"I c-can't find any police officers either.", he says, some sobs getting in the way of his talking. "I've been walking for hours now, and... and I..."

He rubs one of his eyes for a moment.

"All I know is that the h-hotel has a blue roof, but I'm short and I don't have good eyes. I usually wear glasses, but I lost them when I ran a-and I didn't dare to turn back."

He tries to show a smile, and it's clear that he's desperately trying to stay positive, but that it's not working well.

"Y-you're much taller than me. C-can you maybe s-see the roofs of the hotels here?"

Rumia gets ensnared by one of the sticky projectiles for a moment, but with Ridley attacking Sonic and thus being unable to capitalize on it, she is able to break free by turning into dark smoke, causing the bonds to simply fall to the ground. More of the black arms emerge from the ground, but instead of attacking the invulnerable Ridley, they focus on passing the pieces of the annihilated Queen and her spawn to Pew-Pew, as she figures he'll be able to make the best usage of them.

Speedeye perks up, and then majestically rears up.

"This is my chance! I can be a hero, just like Deadpool!"

"Sure, uh, kid! Seeing things is my things!"

He stares off into the distance, looking for this hotel and very.

Despite the fact that this would, theoretically, be the best time to go for the theft, the boy doesn't do anything yet.

Speedeye will eventually be able to see that one of the hotels does indeed have a blue roof.

"C-can you see it?", he asks, sounding a little hopeful, but still distraught enough that his desperation is clearly audible.

Having not yet noticed Mani, Nicole continues her shadowboxing routine, which culminates in her letting out a fierce yell before performing a final strike.

"Alright... that seems like a decent-enough stopping point."

After walking over to the lake, she takes a seat, then splashes her face with a handful of water to help her cool off.

"Erm, yeah!"

He points, then looks down at the kid.

"Is that the one?"

He squints his eyes, then starts looking more uneasy.

"I don't know, I-I can't see that far without my glasses."

He looks up at the man.

"C-could you pick me up? Maybe that'll be enough."

"That was pretty cool!", Mani says from right behind Nicole the moment she's splashing her face.

The man looks rather uncomfortable with the idea of picking up a random kid in the middle of a crowd.

"Errrr…"

"You sure you don't want me to just run and get a cop?"

He looks around a mite nervously.

Since Sonic is using a mount and not running around on-foot, Maelstrom Ridley's tail is able to hit him.

He gets stabbed and falls off the Charizard, crumpling to the ground.

"Oh no!" Paintra immediately runs over to Sonic.

Maelstrom Ridley's tail does not get stuck in the rock as Sonic had hoped it would. He immediately moves to point his tail at the incoming stalagmites, then swats them away.

Two more Spiderlings get smashed by the Hydro Pump and Rouge's attack. The remaining three skitter over to Ridley and form up around him.

Mr. Pew Pew sees what has happened and dons the Hypno Goggles. He makes a dramatic gesture, throwing his upper body forward (not literally) at the enemies to make them look at him.

The Hypno Goggles will take effect next round, as long as nobody does anything this round to distract the Maelstrom monsters from Mr. Pew Pew.

Caught by surprise, Nicole almost immediately wheels around to face Mani with one hand grasping the hilt of her Noxian dagger, though she visibly relaxes upon noticing that her unfamiliar surprise guest didn't appear to be hostile.

"Jesus, kid, nearly gave me a friggin' heart attack... Where'd you even come from, anyway?"

Suddenly getting even more frightened and breathing heavily because of it, he holds Speedeye by his sleeve, looking terrified enough that he might get a panic attack if he becomes even more scared.

"N-no, please! D-don't leave me alone! I-I'll really do anything you want if that's what you want!", he downright begs.

Mani doesn't seem to be startled by Nicole's (appropriate) reaction, and just smiles.

"I was meditating nearby and heard you training, so I watched."

Other people are starting to stare. An amoeba like entity raises a facial pseudopod.

"K-kid, you ain't gonna be alone. You, uh, the cops'll take care of you?"

The kid is starting the question this style of thievery.

"No!!" Miles could only stare in shock and a bit of horror at seeing one of his childhood icons getting struck. He forgot everything else and rushed to his side as well, "Come on, Sonic. Stay with us, buddy..." He looked up to Paintra, "Can you draw him like a Maxim Tomato or something? I'll keep you shielded."

He wanted to demolish Ridley so badly but he/she also knew that blind anger would only make things worse so she trusted in Mr Pew Pew and threw up a barrier around the three of them.

"Okay... then why'd you teleport behind me like that instead of just walking over?" Nicole inquires, raising an eyebrow.

He seems to be trying to calm down, but he's having a hard time doing so.

"I-I really didn't see any police officers, I..."

He sniffs, then seems to stop crying, looking completely hopeless, like he's stopped believing altogether that he'll find his mom or that hotel.

"I-I'm sorry. I'm being a bother.", he says, trying to sound as composed as possible. "I-I'm wasting your time. I should go away..."

"I did walk.", she says, still smiling.

"Darn it, kid, just... walk that way, at least? Towards the hotel?"

Most of the passerby turn their attention away. 11

There's a sudden, slight glimmer of hope in his eyes as he looks up at Speedeye.

"W-wait, did-did you see it? The hotel?", he asks somewhat rapidly.

"Could've fooled me. I didn't even hear your damn footsteps," Nicole replies. "So... who exactly are you, girl?"

"...Yes."

He points.

"That one."

The kid gets bored and tears into a single chip.

After Speedeye points in the direction of the hotel, the boy immediately goes to give him a hug.

"T-thank you, thank you so much! If I go there, everything should be alright again!"

Yet again, this would seem like the perfect setup to quickly snatch something from Speedeye, but if the child looks, he'll see that the boy isn't moving his hands anywhere near any pockets.

After the hug, the boy starts running in the direction Speedeye pointed in.

"I'll never forget you, mister!", he yells to Speedeye as he eventually turns past the corner of the street.

"My name is Mani. I've been exploring this world for some time now.", she cheerfully says. "What about you, what's your name?"

"... Sure, okay."

Speedeye plops onto the bench and sighs.

The kid facepalms, and skills after him.

He peeks around the corner.

Rumia looks blankly at Mr. Pew-Pew. She doesn't know what he's about to do, but he seems like he wanted to draw the creatures' attention badly for some reason. She has no idea why, but she doesn't interfere, although she keeps an eye on both him (in case it goes wrong) and her moon (still shining near the ceiling of the cave).

He'll find that the boy is gone. In fact, if he looks back at the alleyway they just came from, he'll see him over there, gesturing for the child to come back, standing at a point where Speedeye can't see him from where he is.

He pops back over.

"Gee whiz! Are you, like, a wizard or something?"

"Helluva place, isn't it? Anyway, Mani, just call me Nicole," Nicole says, running a hand through her hair.

Mani might remember that Nicole was among those who fought against Groudon and Kyogre, assuming she managed to notice her in all the action.
