city was hard to adjust to again. After a couple of encounters with overly hostile nobodies and civilians dealing with their own figurative demons, she decided to stick to the rooftops until she found someone she recognized.
The reports on the Militia channel sounded important, so in the meantime she kept jumping and jetting from rooftop to rooftop until she caught sight of a military looking tower and headed for it.
"Alright, everyone who's going in," announced Rick to the world in general, peering through a variety of rapid-fire portals as he prepared to depart into a creative reinterpretation of the local laws of time and space "... let's go get this bastard."
Rick cocked his pistol and dropped into an alert crouch the moment that the portal opened just outside the doors of the arcade-the brightly coloured exterior was scorched by assorted blaster shots and punctured by bullet holes, though some of the neon lights within the darkened space weakly flickered.
Rick counted off beats on his fingers. "Alright, any minute now..."
An improvised loudspeaker crackled to life, and an irritated voice that sounded exactly like Rick's own barked out a very un-Ricklike monologue. "Rick C-137, you are currently violating six laws, including violation of article four, section C, clause 74 of Council-approved hostage negotiation laws. I'll - look, you got one more chance to drop the gun and quietly turn yourself over, or Morty..."
"Rick? That you?" came Morty's voice over the loudspeaker.

Gon was just about to leave the library and hunt for Chaoz when he watched Rick... do his own thing.
The assassin decided to head outside, hunt for Chaoz and get some answers.
To hell if someone wanted to stop him.
lewis, library, who needs badges i guess
"I s'pose...I just figured since y'all'd definitely be the next ones to see him..." I looked away from the group, holding the moves in Ben's general direction (for lack of anyone better to pass it to). "Fine, I guess you'll need this. If you don't know what something does, ask, I'll probably know. Also water moves are stronger in rain and fire is stronger in sunlight so use that if you can."
A quiet exhale. I didn't want to think about who I had, but considering the subject matter it was probably time to rip the bandage off. "Already dealt with that guy's dude, it seems like, and anyway he doesn't feel like such hot shit. Technically it should be the literal minor goddess, but she can probably deal with whatever that yields, so...I've thought a building into existence before but I don't think we should have anything on that scale..."
Ben blinked in confusion when Cole offered to give Ben his daggers.
"No, no, it's fine," he said to Miss Tairee. "Whatever, I'll just use the phaser," he sighed, taking back the phaser and putting it back onto his hip. Then he took the list of moves that Lewis was passing him, and glanced it over.
"All right, I get it! Kinda. Whatever, anything I don't get I'll figure out as I go along. Like I always do! Now who's ready to kick some bad guy butt and save your trainer? C'mon, let's go!"
Nearing the prison
As Curly got closer, the sounds of combat were getting clearer and clearer; rapid assault rifle and plasma weapon fire both rang out through the air, punctuated by heavy slamming and crumbling. When she'd get into sight of the front side of the prison, she'd see a small gathering of people led by the two aliens assaulting the front gates; the brute chieftain had just broken through using his gravity hammer, and charged inside against a focused barrage of bullets. The elite zealot followed after, staying behind the brute for cover. Bodies of more mundane nemeses were scattered along the street, and a couple of dead militia members were slumped against the walls inside the front bunker rooms on each side of the gate. Nobody had really noticed Curly yet.
"Tally ho, there! What seems to be the trouble?" asked the British-like tone of voice from a certain hat-wearing cephalopod. Sir Redring moved himself from just across the street, where a couple of feral wolves had just met their demise to his swords. "Some sort of hostage crisis, I gather?" Sir Redring added, as he wiped the blood off his swords.
Ace gave Ben a nod, then looked at the Miss Tairee copy and squawked. "Yes yes, alright" the Miss Tairee copy said, tapping a button on the holographic screen; the bubble vanished with a blur, and Ace stepped onto the floor and moved over to Ben, where the other pokemon also gathered around.
"I have already dealt with my own opponent" the Miss Tairee copy noted to Lewis simply, while still tapping on the holographic screen.
"... Wait, you thought a building into existence? What?" Veela asked in a confused tone.
Outside the library — "Let's go get this son of a bitch"
"And here I thought you were actually fun" Rex answered. As much as he wanted to chase Zero down it just wasn't worth it. Keeping her away from the library was the smartest thing to do and he honestly didn't have it in him to keep fighting for long. Van Kleiss, Sae, Zero, that Vilgax guy... it was just too draining.
Keeping his eyes on the people that he could keep safe would hopefully help prevent the usual scenario where he was spread too thin to be of any use. The great mood he had enjoyed the day before was slowly but surely eroding away with each passing moment and he just sounded defeated. It was starting to become a worrying trend.
"Please tell me we don't have to deal with your nemesis too" he told Silanea.
Thankfully Makoto showed and looked fine. All those injuries Solas had caused were gone and she was once again sporting her Phantom Thief outfit.
"Are you ok?!" the question had an obvious answer but Rex was barely processing what she was saying. Morty was apparently still alive but not exactly safe and some people were ready to rescue him. "Uh... sure. I'm gonna need a minute, though" he looked around, just in case Zero or Van Kleiss decided the fight wasn't over just yet. "Keep your eyes open"
Unfortunately, that wasn't the only problem going on at the moment. The prison was metaphorically on fire—and maybe literally—and the military wanted backup as usual. Rex complained at the air.
"This day just keeps getting better and better"
Outside Library to Inside Library
As urgent as the situation at the prison sounded, she'd already agreed to help Rick first, so she'd have to check over there afterward. Rex seemed kind of stressed out too, so perhaps she should go on ahead.
"I'm okay, just got caught off guard, that's all," Makoto said. She wouldn't fall for anything like that again, and they'd been right by the Library anyway. "Alright, well...we're checking the arcade first, and Rick has his teleporter thing in the lobby. I'll see you there." She headed back inside to meet up with the rest of the group.
"Are they actually inside?" Makoto asked, approaching the waiting portal again. She could see the arcade building had already been damaged, and there were voices coming from it. "...I can throw one of these in before we go, just to disable any of the weapons he has." Makoto pulled out one of the EMP grenades and showed it to Rick.
lewis, library ==> arcade
"Well I can't do it now but...I-I'll get more into it after this, ok? I'm uh...worried for a friend." Assuming I didn't die, I guess. "...Good luck."
I walked through the glowing plane of misshapen space. Nothing was exploding just yet, but from the loudspeaker noises the other Rick clearly knew we were here. "Is it really turning oneself in if there's only one person asking?" I wondered out loud.
