Letting out a weak groan, Kefla, having reverted back to her base form and being very badly wounded, slowly gets out of some rubble.

"God... damnit... my head... "what just..."

She tries to get up, but almost falls back down, barely able to stand.

"Crap, that long-haired coward really did a number on me... I should get out of..."

She pauses, then looks around to find herself all alone.

"That pink thing is gone... did it die? We never got to finish our fight."

She tries to fly, but doesn't have the energy for it. As such, she starts stumbling around, eventually noticing the portal she'd first came through.

"The way out..."

Weakly, she makes her way over towards the portal.

Emelyn just goes quiet during it all. After a little while, William speaks up.

"We really just want to win for once. Even if it's not forever, just once is enough.", he says. "We both understand what we're in for by doing this, but..."

He sighs.

"Even if we did try to do everything you suggest, it'd probably take us all our lives to get anywhere."

Weber, meanwhile, blinks at Shadow, though keeps grinning.

   "Why would I want to fight someone who can probably obliterate me with his pinky? I'd rather not get needlessly hurt."   

He then gives Shadow some space.

   "Besides, it's against Pseudo's rules to fight inside the base, so neither of us can go against our promise to behave."   

He floats around Shadow a bit.

   "Fat chance, deity. Pseudo wants to have as much defensive options as possible. I doubt he'll be lenient on this matter, at least not until the Assassins are gone. Which, incidentally, is when his deal with Jr expires, so once they're gone, we'll likely go back home."   

He then raises both his hands defensively, yet his mocking grin remains.

   "But these two have nothing to give me anymore. They already gave up their belongings after the first Contract. I don't get a penny from giving them new ones. I give them new Contracts because they're efficient Darkings."   

Then he laughs.

   "If it's okay for children to go out and risk their lives fighting demons like Rico Jr, with the human king's full consent, then they're practically child soldiers already, fighting his battles for him with the vague promise of wealth and fortune. Don't single me out because I'm evil. Maybe you're still mad because I didn't give those two desperate boys Contracts when they begged me for it? It wouldn't have worked out, they weren't human. Who knows how they'd have reacted to the powers of darkness. You should be happy I turned them down."   

He then floats above Emelyn and William, putting one hand on each head, causing the both of them to look a little nervous. His grin, still directed towards Shadow, turns darker.

   "These two children willingly signed my Contract then, and have always willingly signed it afterwards. If they don't want to sign anymore, then that's their good right, but I will find replacements, regardless of if they're weaker. But I don't think I'll have to, not right now. These two both have their reasons for being here, and the Darklings are a part of this organization whether you like it or not. And I'll be the ones providing their powers, and that's why I'm here. Why Pseudo lets me stay here."   

His eyes darken quite literally, giving away for total darkness, making his eyes look like an endless abyss.

   "Pseudo will let me keep them. Rico Jr will let me keep them. They themselves go through this willingly. These two are mine, deity. Mine. Until the day they themselves give up on wanting power."   

Taking his hands off of them, he snaps his fingers, making two Contracts appear in front of the two.

   "Go sign that in another room. I'd rather not want needless interruptions."   

Emelyn takes the Contract pretty much immediately, but to William's surprise, and maybe Shadow's too, she actually looks thoughtful and hesitant for a moment. She still walks away with it, which means she'll become a Darkling again, but it's clear that Shadow's words weren't completely lost on her. There's a chance that, someday, they'll pay off.

William looks at Emelyn as she goes before he does too, and Shadow may realize that William isn't going along with this for his own desires, as much as he may want money and power too. His real reason is because he's trying to look after Emelyn. Which means that, if Emelyn gets convinced one day, William will most likely follow. In order to save the two Darklings, he'd only have to convince one, and while it may not be for now, there's hope it will be for later, after the Assassins have been dealt with.

Weber's eyes turn back to normal, and smirks.

   "We despise each other, I know. But as much as you'd rather believe I have ulterior motives in the end, I am only trying to serve my overlord. Who is aiding Pseudo in his battle. As long as that battle lasts, I think it would be better for everyone if we didn't antagonize each other needlessly. Don't worry, I won't ask you to shake my hand. But I will ask for us to bury the hatchet. Let's focus on the bigger threat. What do you say?"

Hey ! Don't go for mom ! says Goku, after deflecting the Death Beams. He attempts to plow through the Metal Cooler with a kick so strong, it creates an intense shockwave afterwards, threatening to hit his enemies. If he succeed, he attempts to head for his parents.

