That seems like a very one-sided roleplay, there.

Then you're effectively roleplay as Cambot. It's not as if whatever TV he'll hook up to will have the capacity for voice-transmission, so all everyone else will see is a flying camera.

I get that's their thing, but they can't just sit and talk to themselves.

@Vampireandthen: What would even be the point of being in the RP if you're going to actively avoid interacting with other characters? I nearly kicked Ominae out because he was doing the same thing in a different way. Also having your characters do nothing but make fun of the other characters is just going to make you (yes, you, not just your characters) look like a jerk.

Anyway, I'm here now and fully recapped. I'm going to check on some things and then see about working on a post, though I don't have much to respond to at the moment. I'm gonna try, though keyword try, to work on some stuff for the Day 17 transition tonight; but even if I somehow get it done tonight, I'll probably hold off on posting it until tomorrow night anyway.

You know, Tom Servo and Crow kinda are jerks. Besides, they wouldn't be not interacting with other characters for the whole thing. My idea is that they end up trapped in an apartment, unable to get out, and while Joel sets about trying to figure a way to get out, the bots just decide to watch and do what they usually do.

@Vampireandthen: Your characters being jerks, and you using your characters being jerks to make fun of the other players' writing style and choices aren't the same thing. That's why I said that could make you specifically look like a jerk. Especially because not everyone is going to find that style of spectator mocking to be funny.

Anyway, with that latest post I'm going to call it for tonight. Tomorrow I'll probably be on around the same time as I was today, or maybe a while earlier. I plan on heading out to a restaurant, possibly with my folks, a while after I get up, but I'll try to get caught up and make a response post if need be before leaving for that.

And if I'm really lucky, I'll have the transition done and up sometime tomorrow night... I wouldn't necessarily count on it though... (Also because of scheduling stuff, it might be better on my end if I wait until after my work shift Saturday night...)

Anyway, I'm here now and fully recapped. I'm going to check on some things and then see about making a quick response post, then after that will be heading out to dinner.

EDIT: Well, I didn't get the transition done tonight anyway, but I got it almost done. I should be able to have it up soon after I get home from work tomorrow; maybe it'll even be my first post when I get on then. I think this works out slightly for the better anyway, since there's usually a small avalanche of clarification questions as soon as the transition goes up, so posting it at a time when I'll actually be online after posting it means I'll be able to answer them sooner.

Anyway, so with the little post for Tester responding to Eve, I'm going to get going for tonight. Tomorrow's an evening shift on the long side so I'm not going to be on until a fair deal later than I was today. I'd guess around 4.5-5 hours later.

Here now, fully recapped. I got to clock off half an hour early instead of taking a half hour break. My plan is that my next post up will be the transition post, which hopefully will not take me too long since I've already got a majority of the typing done.

@Vampireandthen: I see. I misread your previous post somewhat. Still seems pretty arbitrary to force that to happen, and like it could easily go poorly.

@All Hail Thrall: The furniture in the library is still the same. The library, except for Miss Tairee, was the only place not affected by the day conditions.

