I think Des has my skype and can give it to you, daltar

And I don't think Skype's required, it's just an easier way for people to chat about the game than a discussion thread.

I'm very much intrigued. I think I would like to recreate a character that I didn't get to put to much use, in another RP. Taki, my moronic Snow-Harpy.

Sara: Huh, interesting build... A lot of power but not much movement. I like the character concept a lot, though, going good for the feel of a Fell Caster. Weapon skills and a very strong artifact... probably wise to make it guns given the lack of physical attributes, though synergy may not be as good given lack of Dexterity. Anyway, approved!

Mira: Approved.

Lisha: ^^; I think now you got 10 points left over. Want to save them or sink them on something else?

Joslyn: Works! Approved.

That awkward moment where someone uses your character name, and you go back through the whole four pages trying to figure out who the person was talking about only to stop and think "Wait a minute..." before remembering.

As for her build, there's a reason for the apparent deficiencies she has in her style that I'd intended to reveal gradually, given the opportunity.

It's kind of funny. Sufficiently advanced stupidity is like sufficiently advanced science; eventually, you find something you can't solve.

  • Character Info:

    • Name: Taki. Which she maintains is the sound of ice breaking under the weight of her prey, and thus, a sign of good luck.

    • Age: 37, though she doesn't look or act a day past 17.

    • Gender: Female

    • Origin: The Wilds of Northstein

    • Species: Snow-Harpy

    • Appearance: Something like this[1], but with the plumage being snowy white and the hair a platinum blonde.

    • Personality: More than anything else, what is most apparent about Taki, is that she is an idiot. She's stupid, ignorant, borderline feral, and so gullible that you could convince her that the color of sky was orange provided she was indoors. Taki is depressingly illiterate, and has yet to be convinced that this is a problem ("Scritchy-Scratches aren't words! Words are words!"). And her understanding of most of the fundamental ideas of civilization is tenuous, at best. She is very simple-minded.

That being said, it is occasionally proven that her simpleness can see through problems that the more educated and knowledgeable can't deal with. And, while under most systems of intellectual measure she's an idiot, she is very capable of surviving and can be a dishearteningly cunning foe.

Despite her lack of wits, Taki is an otherwise rather friendly sort, though the forms her friendliness takes is often at odds with what's proper. She, despite living a life in the wilds, is very sociable and amicable around those she encounters. She loves positive attention, and it wouldn't take more than a few kinds words, before she hugging and cuddling someone without regard for propriety or consent. Meanwhile, sharp or harsh words can quickly upset her. She's quick to make friends, even if she's just as quick to leave them, the moment something catches her attention; not that they stop being her friends. Her gullible, friendly nature shouldn't be taken to mean she's a harmless ditz...though she is a bit of a ditz. She can have very quick, very visceral responses to betrayal and mockery when she picks up on it, and can be frighteningly ruthless in preventing others from harming her in the future.

She is not greedy, by nature. When she wants something, it's usually because she needs it for something or it serves to satisfy her curious or playful nature. She might go to great lengths to acquire a pointless bauble, but once she's had her fill of it, she'll abandon it without regard for it's material worth. Her notions of worth and property do not line-up very well with that of most folks. She has no problem with theft provided it's something she needs, and won't care if someone takes something they need from her. The best she can define the notion of trade, is that two people are stealing items from one another that the other doesn't want anymore anyway. Likewise, she doesn't get notions of debt or vengeance. If someone is no longer in a position to harm her, she is no longer concerned with them. And when she decides to help or protect someone, she has no expectations for compensation or reward. She just did what she wanted to do. This has lead to some mistaking her for being much more selfless than is entirely accurate.

That being said, she is pretty willing to help others, when it's clear that they need her help. A paragon of justice she is not, but there are things she likes and things she doesn't like. She'll act on account of either of these things. Notions of fighting for ideology or the greater good fly right over her head. If she stops a bad guy/girl, it's because they are doing something she doesn't like at that very moment. Again, she can be very easy to manipulate. But, she is also very pure, in the sense that she can't be convinced to do something that she thinks is wrong.

As mentioned before, her sense of propriety is pretty far-removed from that of other people. She has no real respect for ideas regarding rank or tradition. While kind, her manners are rather terrible. She's honest to a fault. Modesty and shame are not big issues for her. Her idea of meeting new friends, is to just swoop down and temporarily abduct someone to talk to for a while. She doesn't care to be restrained or confined, and can react poorly to such things. Taki will do whatever makes sense and is comfortable to her.

  • Bio: As far back as Taki can remember, she has been alone. From the first time she leaped from sheltered cliff-side that was her home, and gained her first meal, she's taken care of herself. There yet remain the faintest of memories of being nurtured and cared for, but despite her efforts these remain nothing more than warm, comforting feelings. She has no real idea where she came from, apart from a small collection of items that littered her nest, leftover from before she could remember. Her actual age, which she doesn't keep track of, could suggest that perhaps her abandonment was related to the rise of the Apostles, though it could have just easily been due to being not cared for.

Really, Taki shouldn't have survived the harsh northern lands, on her own. If she hadn't been marked, she probably wouldn't have. But she was. Not that she's aware of it. Oh sure, Taki knows that she has abilities beyond those of most folks, a warm magical power that is both protective and pleasing to her. But she has no idea of it's source, or that it's anything all that special. It doesn't help that her mark is located squarely in the center of her back, leaving her completely oblivious to it's existence.

All she knew was that she survived.

And that there were other people out in the world.