NLA: Cows Outgunned

The T-Doll stops in it's tracks.

   "Defense Force member within 50 feet. Conservation compromised; Activating backup protocol."   

That's when two things happened simultaneously: Star Platinum knocked the SCOUT into Lucina, and 5 GUNNER T-Dolls surrounded Lucina and the two Jotaros in a 5-point star formation.

   "Distress signal recognized; Engaging targets.   

Three points of the star opened fire with machine guns on it's wrists; two fired missiles at the trio.

Meanwhile...

NLA Alleyway: Confrontation?

The SCOUT had backed out for now, and was scanning for more potential threats. If there were none, it would return to the field of battle.

Bowser's Castle: A Disturbance

"Sir! Sir!"

"A large mass of energy has gathered around that arena that went up a while back! Shall we investigate?"

The Red and Blue Koopa Bros. approached Bowser, alerting him to the energy from the battle.

"I'm not gonna have you get hurt. Is Vegito still here?"

"No! He said he sensed something, and that he was going to have some fun, before leaving!"

"Then he's already on it."

Rhea's Arena: Power Of A God

Right as rain, Vegito arrives, slicing through multiple Metal Coolers with his Spirit Sword.

"Man, parking is just HORRIBLE in this part of town!"

Lucina is about to move fast enough to deflect the bullets but the missiles are a surprise to her and she get pushed backward after failing to calculate the explosion's radius.

However, she doesn't let herself slowed down by this, and attempts to clean one of the dolls clean in half with her sword after dashing up towards it.

"Good grief..."

DF!Jotaro summons Star Platinum: The World and steps towards the fray.

One Metal Cooler is defeated, but the others keep coming at Goku, trying to swarm and overwhelm him.

When Vegito shows up, they initially panic... before one Metal Cooler fires a blast to get his attention, then makes a beckoning gesture to him.

"Rrgh... No, Kakarot! I said I'd take these three!"

One of Bardock's Metal Coolers throws a Supernova Cooler at him, and he's engulfed helplessly, screaming.

He sees a vision of Goku with Ultra Instinct, fighting what appear to be Golden Cooler with cyborg implants, Perfect Cell, and Android 21 inside the Big Gete Star. That form... it's not even physically present, but I can feel its heat. This will be it... Kakarot will be...!

The vision suddenly snaps to Bardock's hand clutching his bandanna, soaked red with Tora's blood.

"NEVER!" The Supernova sphere explodes, and Bardock is still standing - in almost the exact same head-down, fists-clenched posture Goku had when he first turned Super Saiyan.

"I... will avenge my comrades. Was I supposed to die? Well, to hell with that! I and I ALONE will fulfill this duty! And you won't stand in my way!" Bardock swipes a hand across his bandanna and turns Super Saiyan, punching a hole through the Metal Cooler that had attacked him.

It starts reconstructing around his arm, wires and cables digging into Bardock's arm and trying to either crush his bones or absorb his energy - or both. Either way, he starts screaming again.

"You like that, Bardock? It took two Super Saiyans working in near-perfect sync to defeat one of me! And your base form is far below theirs."

Bardock grunts and gasps... but then chuckles. "You think that's it? Let's see what happens when Great Ape and Super Saiyan combine. Then I'll show you what I'm really made of!"

"Hmph. Go ahead." The Metal Cooler's wires pull out of Bardock's arm as he steps away, finishing his regeneration.

Bardock creates a Power Ball in his hand and throws it up into the air.

Jotaro's eyes widen as the 5 GUNNER Dolls surround him and open fire.

"STAR PLATINUM: THE WORLD!"

For everyone other than his alternate self, Jotaro seems to teleport behind one of the GUNNER Dolls and Star Platinum unleashes a barrage of punches towards it.

   ORAORAORAORAORAORA! ORAAAA!   

For the other Jotaro, time will stop as Jotaro swiftly rushes behind one of the Dolls, time resumes, and he unleashes his barrage of punches.

Haha, wow ! You're a Super-Saiyan !

Now excited, Goku powers up to blue and turns around, glaring at the army !

I'm not too fond of group fights you know ? So let's thin out ! Yah ! he says, tossing a Kamehameha !

The Power Ball activates high in the sky. Bardock takes off his Scouter and hands it to Rhea as his tail uncoils itself from around his waist.

"Sozo." Rhea forms a barrier of Katchin around Gine so she won't be affected.

Everyone in the area will be able to hear Bardock's heart pumping as he pants, grunts, and gets bigger.