Day seventeen, dessert sands

• Default items lost due to Day 16's conditions are returned to all characters; items from the city are not.
• Characters are physically themselves, however all their items, both default and from the city, are palette swapped, including their clothes.
  • All items that are generally considered inedible^note This includes things that are technically edible but not generally meant for consumption, such as paper and cloth. are turned into traditionally edible substances, though retain their original function; including clothes. They are not necessarily easy to eat, but are always tasty. For characters such as robots or other artificial beings, this does not include their own bodies; those remain the same.
  • Items that are meant to be consumed such as food, rations, water, and potions become inedible substances, such as plastic, or colored glass inside a container. Therefore potions and other items meant to be consumed to use are the exception, and do not retain their original function.
    • The only exception to the above is books, which remain the same.
• The city also functions by the rules above, with all buildings and items in them that are generally considered inedible now turned into edible substances, and edible items turning inedible. The only exception being water faucets, which still pour out something that is edible, but not necessarily water; some will pour things such as soda, juice, or chocolate milk.
• The buildings are aesthetically transformed to fit themes such as the Wild West, ancient Egypt, classic Middle Eastern, and other settings associated with being out in the middle of a desert. Except for the library, which is the same shape as it usually is.
• While the city is overall the same size, and all the buildings are still in it, via some impossible geometry, there is also large stretches of open desert between clusters of buildings, with varying natural colors of sand. And as with the rest of the day theme, the sands are actually different varieties of sugar, the rocks are stuff like chocolate, and such. And likewise anything that would normally be edible, like cactus fruit, are instead fake and inedible.
  • In regards to city shifting, like similar days, the arrangement of buildings in the clusters will shift around and buildings can pop from one cluster to another, except for the library of course. Anyone in a cluster will not suddenly be shifted out into the desert, and vice versa.
  • Unlike most days, there is a sun in the sky, however it is always straight above and unmoving. In contrast to Day 13, there will be no nighttime; just 24 hours of constant sunlight, and the high heat to match. Despite this high heat, none of the newly-edible substances will melt.
  • Various books roll through the desert sands like tumbleweeds; other than being impossibly lightweight and thus catching in the wind, they are still normal books.
• Scattered in the desert are the occasional candy-ified versions of stereotypical baddies one would expect to find in desert-themed fiction, from outlaw cowboys to giant scorpions and sand elementals, just to name a few; they will attack anyone they come across, including potentially each other. While not completely harmless, due to being candy-ified they don't pose as much of a threat as they normally would, and shouldn't be much of an issue for most of the characters. In other words you are free to auto-hit and auto-kill them unless otherwise noted. Players may OOC spawn in and control these baddies, so long as they do not try to spawn in something like a boss fight. Also, these baddies are only out in the open desert, and won't wander into the areas the buildings are on their own; they would chase someone there however.

As always, feel free to wrap up things happening at the end of Day 16 in handwaves; just please try not to let them go too long, to hopefully avoid any timey wimey issues.

I'm serious, Vampireandthen. Whatever else you can say about Thegeniusyoshi, somewhere in the world that is a real person accessing the internet that you just treated like trash. I will not allow that kind of rude behavior.

Anyway, with this small main thread post, I'm going to call it for tonight. Tomorrow I have the day off, and while I might go out to the grocery store at some point, I otherwise don't have any particular plans. I expect to be on a lot earlier than today naturally; around like, five and a half hours earlier if I wake up when I intend to. Though I'll also have to go kinda early tomorrow night.

Oh, which reminds me since I forgot to earlier, my work schedule for this coming week: Bit of a rough one for me. Starts with a fairly long early shift Monday, and equally long evening shift Tuesday, a somewhat short early shift Wednesday, then a somewhat long evening shift Saturday, and another somewhat short early shift next Sunday.

So once again due to the scheduling, both Tuesday and next Saturday I'm hardly going to be online. In fact this time the Tuesday-Wednesday set up is so bad, I might not be posting that night at all because it's already gonna be hard enough on me to get a decent amount of sleep then.

Here now, fully recapped. Recapping took a while; again I feel the need to say that you guys shouldn't necessarily just be posting as soon as you have the opportunity when you have characters in a one on one conversation. Yes you're not accidentally ignoring anyone else, but you're filling the thread up with a lot of posts for the people who can't be active as much as you can to try to catch up with, which is still a bit unfair.

Anyway, I'm going to check on some other things, then see about working on a post.

Speaking of people who haven't been able to keep up...

It only took me around 54 hours to make the 900 mile drive, but I finally got into our new apartment (and timezone) Friday night! Still gotta unpack the truck (which leaves Wednesday at latest) before I can really start settling in, but I might finally be able to start doing stuff again. Kinda figured I'd miss the boss battle, and slightly bummed that the day shifted already. But actually that kind of helps for finding a jumping in point, maybe.

Skype is NOT liking the CoLC chat though because of the 10+ thousand messages I haven't looked at and have no capacity to skim. So, that's a thing... Will try and get into the chat sooner than later.

Other than T-rex dead (and what was the reward for that supposed to be again?), and something about Cole being Despair and Lewis being brainwashed, anything major I missed? We haven't done the Silanea thing yet, right? Because I was hoping to get Curly in on that.

Well, with that post I think I'll be calling it for today. I'm not going to bed yet, but like a few days ago, there's stuff I want to go run out to do and by the time I'm done with it I'll have to call it for the night anyway.

With tomorrow's shift, I'll probably be getting home about the same time I got on today, but I might need a nap, so I wouldn't necessarily expect me to be on until sometime later than I was on today.
