Lucina hang back and begin charging Aether, while Samsara opts to try and intercept attacks on her behalf for later.

"Oh? Care to explain what this something might be, Fahliil Lokaliin? Provided you can do so while we fight off this behemoth, of course."

Arvak charges towards the Nergigante once more, and Viserys goes for another ride-by slash with the Infinity Sword, hoping to attack it in tandem with Awkeff.

The Spartan blasts a strong blast towards the beasts face with his newfound information. Joshua slid back two feet from the force of the shot, hoping to critically injure the beast from the beginning.

Awkeff participates in the attack. "Remember how the Infinity Sword gains power from its wielder taking fire damage? Well, under the right conditions, Tenebrae with its new enhancement does something similar... but with any form of damage. It has to be a certain time of day, though."

Continuing to be assaulted, Ruiner Nergigante smashes its head into the ground and rakes upward, breaking off some spikes on its forehead and launching them at Arvak. Without delay, it then suddenly slams an arm-like foreleg into the ground and scrapes in a horizontal arc, sweeping its claw at Samsara and Joshua.

Reyna gains some phial charges from whaling on Ruiner Nergigante. She pauses to store the charges.

Samsara parry the attack but its so strong that she's sent sprawling on her back anyway, being pretty much knocked out for the turn, if only temporarily.

Seeing this, Lucina perform a furious attack with Aether's first strike, and goes for the second one!

The blackness of the dimension began to fade, replaced by a dimly light gray landscape. It was lifeless, without color or feeling. At least there was something tangible, a physical appearance to the realm. While it still may be barren, there were was indeed the spark of old life returning.

Joshua was caught by the swiping claws, and thrown backwards. He landed on his back, and grunted briefly. He quickly stood back up, his clunky and heavy armor were certainly slowing him down. The spartan fires again, with 3 short bursts of plasma energy aimed for the beast's back.

"Really? Well, if it is that time of day, you need only say the word and I'll happily feed Tenebrae an attack for you, dear."

Viserys begins deflecting the spikes aimed at Arvak with the Infinity Sword, right up until one manages to embed itself in his shoulder.

"Argh!"

He quickly launches a Thunderbolt at the Nergigante in retaliation.

Some spikes on Ruiner Nergi's back get blasted off. Aether chips off bits of its horns.

Ruiner Nergigante rears up and smashes its left wing into the ground - said wing happening to have larger spikes than the right wing. It then stomps sideways wing-first towards Reyna like a man doing a shoulder tackle, breaking off its wingspikes and blasting them off in every which way as it moves.

"Oh crap." Reyna sheathes her Charge Blade and dives for safety.

"If it's not dawn or dusk, it should work just fine," Awkeff notes.

The Spartan's HUD lit up, predicting the trajectories of each spike. This allowed him to easily maneuver himself around them, not taking any damage from them.

"Thanks Dot."

He fired once more at the beasts back, this time a steady strong stream aimed to blast off more spikes.

From the Lake that contained the souls of the dead, came forth a soul black as the void that once had consumed the dimension. This soul then began to draw in thousands of others into itself starting small but growing larger and as timed progressed it would sink back into the Lake and emerge as a black mist that slid under the already gray mist of the Lake and materialized into a hooded figure whose robes matched the very mist from which he came.

   The Harbinger awakens.   

Lucina is driven back and deflect the spikes for Samsara. Both cannot act as a result this turn.

"It doesn't appear to be either right now, so... Let's give it a shot!"

Arvak leaps to avoid a fresh barrage of spikes. Unfortunately, several other projectiles manage to find their mark and take the undead horse out of commission, causing it to disappear.

"Oh, for Kyne's sake!"

Viserys hits the ground with a thud, grunting in pain upon impact. Nonetheless, he reaches out to catch Awkeff, if necessary, before blasting Tenebrae's ebony blade with a fireball.

Awkeff takes the impact of the fireball, as well as an errant thorn, causing Tenebrae to begin emitting a strange grayish light. She lands on her feet and steps to the side as she does a horizontal power attack, slicing open space and launching a barrage of reality-shards at Ruiner Nergigante (much like this).

Suddenly, upon getting hit by the projectile attacks, Ruiner Nergigante stumbles. It lets out a dying wail, then collapses.

Reyna looks on in surprise and bewilderment.

And then the Old Everwyrm's song rings out. This time, however, it's so loud that it sounds like musical shrieking, with an earthquake to accompany it.

"Oh crap... Everyone, brace yourselves!"

Awkeff, struggling to move correctly due to the earthquake, manages to pull out and drink a potion, sprouting dragon wings.

SOMETHING◊ emerges from beneath the earth. It's hard to make out what exactly it is due to the dirt, sand and rock exploding all around it. With... tendrils? Arms? It's hard to tell because of the rock-monster aesthetic - it seems to engulf Ruiner Nergigante's body and drag it beneath the battleground.

