Black Clover Manga Thread

You know, I've been criticizing this series primarily because of Asta...but it's been pretty interesting for the past few chapters.

…Well that was one hell of a Chekhov's Gun, but one I'm pretty happy with. I already liked Nero, but I feel I'm gonna like her a bit more.

Oh wow a multi-chapter flashback, damn this is a long arc.

I’m very curious what’s gonna happen next once the momentum eventually settles down & this is all resolved cause Goddamn I don’t know how the seiries is gonna top this. Pretty much the entire myth arc is slowly being answered to the point there’s gonna be barely anything left in the end.

All that’s left is possibly something about dwarves & the fucking Diamond Kingdom whcih we are barely attached too barring Mars & Fana.

I don’t blame people for saying this feels like the final arc cause it really does feel like the final arc even if it ain’t.

So I'm guessing that the giant demonic skeleton is what's left of the original Licht after mutating into a monster due to the Demon's mana.

That demon really played everyone for chumps. Is it possible that even the nobles were possessed by him (or at the very least had their own dark desires amplified beyond their usual assholery, though I'd admit I'd prefer it if that wasn't the case).

No it was Smug Nobles being smug, as their descendants show they arent any better.

Oh, I'm not saying it wasn't 80% them. Though I guess all the demon did was make sure there was nobody to stop them, or mind jack anyone who might have still be decent enough to not willingly slaughter another race (like I'm guessing happened to the King).

Secre (which autocorrects to Secure and provides some Fridge Brilliance) really embodies the readers in thinking, "a strong prince? How stuck up is this one gonna be?"

Of course, we happened to know better. The anime gives us little time to study his face as he fights what Licht became. He wasn't afraid for his life, but he wasn't thrilled to be overpowering his opponent. He probably thought he'd never see Licht again if he did this. Now we just have to find out why he never got to tell his side, or why Secre caved in and put on that little black dress.

Lumiere was a name I had hoped to use for Sailor Moon character I made up. And it's perfect for First WK since it matches both his attribute and Licht's name.

Okay good I'm not the only one who thinks it was kinda fast.

Also short, pretty short.

It was pretty speedy.

I'm honestly fine with that. A big flashback in the midst of a climactic battle is a dicey proposition at best and Tabata seems to be ensuring it won't overstay its welcome.

I really wonder where the story's gonna go after that… They've literally brought back the First Magic Emperor back to life to slay the big demon that caused everything. How do you go up from there?

Based on the way things have been paced for the last little while, I'm almost certain the answer is in fact: Nowhere.

Or to keep it in sync with your syntax: You don't.

It’s either this:

The Demon does not get killed off at the end of this arc. He escapes & heads to another kingdom to take over & then come back with a new army.

Or we focus on other kingdoms with their own problems like introduce the Spade Kingdom & shit.

Though granted this is a shonen so it’s gonna escalate & I don’t trust Black Clover not too.

So basically "Hah, there are multiple demons escaping from hell into this world!" type of escalation trope?

He gets eaten by a higher tier demon.

Or Orcs appear from the east, curbstomp the demon, and he is forced into servitude of a Lord Sauron equivalent.

And since those were Lo TR equivalent of Fallen Angel well...

Note this is making a distinction between a demon and Fallen Angels. Which a lot of series also do with Fallen Angels being a specific type of demon. Or just a different flavor of Angel.

So, I've been thinking: Is it just me, or is the scene where Vanessa's Red Thread of Fate reverses the deaths of Noelle and Finral at the end of the Forest of Witches arc similar to Doctor Strange (2016)?

Vaguely. If you squint. The circumstances, methods and context are all completely different though.

How about, the demon's stronger this time, and the First Wizard King is no match for him now?

New chapter:

Licht is back. And the fight is still going.

Seems like the moment that's been a long time coming is upon us. Next week Asta will probably unlock his full demon transformation and the full power of his anti-magic swords.

We'll see if that's a good thing or not however.
