CoLC crossover RP, discussion

Here now, fully recapped. Woke up too late to head out, so I'll have to take care of that tomorrow. I'm going to check on some things, and then think about what to post; I was expecting more people to have posted by now.

EDIT: Alright, with that post I better get going for tonight. Tomorrow I'll have to be setting an alarm, so I'll be awake earlier than today, but I'll be immediately leaving to go take care of something. In the end, I probably won't be on until around the same time anyway, give or take a while, probably depending on traffic and if the place is busy.

Here now, fully recapped. Going to check on some things and then see about working on a post. I am feeling a bit of writer's block at the moment.

@pillowmantis: From their starting point, Two, Caboose, and Jackson were standing in the middle of an aisle. So the flanking maneuver you're describing isn't really possible unless Caboose vaulted right over the top of the aisle shelf, (which I don't think he could do) or plowed right through it like the Kool-aid Man. (which I can see as more plausible).

EDIT: Got distracted hanging out with friends and stayed up later than I probably should have. Tomorrow I'm not going to be able to be on before work, but since it's the short shift it won't have to be until super late by the time I'm back. It'll still be later than I got on tonight of course; probably around three hours later or so, give or take. Also I'll have to start laundry once I'm back...

Here now, fully recapped. Got a little bit distracted by a movie when I got home, but otherwise I'm on time; somehow I got messed up last night and thought that today's shift was an hour shorter than it actually was, through some just simple failure at math. But I had the end time of the shift right, which is why I'm not way later than I had estimated.

I'm going to check on some things and then see about working on a post. Though I don't have much to post for, actually.

OH ALSO, before I forget again, something I should've brought up a while ago. Minor announcement time: I will be putting the RP on brief hiatus for Halloween, just for the benefit of those who will be too busy to be on that day. I will start the hiatus on Monday night when I go for the night, (Which will be early because of what I have going on myself on Halloween day.) and end the hiatus when I get on Wednesday.

EDIT: Well, I guess I'll get going for tonight. Tomorrow's shift starts later than today's did, so I will actually have a chance to be getting online before work. If I do, that will be a lot earlier than I was on today. Otherwise, the shift ends later too, so after work I probably won't be on until around an hour later than I was today.

EDIT AGAIN: Alright, I'm going to go ahead and get going for tonight. Tomorrow I'm planning on again hopping on before work; probably a little earlier than I did today, in fact. But, the downside is that I might not be able to post after work tomorrow night; because of the early shift on Sunday, I'll have to go to bed early tomorrow night, and probably won't have the time between getting home from work and going for the night.

Alright, popping in for a little bit before work. I don't have a lot of time so I'm just going to work on a quick post. As mentioned before, I might not be able to post after work tonight; it's not guaranteed, but I wouldn't count on me posting again today. Tomorrow I'll probably be back online around 1.5-2 hours later than now.

EDIT: Well, during my shift I never got a chance to take a thirty minute break, so they let me clock out thirty minutes early instead. I'm going to check on some things, then see about making a quick response post.

Here now, fully recapped. Got a little caught up with other things after getting home, and also wanted just a bit more napping in before I got on.

I'm going to check on some things, and then I would like to work on a post, though honestly I'm feeling a bit bummed, and quite writer's blocked at the moment.

Gonna go ahead and make a new post since this is somewhat important; my work schedule for this coming week, and by extension, the plans for the Halloween hiatus:

As they are relevant, I have tomorrow off, then somewhat long early shifts Tuesday and Wednesday. Then a moderate evening shift Thursday, a somewhat short evening shift Friday, a somewhat long evening shift Saturday, topped off with a somewhat short early shift next Sunday.

This means the hiatus will begin relatively early tomorrow night, when I get going for that night. As mentioned, I will end the hiatus as soon as I'm actually on Wednesday, which given what I have to do that day after work, won't be particularly early but shouldn't be super late either. Beyond that, once again on next Saturday, unless I get off work early, again, I don't expect to be able to post after work.

Anyway, I'm also making this post to say I'm going for tonight. Tomorrow I'm sleeping in with no alarm, but I should be on earlier than I was on today, probably.

Here now, fully recapped. Slept a while longer than I expected. I'm going to check on some things, and then see about making a quick response post. I don't have super long to be on today, and I do want to get some work done on other things, so I probably won't be doing too much posting today, aside from a response post and then the hiatus starting post later.

Quick note, I'm gonna go on a trip this Wednesday and will be out until Sunday afternoon.

Alright, with this post the RP is officially on its Halloween hiatus. I probably won't even be posting here tomorrow, as I have work and then I have to be the one watching for trick or treaters this year, and I was planning on renting a movie to watch while I did so. Plus I'll have to get going even earlier tomorrow anyway, so this break really works out for me personally.

