Seeing yet another Druchi edgelord with a WIP brought my mind to this meme.◊
Echoing hymn of my fellow passerine | Art blog (under construction)...Why?
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. You know that Dark Elves would do that at some point.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Well that took away the most prominent theory on what the last DLC for 2 would be. Question is, which races get it?
Sanity is the Lie, there is only Madness. My question was more "why that meme?"
Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. On side note all old pictures of that guy have him has golden mask helmet as well
...Which I guess they removed to make him stand out from Malekith
Anyhoo, apparently this guy is old school fan favorite who hasn't been around tabletop for at least a decade?
I've read his wiki page. His lore is... pretty bare bones, really. I'm sure his monster mashing is interesting from a Total War perspective, but other than that, I'm not seeing anything that makes him stand out from his oh-so-cruel and evil brethren.
Then again, I don't really see what people see in these emo boyband leaders to begin with, so maybe the problem is with me.
True that. The Ratmen are far superior.
Then again, when aren't they?

Avatar SourceLike, take this part about how he tamed his personal dragon Bracchus: Rakarth fixed the Dragon with his piercing stare, and there was something in the young Dark Elf that the Dragon recognised. Bracchus saw the innate cruelty and bloodlust of Rakarth, and knew that a kindred spirit approached. The Dragon acquiesced to Rakarth without a fight, and he has ridden Bracchus into battle ever since.
"Innate cruelty and bloodlust"? That's what makes him stand out to this creature? How is that different from literally any other Dark Elf? It's their one defining trait. It's like being impressed with a dwarf for having a magnificent beard and holding grudges.
I just really don't get Dark Elves.
Grombrindal's beard is so magnificent it provides buffs. Its quality is superlative even amongst dwarfs.
Avatar SourceWell, yeah, but Grombrindal is a demigod who is more or less the dwarf.
Rakarth is some smuck that appears in the background whenever the real players start toying with monsters.

Pardon me for asking, but what army would you recommend for Orion? What units, what Heroes? I wanted to try things out with Talsyn. I had fun with Durthu with mostly Tree Spirit army.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...
Grombrindal is pretty much the definition of "too angry to die" - that guy came back from the dead because Malekith incurred such a massive grudge.
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.Play to the Asrai's strengths, I imagine?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.My only idea is:
- Orion
- Ariel
- Additional Hero
- Additional Hero
- 4-5 Waystalkers (or other archer groups)
- 2-3 Tree Kin
- Some cavalry
Free-Range's text is funny as hell
Those are some great skills.
And I've changed my mind about his appearance, I think it looks pretty cool.

"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnMy opinion's not changed, guy just seems dull. Someone to confederate as Malekith and then otherwise forget about.
Avatar SourceAt least by confederating him you get all his skills while being able to focus more on your best Lord.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I don't think it helps that he's all about monsters and fighting monsters. The Lizardmen are a ways south and dark elves aren't really fast to get to their monsters. So... he makes harpies cheap?
Unless his faction bonus is to let you build these earlier, seems like someone you don't want to play.
Avatar SourceHe's great at fighting any monsters, and anything that causes fear and terror. Every faction have their share of monsters and terror units and he specializes in countering those kinds of units.

Yeah, but only the Lizardmen are likely to field them relatively early in the campaign, is what I was trying to get at there. He's screaming confederation fodder.

That sounds like something the competitive MP crowd is going to like.