The golden hair of Super Saiyan seemingly melts into his developing Great Ape fur, turning it yellow.

And when the transformation finishes, Bardock has turned into a Golden Great Ape.

Two more things I'm stealing from other materials for Bardock. From Xenoverse, I'm taking the idea that he's capable of self-control as a Great Ape - in the extra postgame storyline, he and Broly end up on Earth immediately after the Namek Saga (long story), Bardock finds Vegeta and gets him to create a Power Ball, and then joins the fight as a Great Ape only targeting Broly, thus meaning he's allied with the player character. Furthermore, before entering the fight, he destroys the Power Ball specifically to prevent Broly from transforming; and after the fight, he loses his Great Ape form due to his injuries but remains conscious and aware of what happened before he completely collapses, like Vegeta when his tail was severed.

From Rbade's fanfic, Dragon Ball: Seventh Apocalypse, the power multiplier - the x10 of Great Ape multiplied by the x50 of Super Saiyan to make x500 for Golden Great Ape.

Bardock looks down at the Katchin barrier around Gine. Then he slams a palm down on the center of the Metal Cooler army, forcing them to disperse.

However, Bardock's meager-by-comparison base power means he may be unable to maintain this form for very long...

There is still a single Metal Cooler waiting for Vegito to come to him...

The Devourer fired a giant beam of Godslayer flames into one of her rifts, from which it quickly emerged, in the form of several smaller beams aimed at *all* the Spirits.

Storm Weaver jumped sideways to avoid the stab before dashing to fist-range, unleashing a truly absurd amount of near-lightspeed punches at the Spirit. Once he had retreated to a safe distance afterwards, it would become apparent that Storm Weaver's arms were, in fact, on fire. Literally.

A golden great ape ?!

Blue Goku leaps into the fray and begins attacking the army with a wild charge !

Noctilum

"Sense anything yet?" Nebula/Corona quizzed as she sat in a tree eating a piece of fruit while watching her partner doing his "sense" thing.

With a sigh, Miles shook his head, "Nope, still nothing...I swear, I'm starting to think either somebody is blocking Meta Knight's life energy, or he's not even here anymore." He and his alien friends had been spending time tracking down Meta Knight's whereabouts but as can be seen, it hadn't been going too well.

"Well, take five before you try again. If he's as tough as we think he is, he'll live long enough for us to find him." She tossed a piece of fruit to him which he caught in a sphere of energy before heading over to sit under the tree's shade.

With a tiny burst of heat, a little scarlet flame appeared in front of Miles. It quickly expanded, becoming a small portal from which a Grimmkin Novice emerged, carrying a black envelope with a red wax seal, emblazoned with a Seal of Binding, which it held out to him.

After being hit by multiple lasers, Okka grunts, charges at the laser-shooting fox and unleashes a tremendous punch, a fiery aura surrounding her fist from the sheer friction of the air. If this attack connects, the spirit is almost guaranteed to be sent flying straight into the stratosphere.

Mai does not spare a look back to Yamcha, instead continuing on her merry way in the same direction she saw the others leave.

Miles blinked in surprise and tilted his head, "Huh...nice entrance," He then noticed the envelope, "For us? Uh, thanks..." He gently took the note and handed the fruit over to him in exchange, "Can't send you on your way without something, right?"

The Grimmkin merely nodded and retreated back into the portal, which closed moments later, leaving Miles and Nebula alone with the letter. Closer inspection of the Seal pressed into the wax would quickly make evident that it can only be opened by the sender of the letter, and the intended recipient of it. In this case, that recipient was Miles.

Nebula jumped down beside him, "That seal on it seems to indicate it must be pretty important."

"Yeah...guess we should open it up and find out what Lord Grimm needs." Miles then indeed undo the seal and open the envelope.

The letter inside was similarly black, written in elegant handwriting in bright red ink.

   I will allow myself to skip the formalities, for this one letter. I believe the Knight may have gotten himself into danger, yet again. He visited me a few days ago, and said he was going to follow the mysterious visitor you had in the city the other day, then left after receiving a small parting gift. I have not heard from him since, despite the fact that he should, by all means, be back now. Since the two of you were in Noctilum, the place he said he was going, I thought you two could help me out again, by finding him.

Spiralblock Revisited

Simon gets hit by too much at once and collapses... then his body turns into an inert trophy.

The one floating and throwing energy blasts is still seemingly immune to damage. The rest are summarily wiped the fuck out.

Ninetails comes back together, with only two tails now.    "Damn... you're actually putting up a fight."   