I hope you all have a happy Halloween, stay safe, and I apologize if you get bored waiting for the RP to come back. Should be back on probably a bit later in the day on Wednesday than when I got on today.

Alright, finally here. I'm feeling extra glad that I put on this hiatus, as today and yesterday have been... Far from great for me. Nothing particularly bad, but I've had not a lot of sleep and not a lot of free time that could've been spent on typing.

As such, I'm actually not as prepared for ending the hiatus as I would've liked. So, my apologies guys, but I'll have to ask you to hold on just a bit longer. I need to leave to go get dinner in about an hour; I will be working on the stuff until then, but I don't think I'll quite have it finished before that. If so, I'll save what I've got and finish it up once I'm back, which would probably be adding about another hour to it. So, hiatus will be over either about within the hour, or in about two hours.

I'm not going to check on other things first; I'm just going to concentrate on working on this.

• The city is being beset by alien invaders! As with previous days spawning lots of enemies, players are OOC allowed to spawn in and control some of these enemies for yourselves within guidelines. In fact, if your characters are anywhere but the library, you are encouraged to do so.
• "Alien invaders" in this context means entities from stories that involve earth being invaded by aliens that are not from earth. The invasion does not necessarily have to be the focus of the story as a whole, but it still must be the invasion forces; forces from alien occupations after a successful invasion do not count, and obviously aliens who are not invading but happen to be around on earth do not count either.
• As usual, players are not allowed to spawn in anything that would constitute a boss like encounter without getting my permission to do so first. You should also refrain from spawning encounters in scenes your character is not in, or have your character suddenly arrive at a scene just to spawn an alien encounter there; that is unless the players whose characters are at the scene are fine with you doing so.
• While these aliens invaders are certainly not unbeatable and can still be auto killed to an extent, they should probably be more of a threat than say, the zombies of day nine or the plants and bugs of day two. Especially since the majority of them will likely have advanced weaponry and use tactics. They also have some air support craft and ground vehicles to utilize, too.
• All these alien invaders are on the same side as each other, and universally hostile to city residents, even in instances where they would or should normally fight each other. However they will not enter the library, no matter what; even attempting to force them into the library will fail, as they will seem to hit an invisible force field right at the doors, with either similar results or just plain failing if you try to teleport them inside.

On top of my work schedule being busy, my computer seems to have decided, in perhaps the worst timing possible, to start going into a death spiral that I'm not sure I can recover it from. Now thankfully I have alternatives to get on and post, (Besides my phone, which is way too much of a hassle to make real posts from.) but I don't always have access to these alternatives.

In fact, I can't even boot up skype. Wow.

This'll be interesting. Can aliens with human appearances work?

@Ominae: Their appearance isn't a relevant part of the rules. So if they still follow all the other rules, then yes.

@Oceanstuck: Weren't Yoshika and the alpaca inside the front lobby of the prison, where the drones would have to burst in through the roof to land there? If they were out front, the group coming to see Silanea would've been able to see them from around the front gate earlier. Either way, at least Fastanook and possibly a couple other militia members would still be there too, to make sure Yoshika and the alpaca weren't doing anything they shouldn't. I would post for them responding to the drones before leaving, but...

Since it's been quite a roller coaster and up and down day for me, (Mostly down until near the end where it's thankfully leaving off on hesitantly optimistic up.) and I'm still feeling rather tired and worn out from the last couple of days, I'm going to get going for tonight. Also just a little bit I feel like I should hold off on posting anyway until more people have had the chance to, since the hiatus only just ended.

Tomorrow's evening shift starts a bit on the early side, so I do not expect to be able to get on before work. Since it's the earliest ending evening shift of the week though, I estimate I'll be getting on... Probably around the same time I actually posted the hiatus ending, actually, give or take a while.

I was confused over whether they were supposed to be inside or outside, honestly, and went with outside because my mind was picturing them just in front of the lobby entrance more or less.

I will be far less frequent during this weekend; I'm heading out to the cousin's wedding, so at best I'll be able to keep track of stuff happening tomorrow. Saturday is likely completely taken and I should be back by Sunday afternoon. Sorry for the trouble.

Tomorrow is unfortunately the same deal as today; I don't expect to be on before work, (I was originally planning on setting aside time to get on before work, but then other stuff came up that I'll have to be doing.) so I'm not going to get on until late, like today. In particular, the shift is scheduled to end half an hour later than today's was; so if I don't get to go early, then I'll probably be getting on around a whole hour later than I did today. Though I won't have to do laundry, at least.

@Locoman: Once again I feel like your post seems a little off character with Rick. Why is he bothering to offer to what are essentially complete strangers to come with him? (Also, who is he actually offering it to?) Especially to his lab which you have previously had him dislike letting other people into.

Yeah, I ran out of time for that last ending bit, I expanded it.
