Can I be mature and still watch "Steven Universe"?

Coming from someone who has fetishes, I don't understand it either. Somethings just rub people the right way.

Soooo...it's been nearly 5 hours, the thread has derailed from Steven Universe to "why Rule 34 is traumatic," and I've filed "resolved thread is dead thread 150 minutes ago...This should've went in the main thread...

Part of it is maybe my fault for alluding to the cause of the infamous Baby Wars (the one sided fan war between the Vocal Minority in the SU fanbase and Bronies who are too busy arguing about which pony is the best to freaking care). It was just a small example to show what being an immature fan is.

Trust me, their were some Bronies that actually gave a shit about the baby war. I've seen em before.

I think some of those Bronies just got involve just to see shit start. I should know, I am one of those Bronies who got involve.

It was a fun shitstorm. Especially when we come up with phrases like Gemtlemen and Gembros (I think the latter is actually used in some part of the SU fandom).

Some were. Some were also actually invested in it.

By the way, is it wrong that I enjoy participating in internet arguments?

I'm disappointed that the fandom hasn't adopted "Steventhusiasts" that was a good one.

Why does this have a thread? SU already has one and this is redundant.

Generally people who don't post/lurk (or are just new) here aren't aware of how the TVT forums operate compared to other fora and just make new topics because they don't want to post in an already large thread for various reasons.

To be honest, I'm happy that this was separate from the main SU thread, though I'm unsure if the question posed was properly answered or not (especially since the direction of the thread seemed to have shifted).

So before this thread probably gets locked for either pointlessness or the R34 discussion {Which I'll get to in a minute}, I'm just going to say that watching and enjoying a cartoon does not make you immature. Anyone who tells you otherwise is probably the real immature person here. Don't feel hesitant to check out a show that interests you just because it's a kids show. There have been plenty of great cartoons, and from what I've heard Steven Universe is one of them.

As for the R34 thing, different strokes for different folks. I don't mind if someone likes that sort of thing. There's certainly no reason to get all upset about it. Now granted, there is some really, really nasty stuff out there, so I understand getting disgusted by that at least. But whatever, you just gotta do your best to ignore it if it bothers you that much, because I guarantee you'll never be able to get rid of it.
