"Sh-Shut it! I said no lectures!"

She crosses her arms, fuming.

"I'm still getting used to it! Auntie Elana had the same problem when she got her draconic powers too! The younger you get them, the harder they are to control!"

New Los Angeles

"Yeah, figured." Tobias cups his hands on either side of himself, as if holding a pair of lances, while more kinetic energy builds up. He then throws the pair of small but very fast projectiles at Jam, similar to the previous kinetic attacks but more concentrated on direct damage than sending her flying. If the energy drain is still affecting her, the projectiles might 'detonate' the effect, causing additional internal damage.

"I have two homeworlds, Knossos and Hestia. The latter's actually a really nice place - if you get in, at least. Knossos is kind of a shithole, but I'm trying to convince some of the people from Hestia to start sending relief aid."

"Nice of ya to try and send help to Knossos ! I was born in a nice little village myself, not very fun but I had a loving family and that's all I ask. Which one is more of your homeworld, if I can put it that way ?"

"Huh... Hit ? That guy has an original name. What can he exactly do to take them down ?" she asks, curious. "Some kind of durability ignoring super-"

She notice the chains and smiles cautiously, turning around and trying to find the source. "Honey, is that ya ? Tap me on the head for yes, on the back for no... even if it makes no sense since it's you but heh."

"Hmm, odd girl." she says, looking at Oca. "We'll need to deal with this."

Jam looks like she's about to get hit but then deploy inhuman speed to dodge all of a sudden, before making a quick dash to try to hit him in the chest.

"Hic !"

The sister is now acting drunk, causing her to stumble a bit, tip-toing... and then promptly kicking at him multiple times in a erratic yet fast motion.

"Yeah, I'm sure they'll be important… eventually."

"Right now, though, we should focus on getting more of these."

He shakes the ball.

"Im gonna go ask Neuff if she's seen any lying around. You wanna come?"

Zelerie Junior eats some grass.

"Forgive me for trying to help you, then, Theresa."

Erik puts his hands in his pockets.

"And perhaps you should consider asking, say... your parents, or Aunt Nicole and Uncle Ilium for help with rectifying this problem."

"She's probably just going respond with something along the lines of 'no, shut up, I can do this all by myself,' though..."

"If I'm remembering things correctly, at least one of his powers has something to do with time. You'll have ask either Frost or the man himself to know everything he can do. But trust me, he's definitely the right guy for this kinda job."

Nicole briefly watches as Jam utilizes her drunken boxing-esque style of fighting, remembering how she'd used it against her in their sparring match, then blinks upon feeling what felt like cold steel passing by her legs. Looking down, a knowing smirk forms on her face when she spots the chains.

"Y'know, Demo, there's nothing wrong with popping in and saying hi to us."

Neuff'll then actually be able to feel a tap on her head, and if she looks up, she'll be able to see Demo dangling above her upside down, chains wrapped around his legs and connected to the nearest building.

"Hey sugar~", he says to Neuff.

He then looks at Nicole, still hanging upside down.

"Well, I could, but that'd be too dull."

"I don't need help! I can take care of myself!"

She's angry now, one can almost imagine smoke comically coming out of her ears.

"I'll prove it by handling it myself."

New Los Angeles

"I grew up in Knossos, raised in an orphanage until I was 7, then I was taken in by a lovely businesswoman with a bunch of other children who turned out to be a friend of my adoptive father and also runs a significant chunk of the colony's black market." Tobias says matter-of-factly. He does notice Marie, but is too busy to say hi to her. "I got off the planet when I was 17, and I've stayed in Hestia ever since I moved there. Well, when I'm not travelling, that is. Which is often."

Tobias is surprised when Jam finally breaks out her super-speed, but not unpleasantly so. "There it is, the trademark-" He's cut off by her imminent attack, and barely manages to parry her, disadvantaged in both strength and speed. A bluish kinetic aura combines with the icy one around him, and he manages to block most of her kicks with the help of kinetic barriers, but he loses ground quickly. One of them hits him square, sending him flying back several meters and skidding along the ground.

"Heh... Nice." He starts to get up with a pained groan, showing noticeable damage on his armor and a patch of blue-tinted skin on his neck underneath.

"There goes leisurely poking her with psionic projectiles." An electronic-sounding voice remarks sarcastically, telepathically projecting to the others present.

"Well, we're getting into the good part, then. Mind helping me out a bit?" He replies, taking a moment to take off his armor. "I really should get a set that can properly combine soon." He remarks, gradually revealing his appearance over his long-sleeved undersuit. He looks mostly human with dark chocolate hair and a particularly broad & stocky build, but he has blue-tinted skin and what appear to be ivory-colored scales creeping up the back of his hands, neck and over his cheekbones, and a pair of short, stubby horns on his forehead.