And then the whole fucking thing crumbles under their feet, sending them plummeting towards another battlefield far below.

Awkeff, now flying, swoops down to catch Viserys in a bear hug.

As they fall, Reyna fires her grappling hook at the largest chunk of what used to be a floor that she can find. As she rappels towards it, she attempts to grab Lucina.

Hearing the Old Everwyrm's cry for the last time, Rey decides he's fed up with that thing in particular and begins planning to set off... though not without certain preparations first.

Kardas roars in agony as more and more of its dark essence is dispersed. It's now thrashing about, trying indiscriminately to strike anyone within the long reach of its jaws, tail and claws. All of its attacks carry the dark infection with them.

In the meantime, its maw begins glowing again as another energy discharge builds up.

Lucina and Samsara are both surprised by the seeming death of the Nergigante, and the appearance of a new monster! However, their shocked is short-lived, for the ground promptly collapse under them!

Lucina is caught by Reyna, and grab unto Samsara to try and save her too!

As the Nergigante perishes, Viserys manages to pull himself back up... just in time to be sent plummeting as the ground beneath his feet is straight-up destroyed by the new monster. Fortunately, Awkeff successfully catches him in a bear hug, prompting the Nord Dovahkiin to flash a grin at his wife.

"Heh... I'd kiss you, Fahliil Lokaliin, but I've a feeling we should save that for after we've slain this monster."

Joshua falls into the hole, twirling through the air as he fell. He managed to get the Gauss cannon back on his back, locking into place and bracing himself for impact with armor lock.

"Right you are, Bron Lokaliin."

The party lands on the ground below. Viserys and Awkeff gracefully, the others... less so, but everyone is still in one piece.

From the Rumblings Come a Song

The Old Everwyrm now stands before the party in full, letting them all get a good◊ look at◊ its ugly mug.◊

Also holy fuck you could park a car under it and have room.

"It's the same body type as Xeno'jiiva..." Reyna observes. "But those... not-wings... This bastard is definitely the Old Everwyrm."

As Awkeff lets go of Viserys and draws Tenebrae once more, she says half-jokingly, "It had better meet expectations."

Then the Old Everwyrm flexes its 'wings' to drape over it and smashes its rocky wingtips down upon the party, forcing immediate evasive maneuvers!

As Reyna dives out of the way of SMASH, she yells to Joshua, "Armored guy, what's your name!?"

Taking evasive action, Viserys moves to take Awkeff's hand and pull her away from the Everwyrm's descending wing, then retaliates by launching a fire blast at the stony behemoth with a mighty horizontal swing of the Infinity Sword.

"I swear to Talos, if it transforms into a humanoid form halfway through the battle..."

Ninten tries to dodge, but the remaining pain that had been suppressed by his adrenaline kicks in all at once, making him flinch and wince, and causing him to get smacked by Kardas' tail, hitting the wall next to Lloyd and Guts Man.

"Ninten!", Lloyd calls out in a panic, to which the other boy can only answer with dazed mumbling, unable to get up immediately.

"Oh no, oh no, oh no..."

He quickly finishes with his work on Guts Man, hoping that it was enough to reactivate him. Then he immediately grabs Ninten's backpack, taking the ocarina out. He still doesn't think him playing it would be as effective as Ninten's singing, but in their current situation, he doesn't have the luxury of doubting himself.

He brings it to his mouth and starts to play it, trying his best to finish the full chorus before Kardas has the chance to wipe them out.

The Spartan dived out of the way as well, shouting back to the hunter

Joshua stood back up, his AI companion attempting another deep scan on their new opponent. He pulled the cannon from his back, attempting a wild shot at one of its wings.

Kubi takes quite the licking from Kardas. However, he figures the others are trying to do something and it would be best not to potentially screw them over, so he refrains from retaliating.

Mata Nui (I didn't forget he was here go away) deflects the strikes with his shield, though one catches him across the knee.

Lucina and Samsara leap aside to dodge the wing smash, being successful in doing so.

The Old Everwyrm lifts its wings up only to smash them down again, but this time it goes stampeding forward, trying to bulldoze everything in its path. It only stops upon colliding with the cliff face across the battlefield from it.

Reyna dives out of the way of the Old Everwyrm's attack. "Okay, anyone who can aim high, go for the back and wings! Everyone else, target the face and chest! We gotta smash as much rock as possible!" She fires her Clutch Claw at the Old Everwyrm, trying to grapple onto its underside.

Awkeff is saved from the first attack, but the second plows her into the dirt. She wastes no time in soaring back up and into the air, following Reyna's guidance by launching another charged-up horizontal power attack with Tenebrae at the Old Everwyrm's back.