Taki spent years skirting around and spying upon the other folks of the Northstein, ever curious about them. Before long, she began sneaking closer and closer, listening and learning their words, if not their ways. With her blessed power, she eventually gained the certainty to take the next step and...started swiping unattended objects. Pots and pans, blankets, clothes and food, whatever caught her eye. The encounters and misadventures that spawned from this did eventually start to spark minor myths and superstitions about her, particularly when Taki's limited good sense lost out to her desire to talk to the people she encountered. Lone hunters and nomads, children wandered too far away from camps, and really anyone she could speak to alone. Some viewed her as a menace, others as something more benign. She caused trouble, yes, but just as often ended up rescuing folks from blizzards and leaving behind extra meat for them when times were lean. The more realistic individuals simply accepted that they had a weird neighbor and didn't make a fuss about things.

Then she revealed what she could do. The steady increase in the number of monsters and dark forces across the land, lead to an inevitable confrontation, when they entered into Taki's self-claimed territory. Initially ambivalent about the monstrosities that wandered through the lands, they earned her ire, when they began attacking the people in her areas. These people were one of her favorite pastimes, and these beasts were smashing them to bits and making them scream in all kinds of unpleasant ways. So she struck them down where she found them, striking from the sky like a bolt of lightning when she saw them. Drawing upon magical gifts that she had rarely needed to use, she struck the monsters down with brutal alacrity.

Those she saved realized what Taki was, even though she didn't. Soon opinions about the not-so-bright harpy took a swift upturn, confusing Taki with freely given gifts, requests and invitations. She didn't understand it, but was pleased with the attention all the same. Many told her that she had a responsibility, that she was a champion, that she was a lot of things, some tried bribe or cajole her into their service claiming that she should serve one of the Jarls. Again, she didn't understand or have any real interest for any of this, but liked the attention.

They told her that she was special and that she carried the light of someone wonderful, and that she should seek others like her. That she should look for the marks that denoted the power of the goddess.

This was of interest of Taki. The idea that there were others like her, and that she was like them. It spoke to an emptiness that she had wanted filled for a longtime. So Taki decided she would go out and find other like her, regardless of notions of responsibility or goodness.

  • Magical Girl Info:

    • Mark: Taki's mark is situated on her back, between her shoulder blades. Circling it, are three feathery white wings, whose feathertips seem to more resemble icicles.

    • Magical Girl Appearance: In addition to donning her armor (See below under: Clothes and Armor) and wielding her silvery bow, Taki body seems to exude a cold mist and bits of snow. While harmless, it often shifts according to her mood, flowing and calm when she's relaxed and turning into playful flurries of snow flakes when happy. When angry, the air around her becomes still, still and her body becomes rimed in a thin layer of frost.

Incidentally, it wouldn't be all that strange for Taki to have already met another of our Magical Girls here, and since decided to follow them. Does anyone want to start off with our resident bird-brain as a companion?

Alright, ought to put down SOME of my character info before I get lazy and end up never doing it... WIP.

Character Info:

  • Name: Lupi
  • Age: 16 (appears 16... pixies normally age faster than humans)
  • Gender: Female
  • Origin: Eluran, though currently residing in Northstein
  • Species: Pixie
  • Appearance: Lupi is a slim figured short haired brunette who stands at a mighty 4 inches! ...she's short, even by pixie standards. Lupi has six gossamer dragonfly wings, but ever since she came to the North, they've been covered under lots of thick coats to protect against the cold. To deal with Northstein's weather, the little pixie wears extra fuzzy, thick white overcoats that make her look a bit like a marshmallow. Bit of a problem for aerodynamics, but thankfully as a magical girl she can fly without her wings now. Lucky, right? Her eyes are olive green.
  • Personality: Lupi is an impudent little pixie with something to prove. While not a personal Napoleon complex in the sense that she's acting tough because of her own height, she does feel like the smaller races don't get as much respect as humans or elves or others of thereabout size. Marked as a magical girl, she wanted to show the world she can be as tough and as scrappy as any other girl from any other nation. That being said, little Lupi's still good at heart, even if she has a tendency to not think things through fully and set stuff on fire.
  • Bio: Lupi was just an ordinary little girl in the small and unnoticeable pixie village of Bloomwood. There wasn't too much she heard about the outside world, but what info she did hear, she wanted to go out and help. Fallen goddesses, spellcasting girls, demons on the loose... A perfect set-up for an adventure! So when the elders told her what the mark on her back meant, Lupi was excited and immediately began her training in magic. There were a few ups and downs, of course - Lupi accidentally started a forest fire... twice... when practicing her flame and lightning spells. But eventually she built herself up to be a powerful magical girl, casting sorceries that even the most experienced mages would be envious of. But there was still so much to learn, so much strength yet to build. Wanting to expand her magic and develop her toughness, but not wanting to be branded in Magstara's somewhat dubious system, Lupi headed north, waaay north, into Northstein to learn the ways of strength and cold. And boy is it cold there...

Magical Girl Info:

  • Mark: The mark appears on the center of Lupi's back, right between her wings. The 4 pointed star has slightly rounded edges with a circle within a circle in the middle, like two eyes drawn atop one another.
  • Magical Girl Appearance: Lupi appears resplendent in golden robes with blue lines highlighting the seams. Her 6 wings crystallize and separate from her back, floating in a circle behind her. To make herself more noticeable as well, a 1 foot wide magical circle reveals itself behind that, containing the symbol of her mark. The color of the circle and her crystal wings changes to reflect the spells she is casting.
