Rating Guns, one of Games Workshops worst/best puns.
Agreed
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnIf one have to see bad puns is the entirety of lizardmans name, dear sotek.....
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Not just puns but references too.
I love how many of the randomly generated names for Lizardman generals/heroes are Dutch puns.
Alright, tried it again (had to do another tonight restart because suddenly everyone and their mother declared war on me at once) and this time maxed Tor Surnpidar as high as I could get it at grievous cost to my food stocks. On the upside I was able to build a lot of buildings that got me a large number of high-tier units beyond simple Clanrats. You guys weren't kidding, poison is devastating on Lizardmen, and I haven't even gotten to really play around yet.
Hopefully I can wipe out the Last Defenders pretty fast and then set about taking over the rest of the Southlands while also gathering warpstone.
It's less poison, and more "you want to get the armour-piercing damage, magical damage, and plain high DPS Skaven have in their ranged units".
The point of Clanrats is to die for you so everything else can fire. Even better as I think Mors can get Expendable on them.
Avatar SourceEither way, Poison Wind Globadiers proved their value in two different battles. But I've been putting in as many advanced units into the two armies I have so far as possible. Globadiers, all sorts of ranged units, Jezzails, Plague catapults...
Poison Wind Globadiers don't actually do poison.
But yeah, ranged weapons are their strong point.

Avatar SourceYou missedtyped there, the point of Clanrats is for them to die for tactical, strategic, testing, boredom, and comedic reasons.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranAll of you may die-die, but that is a sacrifice I am willing to make, yes-yes.
Every time I wipe out Naggarond, I find myself accidentally invading Norsca.
Avatar SourceI have a question. I started playing as Azhag, and I'm doing fine. But, I wonder if I should upgrade Azhag's current army.
Here's how my army for Azhag looks like:
- Azhag himself (got Crown of Sorcery and Skullmuncha)
- Orc Shaman
- Black Orc Big Boss
- 5 Big Uns
- 4 Bug Un Boar Boyz
- 3 Arachnarok Spiders
- One Catapult
- 4 Orc Arrez Boyz (I am planning to replace them)
Also, thanks to mods, I managed to get Skarsnik and Grom (got the mod, that allows me to take in refugees from destroyed factions - immortal lords or Legendary Lords). What armies should I give them (or, at least Skarsnik and Goblin Shaman Lord, whom I want to give that Arachnarok mount)?
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...Alright, tonight's segment of Queek campaigning went fairly well. I confederated a clan of Skaven that ran up the coast to the borders of the Last Defenders, and several hard-fought battles got us Serpent's Coast before the Last Defenders came back and destroyed it after a hard-fought battle. Warpfire Throwers and Ratling Gunners are definitely very important. I'll send Queek back up there with a stronger army once he's back in fighting shape.
We also fended off a rebellion around our capital, so that's another plus. Hopefully we'll be able to finish off the Last Defenders soon so that we can do our first ritual.
Don't forget about heroes. Engineers are really good for weapon teams due to their buffs, and the Lore of Ruin is... well, incredibly dangerous.
The passive effect is also a -13 attack penalty (and some leadership) and Warp Lightning is super cheap.

Avatar SourceI also recommend Plague Priests. Their Lore of Plagues will help you out in a pinch.
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...I prefer the Lore of Ruin (honestly, I hate Pestilens as a whole, I find them to be the most boring clan (at least Mors has Squeek) and the only thing they have I like is the catapult and even then, I'm stubborn and will go full Warp Lightning Cannon) but Plague's not awful for bogging down enemies or and enhancing infantry swarms. It's just... kind of meh? Ruin does damage better, Stealth does debuffs better. Plague just lets you spam even more shoddy infantry.
Avatar SourceFor Skaven, being able to summon shoddy infantry plays to their strategy. You got to somehow stall enemy's advance, so your artillery can annihilate the enemy with ease. Plagueclaw Catapults, Warp Lighting Cannons, Wind Mortars (I found the latter extremely useful during sieges, as they wiped out the defending infantry atop the walls the last time I used them).
I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...That's what The Menace Below is for. If you're getting overwhelmed fast enough that a plague priest is worth it entirely for that one spell, then something is going wrong (though the fact you can keep the enemy distracted for a hilariously long time with one nearby unit helps). As I said, even more shoddy infantry. You should already have enough sources without touching that.

Avatar SourceI was merely basing my opinion regarding a Plague Priest thanks to my experience with them, and how Legend Of Total War recommended them.
Anyway, my question regarding my Azhag army. Should I add any Black Orcs, Stone Trolls, Doom Divers or anyone else?
Yeah, I’ve been sticking Chieftains into armies, though I do have one army led by a Grey Seer and the garrison army I fought the rebels with had an Engineer so there was plenty of lightning. I’ll probably use more heroes as I go.
None of the above. When I roll with Azhag, I do so with just Big 'uns, Boars and Arrer Boyz.
Vanguard Deployment on all your units is amazing. Just one big rush into the enemy formation from multiple directions before they even got their boots on. You may need to leave siege battles to other Lords, but in open battle it's crushing. It's also relatively cheap, so you can afford to equip your other armies more extensively.

To be fair, Legend has also completely ignored them for various other things and has showcased extremely well that all you really need is one or two big distractions and then an entire army of weapons teams can clean everything up.
Avatar SourceThen, what armies would you suggest for Skarsnik and Goblin Shaman Lord? Like I mentioned, I got Skarsnik thanks to a mod that allows me to accept immortal or Legendary Lords after their factions are destroyed (don't have to worry about confederations that much anymore). I think I got either the Goblin Shaman or Skarsnik some Arachnarok Spiders.

I will become a great writer one day! Hopefully...Update after a few days: All of the southern tip of the Southlands now belongs to me. The Last Defenders have been exterminated, and now I'm at war with Tlaqua, where we're sort of at an impasse. I do have to go and reclaim the Kingdom of Skulls because a Beastmen army decided to run around and cause havoc, but otherwise I'd say we're doing pretty good. Really what's stopping me mostly is the fact that for my Skaven armies to be effective I have to put in a lot of their better units. While it's effective, it limits me to somewhere between two and three armies at any one time.
One you need to explain.