He takes out his pair of batons and takes a stance, and what looks like dark grey sand creeps up fluidly along his body, covering most of it before taking a crystalline yet watery appearance - a replacement for his regular armor. Then in the blink of an eye, he starts rushing at Jam, not quite catching up to her speed but nevertheless showing a very noticeable upgrade from before. With the batons shaped into blades, he swings at her repeatedly, each successful blow chipping away at her energy reserves.

« No. » she reply bluntly, picking up the Nihil Edge And examining it.

« I’ll warn Troa of this entity, just to be sure. I’ll keep the blade to, it could seal him again. »

« Time ? That’s pretry great ! I’ll ask that Frost person. »

"Hoo, that's heartwar-huh wait, nevermind;" she says, at the part featuring the black market. "Well, glad you got off the planet at least. Even if you sound fond of it."

She smiles at Demo, the warm and kind smile usually reserved for her one lover and goes to hug him even as he hang.

« I’m so glad you’re here ! » she says, visibly very happy.

She stumble while he does his thing. She’s very devoted to the idea of being drunk.

When he dash, both Neuff and Jam looks impressed and Jam actually get hit ! However, after some more successful blows, she start dodging, stumbling and leaning to avoid her blows while going for the occasional blows. From the mere poke to a brutal karate chop, her attack pattern is erratic !

"Alright. Uh, bye."

"Oh, could you keep an eye on Junior?"

He teleports out.

Zelerie Junior looks up at Ninth.

Oca teleports in a dozen meters away from Neuff and the others.

"Huh, there's a whole gaggle of them."

"....Close enough."

Erik groans, massaging his temples.

"Ugh... How many times must I remind you, Theresa? There's no shame in asking for help... perhaps if you weren't so blinded by your damn pride and stubbornness, you could see that."

Nicole flashes a grin at Demo.

"And you've never been one to turn down the chance to make a dramatic entrance. Anyway, nice of you to drop in, dude. How've you and Argo been holding up?"

She nods to Neuff.

"Awesome. If he's able to set up a meeting with Hit for us, make sure you call or text me about it, okay, Neuffie?"

Then she smiles at the sight of Neuff hugging Demo before glancing at Tobias and Jam's sparring match, letting out a low whistle.

"To call this impressive would be one hell of an understatement..."

He too hugs her back, despite his weird position, and chuckles.

"You sound extra happy today. Did you miss me?"

He smiles.

"I know I missed you~"

Once they're done hugging, he lets himself down on the ground, standing up normally and dispelling his chains. It may then become noticable that he has a (currently healing but still visible) wound on his leg. He doesn't seem bothered by it though, and he looks at Nicole while putting his arm around Neuff.

"I've been doing pretty fine. Argo a little less so. What happened to Ain really got to him even though they only met once. I had to talk him out of doing a rash rescue mission."

New Los Angeles

"She's still a good person overall, mind you. She's not gonna be a crime-fighter anytime soon, but she's using that money to help people there, which is more than you can say for most of the other rich people in the planet." Tobias says. "I'm not fond of the place itself, but I have friends there."

"She's learning your current attack pattern. Switch it." The metal on his batons reshape themselves into small shields, bolstering his barriers, and with them he's able to parry her attacks with his increased reflexes, though her stronger strikes still gives him trouble and puts him on the defensive. Whoever or whatever the voice is, they're clearly helping him.

"Oca is here. I'll keep an eye on him." The voice says again, this time selectively transmitting to everyone in the area except for Oca himself. Tobias takes out the water sphere move again, except this time it then spreads into a thick layer of ice in an area around himself, threatening to trap Jam momentarily. He then slams the ground, causing a series of small eruptions moving in a line towards Jam, leaving impressive ice formations in their wake using groundwater.

She offers her hand, inviting it to climb on her palm.

"Haha, well, it's the same thing for me." she says. "I'm kinda stressing out since Ain got kidnapped so I'm glad you're here. I can relax for a moment." declares Neuff, leaning against him. She does seems a bit more tired than usual.

"What happened to your leg ?" she says, with some urgency. "I know you can heal but if something tried to mess with ya... well I'm all ready to go berserk on some poor fool."

Neuff nods to Nicole in answer, too busy to really answer, and look at Oca with some level of wariness.

"That's pretty great that she helped ya." she comments to Tobias. "And heh, I prefer rich people when they work for others, not for themselves. I'm all for her."

Jam reacts by leaping forward, she channel fire around her lower body and manifest some kind of tiny fiery cyclone, attempting to hit her enemy with it !

Zelerie Junior crawls into Ninth's hand, and makes a hungry growling noise.

He notices Jam and Tobias.

"Huh, she's here too?"

He recognizes Nicole, and sort of recognizes Demo from the spat almost a year ago.

