Heh. So Legends gives us one of the hilariously logical paradox preventers ever.

Also one of the most oddly specific, though it's arguably an extension of a more well known Paradox.

Also, Ray's gone native. Time will tell if she's really evil or not though, but it's hard to tell how this one will go.

Edit:

This series really gets attached to certain actors huh?

Constantine has definitely leveled up, so to speak, since joining this show.

He regularly pulls off magical feats he couldn't before.

And wow, so that's who she's playing this season. Interesting.

I didn't care about Vixen enough to have a second non-working totem Vixen on the team. Meanwhile the writers still don't know what to do with Rory, but think it's more important to bloat the cast.

Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.

She's not Vixen, though. She's a completely different character.

Well, the team has lot a lot of members since this past season:

Firestorm was their biggest gun. They lost both parts of him, gained Wally for a bit, then lost him (due to Real Life Writes the Plot), and lost Amaya.

Rip is gone too. While Zari kinda fills the big gun slot (and John might also walk into that section depending on how powerful he's supposed to be) the team is kinda lacking in members right now.

Nate is also kinda off the team too, at least for now.

Which is a good thing with Ava being a main character she kinda needs stuff to do instead of just joining the team.

I like Charlie. I also like that Charlie was genderfluid (although not now that Constantine snipped their powers).

I do wonder if they only made Charlie a character when they found out Wally's actor was leaving so they wouldn't lose both their black characters.

I'm pretty sure they would have kept Charlie even with Wally, since the whole cast and crew appear to really like Maisie Richardson-Sellers.

Also, I know present to you: "Should I Stay or Should I Go?" by the Legends.

So, how would the Legends deal with some of them being forced to act like a boy band?

They would handle it pretty well seeing as they already have the classic setup. Though, Mick and John are in competition for the band's "bad boy".

Man, everybody but Ray was a Grade-A asshole this episode, eh? Also, as much as I love Maisie Richardson-Sellers, I would have loved to see Anjli Mohindra stick around.

Well, they were called out on lacking their moral centre.

Even they realized what they were doing was wrong.

Zari in particular shocked me. I mean, she comes from a future where people are persecuted for just being different!

Zari was also the one who first relented. It's obvious it hit her harder than anyone.

Can I just say that I love that Ray built in a safeguard against having his suit stolen? It must date back to the incident in Shogun.

I am also very happy to have Maisie back, and yes, what Constantine did to the character is awful, but... it is also very Constantine, who is, in all his incarnations, pretty consistently an ass.

Not in Justice League Action.

True, animated and all, but he's a pretty chill dude there.

I love how Mick and Charlie bonded. I love that the writers haven't forgotten how Ava is a clone and didn't have a childhood and have her be all weird about it, because of course she would be.

Constantine continues to show that he's actually a better person than even he thinks he is, giving his own life force to save the kid. But, of course, he's probably driven by guilt due to what he did to Astra (for those who don't know: he tried to exorcise a demon from her and ended up casting her into Hell).

And man, I've missed Nora Darhk.

Also, for those who don't know, this is why Nate wasn't in this episode.

A recurring thing in Legends is characters getting super-excited to meet people or take part in events from history that they're a huge fan of. Normally that's Ray or Nate, but most of the others have had that happen at least once. And the things Sara geeks out over being horror movies and summer camp . . . that feels right.

Kid Sara and Ava were adorable! Hopefully we'll see them again sometime!

I dunno how that could happen. Well, that is a lie, there are two ways - Constantine did say he had never tested that potion on people, and also, Charlie might get her powers back at some point.

It was a very good episode, in general. Only weak point was that the end fight scene was much weaker, technically, than is usual for the show, but that was inevitable because there is just no way to find a child actor that age with the skills of Caity Lotz.

The initial scene where Ava met Charlie was brilliant - There is just no way Ava did not see right through Sara and Zari, but she is actually a really good bureau chief, and just let it slide. I am not sure if she set it up deliberately, or if that was just her instantly seeing the practical reason for having one of the Fugitives on side.

There was just so much good character work in this episode. Avalance being cute. Remembering that Ava is kind of an AI. Zari being conflicted about Charlie having her friends face, Charlie bonding with Mick. Constantine and Ray. Also, just so very funny at the end Nora trying to live a normal life.. and being exactly as bad at it as you would expect, given her life.