He starts swinging his sword in massive sweeping arcs over the platform.

Arale goes over to Kefla and tries to help her get to the portal.

Cauldros

The Metal Coolers continue their assault on Goku, punching, kicking, making the ground beneath him explode...

Two Metal Coolers suddenly break away and attack Rhea, blindsiding her. They fly off to a distance within sight but still away from the other fights.

Bardock slams his hand down on one of the Metal Coolers, picks it up, and unleashes a surprisingly fast barrage of rapid-fire punches that are just meaty enough to tear it apart. He vaporizes the remains with a mouth energy wave.

One Metal Cooler fires Death Beams into Bardock's eyes, making him reel back and groan while clutching his head.

"Bardock! No!" Gine runs out of the shelter Rhea had made, towards the Golden Great Ape...

And then the other Metal Cooler tackles her out of nowhere, straddling her as he keeps her pinned to the floor. He cups a hand over her mouth.

Despite his injured eyes, Bardock manages to catch a glimpse of the scene, and he immediately throws a gigantic kick at the offending Metal Cooler.

When she sees Arale coming, she's definitely somewhat wary and confused, not letting herselg get helped just yet.

"Little Ghost got himself into trouble again?" Nebula commented as she eyed the note over her friend's shoulder, "Maybe we should consider putting a bell on him or something?"

Miles frowned and folded up the note before pocketing it. "Let's not take any chances and find him as soon as possible. Whoever that person was there's a chance they hurt him...and if they have..." His hand crackled with green electricity as he took off into the sky with his friends in pursuit as he flew over the trees, checking for any signs of the knight's life energy.

Goku sees Gine being attacked and decide to get serious, standing still and taking an attack straight to the face... and then turning his head right back in to stare at the offender, unscathed.

Powering up, he creates a wide, blue explosion around himself to attempts to blow the Metal Coolers to hell !

I've known her for a few minutes but she's my mom ! Back off ! he says, attempting to punch the offending Metal Cooler away with a... well it's obvious !

Mjolnir unleashes a massive arc of lightning at Twotails, attempting to pin it down that way while Thor muscles through the swords and attempts to bodyslam into the fox. Bokuko and Dres unleashes attacks on their own, with Bokuko throwing her rasengan as Dres lights it up with a quick Raiton spell.

Rhea crushes the heads of the Metal Coolers fighting her and obliterates the bodies with a two-handed energy blast.

A great number of Metal Coolers are wiped out by Goku, but it seems like they just keep coming.

The one attacking Gine gets sent flying by Goku's punch and smashed to tiny bits by Bardock's foot.

Metal Coolers (total): 24

Bardock scoops up Gine in one hand - only to suddenly drop her as he roars in pain.

Rhea catches Gine.

Bardock clutches his head, staggering back and howling.

"Bardock! You can't sustain the Great Ape form with Super Saiyan! Drop it or you'll tear yourself apart! Please!"

   "G-GINE... NO... NO...! I... CAN'T..."   

The Golden Great Ape's body fills with light, making all the Metal Coolers pause and watch as Rhea starts flying away from him with Gine in her arms.

Goku look on, confused and admittedly worried.

Quick ! Focus on your energy ! Don't let it tear your body apart !

The thundering heartbeat returns.

Rhea senses Bardock's power not dwindling, but further increasing. Goku might also sense this.

   "K-KAKAROT... AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGH! RHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"   

Light and heat explode outward like a Super Explosive Wave, engulfing Bardock and a few of the surrounding Metal Coolers.

   "KAKAROT... Thank you."   

When the smoke clears, Bardock is kneeling in the middle of the fighting stage, no longer a Golden Great Ape.

And yet, he's not back to normal. His form has changed again.

Super Saiyan 4 Bardock

Power Level: 40,000,000

Bardock looks himself over. He picks up his somehow-not-destroyed Scouter and puts it back on his ear. He looks at Gine, who's staring back at him with a mixture of wonder, admiration, and horror.

Then he looks at Goku.

And he smiles, before dismissively tossing aside a Riot Javelin that hits a Metal Cooler square in the chest and explodes, wiping it out.

The Primal Warrior's Spirit Embodied

"Show off some moves on the rest of these steel-plated punks, Kakarot. Power isn't useful without technique. What was that blue energy wave you fired earlier?"

Wow ! That's a brand new form of Super Saiyan ! says Goku, looking impressed, confused and weirded out.

Huh, that was the Kamehameha but I've got this as well ! says Goku, creating several kienzans and throwing them out.