"Huh."

"Uh, heya, Neuff!"

"If I ask for help, they're just going to think I'm not ready. That I can't handle things myself. I'm not some kid to just be coddled all the time."

New Los Angeles

"Thanks. No promises we'll be around, but if we happen to be when you're breaking Ain out, we'll lend you a hand." Tobias says to Neuff's group. With a spinning leap, he creates a blizzard cocoon around himself to match Jam's cyclone, though her physical strength once again overpowers his and he's flung back from the resulting blast.

Landing hard on his back before quickly getting up with a backflip, he takes a rooted stance. He doesn't attack Jam, but instead works to spread the ice and form a myriad of structures - walls, chest-high cover, sharp entangling branches, growing from the ground and creeping along the walls of the buildings surrounding them. He's quite clearly trying to use the terrain to his advantage and create chokepoints & traps against Jam.

Erik merely gives Theresa a look, then shakes his head.

"First Niko, now you..."

"Argo's not alone in that department. I learned about the whole Ain situation myself after overhearing a couple of Neuffie's friends talking about it; one of them, the blonde guy Thor, sounded especially pissed about it."

Nicole smiles reassuringly at Demo.

"But you tell Argo that I'm not only gonna be part of the rescue op, but that I'm also gonna bash Troa's smug face in for both of you boys."

She returns Neuff's nod and gives Tobias a thumbs up in response, then hears the warning about Oca's arrival before casting a suspicious glance at the cyborg Saiyan in question.

"Whaddya want?"

Demo blinks at the voice in his head. Who is Oca?

He doesn't think much about it when he notices that Neuff looks tired, and slightly softens his arm's hold on her so that she won't feel constricted as she leans against him.

"Let your muscles relax a little, you need a little rest. I'll make sure you don't fall.", he says with a warm smile. He then looks down at his leg when his wound is pointed out.

"Ah, that. I got attacked by a group of guys on dragons who had axes and lances. I didn't really have any trouble driving them off, but their boss managed to get a hit in on me."

Then he looks at Nicole.

"I'm sure that'll calm him down a little.", Demo says, nodding gratefully. He then looks up at Oca too and raises his eyebrow.

I guess that's Oca?

Jam blast against the roof of a building and observe the ice, seemingly stuck for the moment. He can use the occasion to attack or reinforce his defenses while she's busy, though her body language become clearer and clearer as she seems to be finding something of a way through his impressive defenses.

"Hey, thanks !" she says, raising her thumbs. "We'll need all the help we can to free her up."

"Give me a part too, I wanna punch her. Or rather, I want every sister bar Deut and Katre to take turns punching her. It'll be poetic and we'll let you guys take share, it'll be a nice act, we... ho fuck I'm rambling." she says, rubbing her eyes.

Neuff visibly does what Demo told her and relax.

"Ho, yeah, the Einherjar. Glad you beat them back with just an injury, its a proof that these assholes needed numbers to even scratch ya." she declares, though she look quite worried. "And yeah, hello Oca." she says, seemingly noticing his confused demeanor. "What's the matter today ?"

Lord Ninth just pick up some food from her pocket and feed it to it.

Zelerie Junior absorbs the food while burbling happily. It's tail whips around.

He rolls his eyes at Nicole, though gives a chuckle/snort when he hears Neuff's intentions for Troa.

To Neuff

"Uh, have you seen any of these lying around?"

He holds out the One Star Dark Dragon Ball before immediately sucking it back into his inventory in case anyone present feels grabby.

New Los Angeles

With Jam stuck on the ice, Tobias morphs his weapons once again into axes, by now taking on the same color as his armor. He throws each of them at her, returning to him if they miss, and follows up by aiming his wrist cannon at her. He charges up, combining his own powers with the gun, and launches a strong kinetic shot at her. In his other hand, he starts to create yet another kinetic projectile.

"Wait, what's wrong with Niko?"

All her pride immediately vanished, replaced by deep-seated concern. It should be obvious why this hits so close to home for her.

"He... hasn't been acting like himself lately. He's become obsessed with tracking this demon, behaving in an almost irrrational manner, and he's even yelled at Sandra and Aunt Sarah when they offered to help, saying that it was something he had to do by himself to prove he wasn't some helpless boy. And... I get the feeling there's far more sinister at play here, like something or someone might be influencing him."

"Easy, Neuff, I'm sure everyone's gonna have their chance to pulverize Troa when the time comes," Nicole remarks to Neuff before looking at Demo, remaining cautious in case Oca tried anything funny.

"Anyway, I've got a couple questions about these axe and lance-wielding dragon riders: one, why'd they attack you? Two, did you get a good look at them?"

With another crack of lightning, she transforms again, vanishing in a bolt without any further words.
